B Weaver advised he had been injured and was replaced on his drive in Race 8 as per the summary below. Mr Weaver is required to provide a medical clearance prior to resuming driving.

Following Race 6 the track was downgraded to Slushy and trainers were directed to affix mudguards to their sulkies.

Race 4 - AOTEA ELECTRIC MOBILE PACE
Driver J Young-Grant (VERDUCCI) admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that she used her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mrs Young-Grant's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 25 May up to and including 6 June 2025 (3 days).

Race 1   RANGIORA HRC SUPPORTS ST JOHN MOBILE PACE
CAPTAIN CHRISTIAN - driver T Williams advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
MIDSUMMER DREAMING - over-raced early and middle stages. Weakened final bend.
ARDEN SEASCAPE - hung inwards at various stages throughout causing driver C Thornley some difficulty. Mr Thornley advised he would be recommending gear changes prior to the filly racing next.
CAPTAIN PUBLISHER - paced roughly leaving the final bend. Held up late in the run home.
Race 2   C ME 1ST PAINTERS PACE
MY WINGMAN - broke shortly after the start hampering trailing runners losing ground. Hung inwards rounding the final bend despite the efforts of driver S Thornley checking an inside runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
DANCING N HEAVEN - broke at the start losing ground. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages. Trainer J Morrison advised the horse would be restricted to mobile starts when possible in the immediate future.
BALLYSPELLANE - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Weakened early in the run home.
BEVERLEY COURTNEY - trainer R Todd was issued a warning for presenting the mare to race without the notified blinds. Broke at the start losing ground. Held up final bend and early in the run home. When questioned regarding the tactics he adopted driver R Close advised that after breaking in the early stages he elected to remain at the rear of the field and attempt to obtain cover in the three wide line from the 800m however ULTURA which he had been following had failed to progress forward leaving him poorly placed rounding the final bend. Stewards noted his comments.
BELLA CIAO - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Checked by a breaking runner leaving the final bend losing ground.
ULTURA - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Over-raced middle stages. Held up final bend and early in the run home. Driver C Thornley reported that the gelding had caused him difficulty when over-racing and he had been reluctant to improve wide on the track from the 700m as he felt he would have been forced out by inside runners resulting in him having to race very wide rounding the final bend.
PATRICE - checked and broke leaving the final bend when an outside runner hung inwards.
Race 3   ROAD METALS - YALDHURST MOBILE TROT
TRANSTASMAN BUBBLE - struck track markers early in the run home when improving into the passing lane. Driver J Curtin was issued a warning. Came together with WITHOUT COMPARISON late in the run home. Authorisation of 2nd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the sulky wheel had not protruded inside the marker line with the mare not gaining any advantage.
MODE - weakened in the run home.
WITHOUT COMPARISON - lay inwards and struck a track marker leaving the final bend. Came together with TRANSTASMAN BUBBLE late in the run home.
LOVEYOU TO DA SKYE - trainer G Smith was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for being late to present his runner onto the track. Broke near the 1300m losing considerable ground. Raced wide from the 600m before weakening and trotting roughly in the run home.
PEAKNMONKEY - held up early in the run home.
Race 4   CANTERBURY PLAINS CHALLENGE CONSOLATION MOBILE PACE
WESTAR MOLLY - held up by a weakening runner final bend.
HOPE FOR LOVE - driver S Tomlinson was issued a warning for using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion leaving the final bend and early in the run home.
HIT THE LIGHTS - weakened rounding the final bend hampering trailing runners. When questioned regarding the performance driver W House advised the mare had over-raced after being restrained to obtain cover in the early stages with the effort taking its toll.
MOTOR MOUTH - driver S Iremonger reported the gelding had hung outwards in the run home causing him difficulty when attempting to improve into the passing lane.
KRYSTAL DELIGHT - held up final bend and early in the run home by a weakening runner. When questioned about the improved performance, co-trainer B Hope advised Stewards that the mare had been suited to being saved for one run and has a good record at this track and distance of today's race.
HE'S TOUGH - late scratching at 9.40am on Veterinary advice.
BUDDY REIGN - held up final bend and early in the run home.
Race 5   ANNE THOMPSON TROTTERS GRADUATION FINAL (TROT)
MAROUBRA - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Weakened from the 600m.
A REASON TO FIGHT - broke at the start losing ground. Raced wide with cover from the 1400m. Weakened from the 600m.
MAJIC N THE PORT - lay inwards final bend striking a track marker.
JUST EASY - raced wide from the 1500m. Weakened final bend before being briefly crowded near the 300m.
MUSCLE DASH - lay inwards near the 300m briefly crowding an inside runner.
BIG AL - over-raced early and middle stages. Trotted roughly early in the run home.
WHAT THE DRAGON - the required veterinary clearance was received.
BULLET - paced away before breaking losing ground. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
SON E - broke near the 1900m losing ground. Trotted roughly near the 800m.
BILLY KIMBER - broke shortly after the start losing ground.

