Race 1   FRIDAY STEAK NIGHT AT THE CLUBHOUSE HANDICAP TROT
SUNNY ROBINSON - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the trainer's request.
MONARO MEG - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Weakened final bend.
SAXON REIGNS - broke at the start losing all chance and was retired from the event after breaking the near side boring pole. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
VAL THORENS - broke rounding the first bend losing considerable ground. Broke again near the 1400m losing further ground.
KISS MY PIXEL - back from position when the barriers were released impeding ALL MUSCLED UP. Weakened from the 700m. Driver G Martin admitted a breach of Rule 858(1)(f) in that he failed to come up into position at the start which resulted in interference to another runner. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Martin's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 6 June 2025 (2 days).
BARSUKOV - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
Race 2   MID-WINTER XMAS AT CAMBRIDGE RACEWAY ALL JULY MOBILE PACE
MR WONDERFUL - unable to hold the back of the leader MEDINA MAGIC near the 900m which enabled LUKAKU to shift down to fill the position.
KAWACTUS - over-raced early. Weakened from the 700m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
LUKAKU - Co-Trainers R & J Darby were warned for the late driver notification of J Darby.
DELIGHTFUL CHIC - over-raced middle stages. Driver C Wilson admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip free of the rein over 100m in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicate Committee suspended Mr Wilson's driver's licence from conclusion of racing tonight up to and including the 28 June 2025 (1 month).
MIDFREW LUCRE - raced wide early and middle stages. Driver J Kriechbaumer was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion near the 1100m and then again near the 1000m.
Race 3   NZMCA PARKING AT CAMBRIDGE RACEWAY MOBILE PACE
IM NOT THE MAID - weakened from the 400m.
ALWAYSBESECRET - Trainer N Chilcott was issued a warning for the late notification of herself as the driver and also as the driver of a stablemate in Race 4.
DIXIELAND DELIGHT - raced wide early.
AUCTIONEER - broke in the score up losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts.
DREAMS OF ERIC - Co-Trainers R Green & N Delany were issued a warning for failing to have the correct colours available.
CAULFIELD - a post-race veterinary and endoscopic examination at the request of Trainer D Butcher revealed early signs of a respiratory infection. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
RUN MASON RUN - Driver J Abernethy reported that the gelding cast a shoe during the score up.
Race 4   MVS EQUINE HOSPITAL HANDICAP TROT
PATRICK MAHOMES - Co-Trainers P & V Blanchard were warned for the late driver notification of their respective runners.
MAJESTIC BUNDY - over-raced on several occasions throughout placing Driver Z Butcher at considerable disadvantage.
LIAISON - weakened from the 400m.
RUBY RIDGE - Driver P Ferguson reported that he sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 500m.
DEL SHANNON - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Weakened final bend.
MAZEPPA - Junior Driver C Hackett, who declined assistance from a senior driver, admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that she drove carelessly passing the 500m when shifting ground and striking the sulky wheel of RUBY RIDGE. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250. Miss Hackett reported that she didn't activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
Race 5   MBS ADVISORS CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS MOBILE PACE
STAR OF AUCKLAND - back from position at dispatch. Driver T Cameron was issued with a warning.
HEARTS N ACES - over-raced middle stages.
ABITIBI - back from position at dispatch. Driver J Stormont was issued with a warning. Broke near the 400m losing its chance. A warning was placed on the filly's racing manners.
Race 6   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS MOBILE PACE
The start was delayed approximately 3 minutes due to a heavy shower which delayed the runners proceeding onto the track.
PROVISEUR - weakened final bend.
RED RACKHAM - weakened final bend.
Race 7   HAPPY BIRTHDAY GAYLEEN! MOBILE PACE
MASIE FLAK - broke at the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier manners. Weakened final bend.
ANN FRANK - pulled hard in the score up. Lay in at various stages throughout the running.
