Due to the plane carrying Drivers S Abernethy, K Coppins and H Orange being unable to land and diverted back to Auckland these Drivers were replaced on their respective driving engagements as per the Summary below. Stewards also authorised Drivers P Ferguson (Race 3) and J Abernethy (Race 4) to change to other runners out of necessity due to the driver shortage. Pre-race blood testing was carried out. |

KOKO KABOOM - pre-race warmed. Slow to begin then broke shortly after the start but soon settled. Driver W House reported he did not activate the deafeners due to having the field covered. | |
MR MONTY - slow to begin. Raced wide from the 950m. Commenced to weaken near the 500m. | |
KISS MY PIXEL - weakened leaving the final turn. | |
BOYZ INVASION - over-raced middle stages. Weakened final turn. | |
TINKERBELLE - had to be steadied near the 500m after becoming awkwardly placed to the sulky of the weakening MR MONTY. Broke approaching the 100m losing its chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners. | |
KD ROYALTY - over-raced briefly entering the back straight the final time. |

MATAI LIZZIE - broke near the 1750m hampering a trailing runner losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners. Weakened from the 500m. | |
FREDASTAIRE - raced wide early. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 1750m. Weakened leaving the final turn. When questioned regarding the performance Driver J Abernethy advised that after losing ground near the 1750m he was then obliged to race parked outside the leader when unable to find the front with the effort taking its toll. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality. |

MATAI HARRY - lay in passing the 1750m losing ground and continued to lay in rounding the turns. Raced wide without cover from the 800m. | |
I CAN TOO - had difficulty obtaining clear running throughout the home straight. |

THE ELITE ATHLETE - held up throughout the run home when unable to secure clear racing room. | |
JAHI - raced wide early. | |
HIT THE LIGHTS - over-raced early and middle stages. | |
LORTON VALE - pulled hard in the score up. Raced wide early before being restrained to the rear. | |
VICTOR BRAVO - broke at the start losing all chance and was retired from the race by Driver S Dickson. Stood down to complete one mobile trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming. |

HEARTS N ACES - when questioned regarding the performance Trainer/Driver B Butcher advised the gelding was not travelling well enough to move three wide at the point of the race LA MIKI had improved, however he also stated he was happy with the run. | |
JETASI - pulled hard in the score up. | |
BET ON POLLY - when questioned regarding the improved performance Driver J Abernethy was of the opinion the mare was better suited to the tempo of tonight's race. |