Race 6   AUTO SELF SERVE WAIMAK JUNCTION & GREYWACKE RD PACE
MYTHICAL - paced roughly final bend and in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance driver T Williams was unable to provide any explanation.
SUPER FUND - fractious prior to the start.
NASANA - trainer G Payne was issued a warning for failing to have mudguards affixed to his sulky. Fractious prior to the start. Broke at the start losing ground. Raced wide early.
MICK ALMIGHTY - driver R May was issued a warning for coming to the start out of position. Over-raced early stages. Broke near the 750m losing ground. Weakened final bend before breaking again leaving the final bend and was eased down by driver R May and retired from the race. Immediately attended to by the on-course Veterinarian and transported from the track in the Horse Ambulance. A post-race veterinary examination including x-rays revealed no significant abnormalities. Connections advised they will have the horse further examined in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
ZIA BROMAC - broke at the start losing ground. Broke again rounding the first bend losing ground.
DANCE MONKEY - the required veterinary clearance was received.
QUICKER THAN QUICK - hung inwards throughout the run home.
COUNTRY GOLD - broke at the start losing ground.
MYSTERY BEACH - broke at the start losing ground. Held up early in the run home.
Race 7   ANNE THOMPSON PACERS GRADUATION FINAL (MOBILE PACE)
SHE'S A MAJOR ACT - weakened final bend.
BEAUDIENE ALWAYS B - raced wide early. Forced to race wide from the 800m. Weakened final bend.
CELESTIAL SEA - when questioned regarding the tactics he adopted passing the 800m driver J Dunn advised that he was concerned LOCHDARRAGH may weaken rounding the final bend after leading through the middle stages and maintaining a solid tempo, so felt his best option was to shift away from the marker line to avoid being held up. Stewards noted Mr Dunn's comments.
BANKSY - hung inwards throughout the run home.
OHOKA COBRA - weakened final bend.
LOCHDARRAGH - raced wide early.
SPIRIT DOWNUNDER - raced wide early. Again raced wide from the 650m. When questioned regarding the performance driver R Close advised the gelding had been obliged to race wide on the final bend after being unable to improve in the middle stages due to the strong tempo and he was pleased with the effort.
CHRISTIES ART - weakened final bend.
BETTOR OFF - lay inwards throughout the run home.
ELEKTRA KING - raced wide from the 650m. When questioned regarding the performance driver T Williams advised the filly had been obliged to race wide rounding the final bend after being unable to improve in the middle stages due to the strong tempo and he was pleased with the effort.
Race 8   ROAD METALS - OAMARU MOBILE PACE
GIRLSHAVTIME - weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner.
HEAVEN - held up by a weakening runner final bend. Driver C DeFilippi was warned for the manner he drove racing into the first bend when crowding an inside runner.
SHAPELY - raced wide early. Weakened final bend hampering trailing runners.
LOUIS - raced wide early and middle stages.
SOFIA ROSE - raced wide early and middle stages.
DR GACHET - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
MY TEN GUITARS - crowded racing into the first bend having to be steadied. Raced wide from the 800m.
WOLF OF WALL STREET - held up by a weakening runner final bend.
Race 9   DAWE CONTRACTING MOBILE TROT
DRAGONHILL - held up early in the run home.
CROWN THE MOMENT - held up rounding the final bend.
GO HOME DENISE - weakened leaving the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Thornley advised he was disappointed with the effort and could provide no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Connections advised they will have blood tests taken from the mare in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.
ROYAL DIEDRE - trotted roughly passing the 1400m losing ground.
Race 10   FAREWELL FROM RANGIORA HRC UNTIL NEXT SEASON MOBILE PACE
ALLBETSROFF - weakened final bend.
MIKI BENNETT - raced wide early.
JACK TAR - raced wide from the 800m. Driver G Thornley was warned for the manner she drove near the 600m when crowding inside runners.
DON JUAN - raced wide early. Over-raced through the middle stages causing driver T Duley considerable difficulty.
DELIGHTFUL DREAMS - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
BAD HABITS - held up early and middle stages of the run home and paced roughly. Stewards questioned driver S Ottley regarding the tactics she adopted during the middle stages. Miss Ottley explained that the tempo had quickened near the 1000m mark, causing her runner to lose several lengths. As a result, she elected to shift inwards to save ground, given her runner was under pressure to maintain its position. Miss Ottley added the horse had then become held up rounding the final bend and in the run home behind tiring runners. After considering her explanation and viewing the replays Stewards were satisfied her actions were not unreasonable in the circumstances and took the matter no further.
SCARLETT'S LEGACY - over-raced middle stages. Crowded near the 600m having to be steadied.
