Race 1   IRT. YOUR HORSE. OUR PASSION HANDICAP TROT
The start was delayed when the field was turned out of line after the Starter was not satisfied with the manner in which various runners addressed the barriers.
PLAY FAST AND LOOSE - broke near the 150m losing ground before settling. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the filly had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
BOSS JO - lay in at various stages and in particular rounding the final turn losing ground.
CRACKERJACK - veered inwards after the start but was clear of other runners then broke losing ground.
TRIFOLIUM - broke at the start losing considerable ground and trailed the field.
CHESINOV - slow early losing considerable ground. Broke near the 100m when trailing the field. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
HELSINGOR - broke entering the first turn losing ground.
SO MYSTIFYING - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners.
Race 2   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared when TUAREG broke in the score up and shifted out severely checking WORDS which fell with Driver A Poutama then being tipped from that runner's sulky once the filly regained its feet. Mr Poutama was examined by St John Ambulance staff and cleared of any injury. WORDS was declared a late scratching at 5.20pm on veterinary advice after sustaining a laceration to the near hind which required treatment. Driver S Abernethy (TUAREG) elected to shift to the unruly for the restart. The start was further delayed when the track had to be dragged with the event starting approx 14 minutes late.
TUAREG - stood down for future mobiles until having trialed to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion.
PASS CODE - weakened final turn.
BETYOUCAN - when questioned regarding the performance Driver M White could offer no explanation for what he considered to be a disappointing performance.
Race 3   HIDDEN LAKE HOTEL AND APARTMENTS MOBILE PACE
Raceday control amended the start time to 5.50pm due to the delay with the previous race.
CRUMSY - when questioned regarding the gelding's performance Driver M White advised that the gelding raced greenly throughout when leading.
Race 4   MCMILLAN EQUINE FEEDS NZ JUNIOR DRIVER CHMPS HT1 HCP TROT
Raceday control amended the start time to 6.15pm due to the delay in Race 2.
TOPAZ CASTLETON - weakened final turn.
ORDAINED - weakened final turn.
BREAK FREE - commenced to weaken near the 700m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormality.
SONSOFTHEMERCH - raced wide early. Broke near the 1500m losing all chance.
ARADNE - pre-race warmed. Broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
Race 5   MVS EQUINE: CELEBRATING WOMEN IN RACING MOBILE PACE
PRINCESS LISA - hampered briefly near the 80m and had to be steadied.
AMAZING CAPTAIN - shifted out on straightening for the run home but was corrected by Driver J Dickie. Shifted out further near the 80m hampering PRINCESS LISA and was again corrected.
HOT AND DANGEROUS - Driver T Cameron was questioned in relation to the removable deafeners not being in place prior to the commencement of the score up. Mr Cameron stated that the filly had warmed up in a relaxed manner and as it was his intention to go forward early he elected to activate the deafeners during the preliminary. Mr Cameron further advised that he had recommended to connections that the deafeners be removed from the filly's notifiable gear.
LA MIKI - raced wide early. Weakened final turn.
Race 6   MCMILLAN EQUINE FEEDS NZ JUNIOR DRIVER CHMPS HT2 MOBILE PACE
CONRAD H - broke at the start checking a second row runner and settled at the rear. Placed on the unruly for future mobiles.
PROVISEUR - Junior Driver Z Meredith (assisted by D Balle) admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip & Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Meredith's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 18 October up to and including 1 November 2024 (5 days).
CAULFIELD - weakened in the run home.
ALWAYS B CHARLIE - raced wide early and middles stages before being restrained to the rear near the 1400m. Improved three wide without cover from the 950m before weakening final turn. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.
BOOT SCOOTIN BOOGIE - back from position at dispatch. Driver C Hackett was issued a warning. Broke near the 750m checking a trailing runner and lost its chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
RIVERBOY BEN - weakened in the run home.
BET WEST - checked shortly after the start losing ground. Checked by a breaking runner near the 750m losing further ground.
ONETANGI GIRL - weakened in the run home.
Race 7   RURAL SUPPORT TRUST MOBILE PACE
IM NOT THE MAID - held up final turn.
SHIRLEY BASSEY - held up throughout the run home.

After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee issued a fine of $300.
BARBAROSSA - raced wide without cover from the 1300m when unable to secure the position outside the leader which was being held by INLOUOF.
