THE NEXT BEST THING - broke after jumping a shadow near the 650m hampering trailing runners and lost ground before settling. Authorisation of this runner's 1st placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation and also that there were not sufficient grounds for a protest for any interference received by the 2nd placed MILLION DOLLAR CHIC. When questioned Driver W House confirmed that the gelding had jumped a shadow and that he then had difficulty shifting this runner outwards to avoid causing interference to trailing runners. | |||||||||||
