Race 1   K B & ASSOCIATES ACCOUNTANTS TROT
LOVEONTHEHILL - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
TO THE MOON AND BACK - broke racing into the first bend hampering ROYAL AHEARN losing considerable ground. Stewards lodged a protest against this runner's 3rd placing under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging TO THE MOON AND BACK had broken in excess of 150m. Connections did not contest the protest and TO THE MOON AND BACK was disqualified by the Stewards. Placed on the Unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer B Williamson.
MUSCLE MIST - driver B Williamson reported he did not release the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
ROYAL AHEARN - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend and broke in consequence losing ground.
SEBASTIAN STARK - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Placed on the Unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer S Balloch.
THE GREEK FREAK - trotted roughly and lay inwards near the 900m striking and dislodging track markers.
SHE'S GOT SASS - weakened final bend.
SHAKEDOWN - broke shortly after the start hampering THE HUMBLE ONE losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
THE HUMBLE ONE - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Hung inwards and struck track markers rounding the first bend. Broke passing the 1300m losing ground. Following the race connections reported that the mare may have made abnormal breathing noises during the running. Stewards will follow up with trainer J Douglas in the coming days.
CLOUDY - trainer R Wilson was warned after presenting the gelding with sliding blinds not notified. Broke near the 700m after being shifted wider on the track losing its chance.
Race 2   AWARUA SYNERGY MOBILE PACE
PARADISE VALLEY - held up rounding the final bend and early stages of the run home.
ASK ME LOU - raced wide early.
SUPERFAST - raced wide early.
MONTAGE - raced wide early. Raced three wide with cover from the 1200m. Weakened final bend.
CALIFORNIA DREAMING - lay inwards and struck track markers near the 900m, then raced greenly for a distance losing ground.
GEMS DELIGHT - raced three wide without cover from the 1200m. Weakened final bend.
HAROLD HANOVER - late scratching on veterinary advice at 8.04am.
BETTER BE WATCHING - lay inwards rounding the bend near the 1400m striking a track marker.
GLENKENICK - cleared from the Unruly for future mobile starts.
Race 3   SOUTHLAND FARM SERVICES FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
SURE TO RISE - broke briefly in the score up however was in position at the start.
DELIGHTED - lay in throughout the run home having to be corrected by driver C Dalgety.
ROCKNROLL IVY - weakened final bend.
RAKASPADES - weakened final bend.
Race 4   HYDE LANDSCAPING MOBILE PACE
ARISTA - shifted ground outwards near the 1700m forcing SHERGAR wider on the track. Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule at this stage of the race, after viewing replays it was established that driver N Williamson had commenced his outwards movement prior to SHERGAR reaching his sulky wheel. Accordingly no further action was necessary.
SHERGAR - raced wider on the track near the 1700m.
CONQUER ROCK - weakened from the 800m. Driver O Kite reported that the mare had made abnormal breathing noises during the running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
NANA'S LITTLE TERROR - raced wide without cover from the 600m.
HOKONUI JOEL - the murphy blind was removed prior to the start due to the gelding warming up unfavourably. Broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Over-raced middle stages.
ACE OF SPADES - lay outwards in the score up and was then hampered at release when ADMIRAL STEVE lay inwards. Over-raced when being restrained to take cover in the early stages. Again over-raced through the middle stages.
ADMIRAL STEVE - lay inwards late in the score up briefly hampering an inside runner.
Race 5   DIAMOND CREEK/SBSR/NSTC SILK ROAD TROTTING SERIES HCP TROT
SPIRITINTHESKY - hampered by a weakening runner near the 900m.
HAIL STONE - weakened from the 900m hampering a trailing runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality. Stood down to trial in a competitive manner on two occasions to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.
MIXED FAITH - the lugging bar bit was removed prior to the start due to the mare warming up unfavourably. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
AROHA - broke rounding the final bend losing its chance.
TILLABERI - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
SHEILA LAXON - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
SAMANTHAS MOON - driver K Green reported a sulky tyre had deflated during the running.
