Race 1   BORDER FENCING SERVICES MOBILE PACE
GOTTA GO MIKI - broke entering the first turn and galloped for a considerable distance losing its chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
J T BOE - broke at the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Paced roughly at various stages throughout. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight.
MELODY BANNER - Co- Trainers S & A Telfer were issued a $50 Minor Infringement Notice for the late notification of gear.
AVENTADOR - Trainer T Hopkins was warned for presenting the gelding to race with removable deafeners which were not notified.
Race 2   NZ ONION CO. HANDICAP TROT
JOHNNY TROTTER - lay outwards near the 600m losing ground.
HAPPY HILL - pre-race warmed. Broke passing the 150m losing its chance.
MAJESTIC CRACKER - pre-race warmed.
NOD ANDA WINK - broke briefly rounding the first turn. Broke again near the 1300m hampering a trailing runner losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
WHATS UP THE HILL - switched to a pace entering the first turn losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming. A post-race veterinary examination at the request of connections revealed a laceration to the left fore which required treatment.
ALL MUSCLED UP - trotted roughly passing the 800m losing ground.
KENNY HILL - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1300m.
Race 3   DAYAVEG MOBILE PACE
FRANCO SALAH - held up early final turn and throughout the run home before racing over the final track marker when BEAUDIENE HUNTER lay inwards.
BEAUDIENE HUNTER - Driver J Dickie was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for contacting a track marker leaving the final turn.
CALORIEFREE - Stewards investigated a possible breach of the Push Out Rule near the 1750m when this runner appeared to force TIGHT LINES to race wider on the track, however after the viewing replays it was established that Driver T Macfarlane (CALORIEFREE) had commenced his outwards movement prior to TIGHT LINES (T Herlihy) reaching his sulky wheel and simultaneously raced greenly causing Mr Macfarlane some difficulty. Stewards elected not to take the matter any further other than to place a warning on the gelding's racing manners. Paced roughly rounding the final turn and lay inwards when being shifted wider on the track early in the run home. Again paced roughly throughout the run home.
ANN FRANK - raced wide from the 750m.
Race 4   DAILY FREIGHT HANDICAP TROT
HILLBILLY BLUES - lay outwards throughout the run home.
YA EEJIT YA - broke entering the first turn and galloped for a considerable distance losing ground before settling. Over-raced middle stages. Broke again near the 1200m losing its chance.
BOUNCE N BEYOND - a post-race veterinary and endoscopic examination at the request of connections revealed signs of a respiratory infection. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
HALBERG - lay inwards rounding the first turn contacting a track marker.
Race 5   PRIMOR PRODUCE - SOUTH OF THE BOMBAYS CONDITIONED MOB PACE
BENSON DUDE - returned to the stabling area during the Preliminary after the near side spreader broke which could not be replaced.
BROOKSIDE GIRL - briefly placed in restricted room by an outside runner leaving the final turn.
BENJAMIN BUTTON - over-raced middle stages and became awkwardly placed to the sulky of BET WEST placing Driver C Hackett at some disadvantage. Notwithstanding this Driver S Abernethy was spoken to advisedly for trailing too closely. Lay inwards leaving the final turn briefly placing an inside runner in restricted room.
I CAN TOO - broke early in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
OHOKA ACHILLES - over-raced middle stages.
MIKE ROSS - Stewards investigated a possible breach of the Push Out Rule entering the first turn when MIKE ROSS raced wider on the track after CHANGE TACT shifted out from the marker line. After viewing the replays it was established that Driver T Herlihy (CHANGE TACT) had commenced his outward movement prior to MIKE ROSS (P Ferguson) reaching his sulky wheel and no further action was deemed necessary. Briefly placed in restricted room leaving the final turn.
Race 6   POWELL TRANSPORT 46th NORTH ISLAND BREEDERS STAKES HCP PACE
DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER - lay outwards throughout the run home despite the efforts of Driver T Mitchell.
JOES ROCK - broke at the start but soon settled.
YOU LITTLE BEAUTY - Driver D Butcher was issued a warning for allowing his mare to shift inwards entering the first turn placing an inside runner in restricted room which contacted a track marker.
MHAI SURFER GIRL - contacted and dislodged a track marker entering the first turn when racing in restricted room.
MANTRA BLUE - over-raced down the back straight the final time. When questioned regarding the performance Driver Z Butcher advised that the mare had travelled well in the running however was disappointed with the effort over the closing stages. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
Race 7   BALLE BROS - SOUTH OF THE BOMBAYS CONDITIONED MOB PACE
SAVARNA - over-raced middle stages. Driver R Fensom had difficulty activating the removable deafeners in the run home. Mr Fensom was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
DEBRIEF - over-raced middle stages.
HEAVEN HIGH - lay inwards at various stages and in particular rounding the final turn when contacting track markers losing ground. Driver M Ranger advised that the gelding had locked on the outside rein placing her at a considerable disadvantage. A warning was placed on this runner's racing manners.
Race 8   JARVIS "SPUDMAN" MOBILE PACE
TREACHEROUS LOVE - weakened rounding the final turn hampering a trailing runner. When questioned regarding the performance Driver C Hackett advised she was disappointed with the effort however could offer no tangible reason.
SEACLUSION - hampered briefly by a weakening runner rounding the final turn.
