HERE'S JOHNY - when questioned regarding the tactics he adopted near the 1700-metre mark when shifting from a trailing position to race in the running line, Driver P Hunter explained that the gelding performs better when there is genuine pace in the race. Mr. Hunter added that, as the pace eased momentarily during the middle stages, he believed his best option was to attempt to take the lead in order to maintain a genuine tempo. However, he was ultimately unable to do so. Stewards noted Mr. Hunter's explanation. | |
