Race 1   BOOK NOW FOR MID-WINTER CHRISTMAS MOBILE PACE
KEVIN KLINE - broke near the 1450m when racing to the inside of GREASED LIGHTNIN hampering trailing runners losing ground.
LEO LINCOLN - over-raced middle stages. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 1450m.
TREACHEROUS BABY - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1450m.
GREASED LIGHTNIN - Authorisation of this runner's 1st placing was withheld to enable Stewards to view the replays and question Driver M McKendry (KEVIN KLINE), Junior Driver H Orange(GREASED LIGHTNIN), assisted by S Phelan, regarding the breaking of KEVIN KLINE near the 1450m. Mr McKendry stated that he felt his gelding had contributed to the incident by failing to respond when being steadied to concede the position on the leader's back. Given the circumstances Stewards did not proceed with a protest with Mr McKendry also not electing to proceed with a protest. Notwithstanding this Mr Orange was reminded of his obligations when shifting ground in the future.
Race 2   BORDER FENCING SERVICES TROT
HEAVENLY BELLE - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Broke briefly rounding the first turn. Authorisation of this runner's promoted 4th placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed that the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the request of connections.
IM A ROCKSTAR - broke passing the 1900m losing all chance.
BONNY PARKER - slow early stages losing considerable ground and trailed the field.
HAPPY HILL - trotted roughly rounding the final turn then broke near the 300m losing its chance. A protest was lodged against this runner's 4th placing under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging that the gelding had broken in excess of 150m. Connections did not contest the protest and HAPPY HILL was disqualified by Stewards. A warning was placed on HAPPY HILL's racing manners.
Race 3   2025 NATIONAL WEANLING SALE 26 JUNE MOBILE PACE
FRANCO SALAH - checked near the 2000m losing ground.
AUNTY ROSE - late scratching at 7.45am on veterinary advice.
KATAMA - Co-Trainers M & N Purdon were issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for presenting the filly to race with blinds which had not been notified. Broke approaching the 2000m after contacting the sulky wheel of BIG HERB which was crossing to the lead, checking and hampering trailing runners before settling. An investigation was held into this incident and after hearing from Junior Driver B Wilkins (KATAMA), assisted by T Herlihy, Driver M McKendry(BIG HERB) and viewing the replays it was established that KATAMA had over-raced when being crossed by BIG HERB contacting that runner's sulky wheel despite the efforts of Ms Wilkins. Broke again near the 1200m hampering a trailing runner losing its chance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormality. A warning was placed on the filly's racing manners.
BIG HERB - lay in and contacted a track marker near the 850m and then again when weakening near the 400m. Driver M McKendry reported that he sustained a punctured sulky tyre approaching the first turn.
NEW KID IN TOWN - lay in and raced over a track marker near the 250m. Continued to lay in over the early stages of the run home with Driver S Wigg being unable to activate the removable deafeners as a result.
TYTATE - commenced to over-race down the back straight the first time before being taking forward to lead near the 1300m. Continued to over-race from the 900m before contacting several track markers near the 750m. When questioned Driver M White advised that he had been placed at a disadvantage with the mare over-racing with Stewards taking the matter no further.
CALORIEFREE - hampered near the 2000m losing ground.
THE REVENANT - hampered near the 2000m losing ground. Hampered again by a breaking runner near the 1200m.
JOHNNY LINCOLN - hampered near the 2000m losing ground.
TIGHT LINES - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the colt's barrier manners.
Race 4   THE ALEX BAR & EATERY MOBILE PACE
COURTNEY ROSE - over-raced middle stages.
IRON BRIGADE - over-raced middle stages. Driver K Denifostova had difficulty activating the removable deafeners leaving the final turn.
MCKENDRICK - when questioned regarding the performance Co-Trainer R Dunn advised that he was disappointed with the effort and would be looking to increase the gelding's workload in training prior to resuming.
NELSON'S BOY - Trainer F Mitchell was warned for presenting the gelding to race with blinds instead of the notified sliding blinds.
Race 5   TAB - METRO TROTTERS FINAL MOBILE TROT
HIGHER POWER - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a mobile start prior to resuming. Hampered by a weakening runner final turn. Broke passing the 200m losing its chance. Co-Trainer S Phelan advised that the gelding would be turned out for a spell.
PARAMOUNT LADY - locked stays briefly with an outside runner near the 75m.
FREYA - broke leaving the final turn losing its chance.
SANS AU REVOIR - held up briefly near the 200m then again near the 75m when locking stays briefly with an inside runner.
CRAZY - pre-raced warmed.
BRAVEHEARTHIGHLANDER - raced wide early and middle stages. Weakened final turn hampering a trailing runner.
THAT'S WHAT WE DO - late scratching at 10.45am on veterinary advice.
SASSY STAR - lay in contacting a track marker rounding the final turn.
Race 6   TAB - METRO PACERS FINAL MOBILE PACE
SOUTH SIDE STORY - raced three wide early and middle stages.
JOES ROCK - raced four wide from the 700m.
HOORAY HENRY - held up over final 100m.
TWISTA - lay in contacting a track marker final turn.
Race 7   GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND - PUKEKOHE MOBILE TROT
CASTANA - broke at the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Weakened final turn. Driver T Hanara reported that she sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 500m. It was established that HIGH ENERGY had contacted the wheel when CASTANA shifted in marginally entering the turn. Stewards were satisfied that neither driver were solely at fault and took the matter no further.
MANCHESTER IN TIME - lay in on at various stages and in particular when weakening rounding the final turn contacting track markers near the 250m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
Race 8   ALABAR WEANLINGS SELLING 26 JUNE MOBILE PACE
DOMINUS - lay in rounding the final turn contacting a track marker.
BARBAROSSA - raced wide early.
LINCOLN LA MOOSE - over-raced middle stages. Held up early final turn.
Top
