Stewards questioned driver C Negus regarding the tactics she adopted passing the 1200m when electing not to shift wider when an opportunity existed. After hearing her explanation Stewards issued a charge under Rule 868(2) alleging she failed to take all reasonable and permissible measures to win or obtain the best possible finishing place by failing to shift outwards near the 1200m to race in the one one position. Mrs Negus admitted the breach however during the course elected to change her plea and defend the charge with the matter being adjourned by the Adjudicative Committee until the NZ Metropolitan TC meeting on 19 April 2025. | |
