Race 1   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS MOBILE PACE
BETA PREPARE - shifted out on straightening for the run home but was corrected by driver D Butcher.
ALWAYS FLYIN - raced wide early and middle stages.
LINCOLN LA MOOSE - approval was given for the murphy blind to be removed prior to the start after the gelding failed to warm up favourably. Over-raced middle stages. Held up throughout the run home.
TREACHEROUS LOVE - weakened leaving the final turn. When questioned regarding the performance driver C Hackett could offer no explanation for the disappointing effort. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormality. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
Race 2   GARRARDS HORSE AND HOUND HANDICAP TROT
VERONICA JANE - broke near the 1750m losing ground. Had difficulty obtaining clear running early in the run home.
PRESIDENT FLYNNTIN - forced wider by an inside runner near the 1150m and raced wide for the remainder before weakening leaving the final turn.
BARSUKOV - Driver L Chin admitted a charge under Rule 869(4)(6)(b)(c) in that he shifted his gelding outwards near the 1150m forcing an outside runner to race wider on the track. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200.
ULTIMATE MOMENT - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
MAJESTIC BUNDY - raced wide early.
KAIPAKI JACK - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
Race 3   WEDNESDAY QUIZ NIGHT AT THE CLUBHOUSE MOBILE PACE
BOOT SCOOTIN BOOGIE - checked and broke near the 1400m hampering trailing runners before settling. Driver J Brownlee was warned for failing to take his breaking runner clear of trailing runners when the opportunity existed. Mr Brownlee admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip free of the rein on one occasion and with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300.
EYES TO HEAVEN - Driver K Hall admitted a charge under 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly approaching the 1400m when shifting ground inwards resulting in BOOT SCOOTIN BOOGIE being checked and breaking. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Hall's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 6 June 2025 (1 month).
ONETANGI GIRL - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1400m losing ground.
MIDFREW LUCRE - back from position at dispatch. Driver J Kriechbaumer was issued with a warning. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 1400m losing ground.
BENJAMIN BUTTON - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1400m losing ground.
Race 4   MID-WINTER CHRISTMAS TICKETS ON SALE NOW TROT
SASSY STAR - Driver M White reported he had not activated the deafeners due to having the field covered.
GRACE N ELEGANCE - when questioned regarding the performance Driver Z Butcher advised that the mare had received every opportunity however had only battled in the run home.
LIGHT O LOVE - slow early.
RISE TO THE OCCASION - hung inwards on several occasions during the running causing Driver B Butcher difficulty and in particular passing the 1000m which resulted in trailing runners being hampered. Continued to lay in throughout the run home and could not be fully driven out.
SHARP IMAGE - Driver J Stormont reported he received a punctured sulky tyre near the 1000m when contacted by the trailing BOSS JO when both runners were hampered by an easing of the pace when RISE TO THE OCCASION hung inwards. Mr Stormont further advised that he then elected to shift down to the marker line near the 700m in an attempt to save ground so as to assist his gelding's chances.
BOSS JO - contacted the sulky wheel of SHARP IMAGE when hampered near the 1000m with the tyre puncturing.
ALL MUSCLED UP - Driver S Dickson was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
SUNNY ROBINSON - broke entering the first turn after having shifted an inside runner down on to the marker line and lost all chance.
Race 5   OFF THE TRACK FOOD & BEV MOBILE PACE
DESERT DAWN - when questioned regarding the apparent improved performance Trainer/Driver A Poutama advised that the gelding had derived benefit from the notified gear change of the addition of blinds and been able to set its own terms in front throughout.
J T BOE - over-raced middle stages. Checked by a breaking runner near the 200m losing ground.
ST JOHN EIGHT - broke near the 200m checking a trailing runner and lost all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
MURTLE THE TURTLE - locked wheels briefly with an inside runner on two occasions over the final stages. Driver J Abernethy was warned for using his whip free of the rein on one occasion in the run home.
WON AND ONLY - over-raced middle stages. When questioned regarding the performance Driver C Hackett advised that over-racing in the middle stages had taken its toll on the filly. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormality. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
CAPTAIN ZENZI - had difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight before locking wheels briefly with an outside runner on two occasions over the final stages.
Stewards spoke with Starter D Blakemore after the false start red light flashed on one occasion when the start was declared.
Race 6   HIRE A VENUE AT CAMBRIDGE RACEWAY MOBILE PACE
OHOKA ACHILLES - shifted outwards near the 170m but was corrected by Driver M Ranger.
I CAN TOO - broke early in the score up but was in position at the candy pole. Over-raced briefly when CHANGE TACT improved to its outside approaching the 1000m. Driver B Butcher reported he was unable to activate the deafeners due to the cord breaking.
GREAT WHITE - late scratching on Veterinary advice at 3.43pm.
Race 7   NZMCA PARKING AT CAMBRIDGE RACEWAY HCP TROT
KC'S PRINCESS - mixed its gait over the early stages losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
CHESINOV - slow early and trailed the field throughout. Stood down to trial on one occasion from a stand to the satisfaction of a Steward prior to resuming.
Race 8   FRIDAY STEAK NIGHT AT THE CLUBHOUSE MOBILE PACE
KOWALSKI - when questioned regarding the performance Driver Z Butcher advised that the filly had received every opportunity but had only battled in the run home.
IFINDOUBT - broke late in the score up losing ground. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners.
MOENUI MISS - had to be steadied off the back of KOWALSKI near the 1050m.
