When questioned regarding the tactics he adopted through the middle stages Mr Beecroft advised the mare had proved disappointing after being saved for one run last week and he had elected to race closer to the speed today however the mare had failed to finish the race off in a competitive manner. After hearing Mr Beecroft's explanation Stewards noted his explanation.

Trainer K James advised in his opinion the mare may be better suited to grass tracks.

A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and that the horse had lost a shoe during the running. Co-trainer K Gill advised they would be having blood tests taken from the mare in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results. Co-trainer K Gill advised Stewards on 29 August that KERRALLY has been treated for a blood disorder and dehydration since last racing.
