MR CASH MAN - over-raced middle stages. Held up early in the run home.
FRANCENT - raced wide final bend.
Race 2   T K PLASTERING 2YO MOBILE PACE
RISE N SHINE - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a mobile start prior to resuming. Weakened leaving the final bend.
RAKERO MAXIMUS - paced roughly final bend.
FUGITIVE - driver C Dalgety advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
Race 3   BAR STUDS HANDICAP TROT
DASH DOSH - broke at the start hampering trailing runners losing all chance. A warning was placed on the standing start manners of the filly.
TU TANGATA - driver P Nairn defended a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations alleging that he used his whip in a continuous manner in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr Nairn the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and Mr Nairn's driver's licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing on 23 May up to and including 6 June 2025 (4 days).
TIME FOR VICTORY - raced wide early.
DARK GHANA - broke near the 400m losing all chance.
CORMORAN STRIKE - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
COUNTLESS QUESTIONS - switched to a pace near the 1900m having to be broken up by driver B Munro losing all chance.
MAVIS JONES - raced wide early and middle stages. Weakened from the 700m.
DOMINATION'S CALL - hampered by a breaking runner after 100m and broke losing considerable ground. Weakened final bend.
MASTER CLASS -hampered by a breaking runner after 100m. Hung inwards final bend losing ground. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver K Butt advised the gelding had trotted roughly rounding the final bend and she was not disappointed with the effort.
Race 4   GREG & LEIGH AYERS CANTERBURY PLAINS CHALLENGE (MOB PACE)
JUDINE - held up final bend.
LORD MUDRICK - hampered by a weakening runner near the 700m. Driver C Butt admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Butt's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 25 May up to and including 6 June 2025 (3 days).
HES SANTAS EXCUSE - weakened final bend.
SARGENT BEST - weakened final bend.
RAPID RESPONSE - weakened from the 700m hampering trailing runners. When questioned regarding the performance driver T Chmiel advised the gelding had hung on several occasions during the running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
LOGAN ROCK - hampered by a weakening runner near the 700m.
NORMIE STEAD - held up final bend and early in the run home.
SPIRITUAL BLISS - over-raced when racing wide in the early stages.
FLYING FOR ME - over-raced when racing wide in the early stages. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts at the request of trainer D Reardon.
Race 5   RICO LODGE UNCUT GEMS MARES' CLASSIC (MOBILE PACE)
OKIWI BAY - over-raced middle stages. Held up late in the run home.
SWEET TARTAN - over-raced middle stages.
PLAYING WITH STARS - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver S Hill. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
TOPAZ - over-raced middle stages.
GEM N EM - paced roughly for a distance passing the 400m.
BEACH DAY - paced roughly leaving the final bend.
SWEET DIAMOND - when questioned regarding the performance driver T Chmiel advised the mare had hung on the bends and he was disappointed with the effort. Mr Chmiel was further questioned in relation to his driving near the 300m, during which the mare shifted outwards. He was advised to exercise greater control in the future to ensure his drives don't leave room for query.
TOKYO ROSE - raced wide from the 700m.
SOPHIA BROMAC - pre-race warmed.
Race 6   SPORT NATION - NZ 2YO TROTTING STAKES (MOBILE TROT)
DUCHESS MARIA - driver N Williamson advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
DAZZLED - broke as the start was effected losing all chance and was retired from the race. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
FLYING DREAMS - hung outwards in the early stages before breaking after 100m losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts.
BREWSTER BAKER - trotted roughly in the score up. Weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Dunn advised he was disappointed with the effort and connections would give consideration to sending the gelding for a spell.
Race 7   RICOH BIONIC CHANCE 2YO FILLIES BRACELET (MOBILE PACE)
MARINERS ROSE - hung outwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts.
COOL FOR CATS - lay inwards when weakening final bend striking track markers. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Dunn advised the filly had hung on various occasions during the running and he was disappointed with the effort. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
TREACHEROUS ME - lay outwards rounding the final bend.
THE QUEENS GAMBIT - over-raced middle stages. When questioned regarding the performance driver C Dalgety advised the filly had to work too hard early with the effort taking its toll.
IDEAL CROWN - Stewards opened and adjourned an investigation into the reasons for IDEAL CROWN pacing roughly after being shifted wider near the 600m. Driver C Ferguson admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Ferguson's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 23 May up to and including 2 June 2025 (4 days).

COCKTAILS AND CAVIAR - lay inwards near the 200m despite the efforts of driver T Chmiel placing an inside runner in restricted room.

MM SUNSHINE - late scratching at 9.30am on Veterinary advice.
FATHER TIME - held up final bend.
TI AMO BELLE - broke after 150m losing ground. Weakened near the 600m.
THE PRESENT MAKER - pre-raced warmed.
DREAMS PAT - broke passing the 1900m losing ground. Broke near the 1200m hampering a trailing runner losing ground. Broke again leaving the 800m losing all chance.
A HILL TWO MENNY - weakened final bend.
NELLIE DOYLE - broke near the 300m losing all chance.
EUROSTYLE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1200m. Raced wide from the 800m. Lay outwards throughout the run home. Driver K Butt advised she did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.

ARTFUL BROMAC - raced wide early. Weakened final bend.
GOT THE CHOCOLATES - raced wide early and middle stages.
AMERICAN BLAZE - weakened from the 700m. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Butt advised he felt the horse may have choked down. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
FIVE CROWNS - raced wide from the 800m. Weakened leaving the final bend.
FLASHPOINT - weakened leaving the final bend.
MALAKAI - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
MARKETPLACE - raced wide early.
Race 11   ACTION POWER & WATER SPORTS MOBILE PACE
TOBY TOM B - weakened leaving the final bend. A post-race veterinary examination at the request of connections revealed a slow recovery.
TIMES ARE A CHANGIN - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver J Dunn. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. The near side hopple connecting strap broke rounding the first bend with the mare being retired from the race. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
SOCIAL DISTANCING - lay inwards final bend striking a track marker.
MIKI FLYBYE - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver T Chmiel. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Lay outwards having to be straightened near the 100m briefly hampering an outside runner.
GATECRASHER - raced keenly middle stages. When questioned regarding the performance driver C Dalgety advised the gelding had not been suited by the tempo of the race and he was not disappointed with the effort.
