Race Comments

Race 1   CENTRAL ENERGY TRUST HANDICAP TROT
SCOOTS - trotted roughly entering the first turn losing ground. Continued to trot roughly at various stages. Broke briefly near the 1600m. Broke again near the 300m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners. Trainer A Pyers advised he would be making gear changes prior to SCOOTS racing next.
ALL MUSCLED UP - unable to hold the back of the leader near the 2000m which enabled QUERCUS RUBRA to shift down to fill the position.
MR MONTY - broke at the start losing ground. Broke again near the 300m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
COOL PHELAN - cleared from the Unruly for future standing starts.
Race 2   BOOK YOUR XMAS FUNCTION 12 DECEMBER MOBILE PACE
TRES BONNE FILLE - over-raced middle stages.
NAROBI - Trainer S Doody advised the filly was showing signs of being in season following the race.
THE NEXT BEST THING - broke after jumping a shadow near the 650m hampering trailing runners and lost ground before settling. Authorisation of this runner's 1st placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation and also that there were not sufficient grounds for a protest for any interference received by the 2nd placed MILLION DOLLAR CHIC. When questioned Driver W House confirmed that the gelding had jumped a shadow and that he then had difficulty shifting this runner outwards to avoid causing interference to trailing runners.
HARING HABAGAT - hampered briefly by a breaking runner near the 650m before then resisting an attempt to be shifted wider by TRES BONNE FILLE. Driver M Hay was warned for using his whip free of the rein on one occasion on the final turn.
MILLION DOLLAR CHIC - hampered briefly by a breaking runner near the 650m.
WAI B NGARO - back from the Unruly position at dispatch. Hampered briefly by a breaking runner near the 650m and lost ground when taking evasive action. Raced greenly rounding the final turn losing ground.
Race 3   GOOD LUCK DONNIE MOBILE PACE
JETASI - held up early final turn.
MISS WOODVILLE - connections advised that the filly would be racing in season.
DREAM ON LOU - lay in rounding the final turn.
CATHY FREEMAN - Driver S Dickson admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip & Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion early in the run home. After viewing replays and considering penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300.
WHITEBAIT DELIGHT - connections advised that blood tests taken following the filly's disappointing last start performance revealed moderate levels of tie up which has been treated. Weakened from the 600m. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the filly had again tied up badly which required treatment by the Veterinarian. Trainer D Gale advised that he would be reassessing this runner's future as a racing proposition.
BET ON POLLY - lay in rounding the turns. Shifted out rounding the final turn when Driver W House was attempting to activate the deafeners losing ground. Continued to race greenly throughout the run home.
Race 4   RACING AGAIN 19TH & 21ST NOVEMBER MOBILE PACE
BET ON STEPH - weakened leaving the final turn.
SANTANNA MACH - lay out in the run home.
Race 5   CAPTAIN KIRK SYNDICATE MOBILE PACE
BLUE CHIP LOU - lay in on straightening for the run home but was immediately corrected. Driver S Doody admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip & Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion early in the run home. After viewing replays and considering penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Doody's Driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 21 November 2024 (2 days).
COURAGE REACTOR - when questioned regarding the performance Driver W House advised that the mare may not have been suited to being left without cover.
INLOUOF - broke at the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Broke briefly again when jumping a shadow rounding the first turn losing further ground.
WHITEBAIT MARG - Driver M Hay was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion on one occasion rounding the final turn and also spoken to advisedly in relation to the manner he used his whip in the run home.
