A false start was declared when TUAREG broke in the score up and shifted out severely checking WORDS which fell with Driver A Poutama then being tipped from that runner's sulky once the filly regained its feet. Mr Poutama was examined by St John Ambulance staff and cleared of any injury. WORDS was declared a late scratching at 5.20pm on veterinary advice after sustaining a laceration to the near hind which required treatment. Driver S Abernethy (TUAREG) elected to shift to the unruly for the restart. The start was further delayed when the track had to be dragged with the event starting approx 14 minutes late. TUAREG - stood down for future mobiles until having trialed to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion. | |||||||||||
