| Amateur driver C Negus (THE BETTOR MAJOR) defended a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that she used her whip in a continuous manner in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mrs Negus, the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and imposed a fine of $500. |

Stewards questioned drivers R Alfeld (SANS REPOS) and W House (SUPER FUND) regarding this incident and after hearing their explanations and viewing the replays, Stewards were unable to apportion sole blame onto any one horse or driver and took the matter no further. | |