Race 6   UNITED FISHERIES MOBILE PACE
NO PERFECT PRINCESS - over-raced middle stages. Raced greenly when weakening from the 600m hampering a trailing runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.
TRENDY VAN GOGH - raced wide early. Over-raced middle stages. Weakened from the 500m hampering a trailing runner.
SHOWCASE - raced wide early.
BOMBAY GLACIER - raced three wide throughout.
HAZER - raced wide early.
VINCHETTO - hung inwards and struck track markers rounding the first bend. Lay in again rounding the final bend striking track markers with one being dislodged. Driver N Williamson reported the gelding had hung throughout and he would be recommending gear changes.
MR PRESIDENT - hampered by weakening runners for a distance passing the 600m.
KENSI - hung outwards and raced greenly racing into the first bend becoming awkwardly placed to the sulky of EMERALD ABBEY and broke losing ground. Raced four wide without cover from the 900m.
Race 7   MOUNTFORT FISHING COMPANY MOBILE PACE
SHERWOOD MAGGIE - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
CRACKER OPIE - raced wide early.
MAGIC SIGN - raced wide early.
DURRANT - weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver N Williamson advised that the gelding had worked hard early however notwithstanding this he was disappointed with the effort. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
JUST LIKE JAGGER - raced wide early. Lay inwards and paced roughly having to be steadied near the 850m when there was a slight easing of the pace. Had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
JACCKA EVAN - raced wide early. Held up rounding the final bend.
Race 8   BARNES WILD BLUFF OYSTERS HANDICAP TROT
KYLE LOCH - became awkwardly placed to the inside of MISSILE near the 700m, resulting in the gelding making contact with the sulky wheel of OUR SUPERFUND and breaking in consequence, hampering trailing runners and losing all chance. After hearing from drivers A Kyle and N Williamson (MISSILE) in relation to this incident Stewards adjourned the matter to give it further consideration.
OUR SUPERFUND - hampered by a weakening runner rounding the final bend.
DOWNTOWN ORLANDO - driver B Orange reported he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
POPNROCK - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Again broke near the 2300m losing ground. Broke on a further occasion near the 2000m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
XERION - hampered by a breaking runner near the 700m.
AVEROSS MAJESTY - weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner.
OUR PINOCCHIO - broke at the start losing ground.
DOMINATION'S CALL - hampered by a breaking runner near the 700m.
MISSILE - trotted roughly at stages when negotiating the bends.
BRING ON THE MUSCLE - lay inwards rounding the bend near the 1800m striking track markers.
Race 9   SOUTH PORT NZ LTD BLUFF CUP (MOBILE PACE)
SPORTY CHARLIE - driver B Morris reported he sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 100m.
MR CASH MAN - raced three wide without cover until reaching the parked position passing the 1500m.
TUA LIPA - broke briefly entering the first bend losing ground. Raced wide from the 700m.
JAYAR MAC - had difficulty obtaining a clear run in the middle stages of the home straight and was then awkwardly placed and struck the sulky wheel of the weakening SPORTY CHARLIE when being restrained by driver E Barron and broke in consequence. After viewing the replays and hearing from Miss Barron no further action was deemed necessary.
Race 10   DIAMOND CREEK/SBSR SILK ROAD WINTER SERIES HT3 MOBILE PACE
DOUBLE QUICK - pre-race warmed. Lay out rounding the final bend and early stages of the run home.
AINT NO ANGEL - over-raced throughout causing driver B Williamson some difficulty. Held up early stages of the run home.
INDIANA ARDEN - raced wide early. Held up throughout the run home.
REMISSION - lay inwards near the 1100m and briefly locked sulky wheels with MALLORY MAGUIRE. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
INSARCHATWIST - held up early stages of the run home.
MALLORY MAGUIRE - briefly locked sulky wheels with REMISSION near the 1100m.
MIDNIGHT BABE - raced wide early.
