STRIKE IT LUCKY - slow to begin. Weakened from the 600m. When questioned regarding the performance driver R May was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
SWITCH ON - over-raced middle stages. Weakened final bend.
Race 2   AUTO SELF SERVE WAIMAK & GREYWACKE RD MOBILE PACE
GLIDING HIGH - hampered by a weakening runner final bend. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room early in the run home.
GIRLSHAVTIME - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
SEARING LIGHT - raced wide early.
NORMIE STEAD - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
HE'S TOUGH - raced wide early. Weakened final bend hampering trailing runners.
KRYSTAL DELIGHT - shifted outwards passing the 600m and contacted the wheel of ZIA BROMAC and briefly paced roughly in consequence. Driver C Wigg was issued a warning.
ONWARDSANDUPWARDS - driver N Munro was issued a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion on the run home.
Race 3   THE BROOK BAR & EATERY TROT
There was a delay to the start when KD GRINS required a gear adjustment.
NOBILO - trainer G Dunn was issued a warning for presenting the gelding to race with blinds which had not been notified.
BRIGHTMAN - broke after 150m losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer/driver K Cameron.
KD GRINS - broke rounding the first bend losing all chance.
WHISPERING MAJESTIC - weakened near the 500m. Returned to the assembly area with a small amount of blood present in its mouth. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
SOMETHING ELSE - weakened at the 700m. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver P Nairn was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
B K MUMMA JAMIE - broke at the start losing ground. Weakened near the 600m.
SHE'S GOT SASS - broke near the 2100m losing all chance. Cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
LOVE YOU WILMA - trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
KAMILLA - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
Race 4   NCT REMEMBERS DAVEY ROWE TROT
MUSCLYNN - hampered by a breaking runner leaving the final bend.
MODE - broke leaving the final bend hampering trailing runners losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
DOWNTOWN ORLANDO - broke rounding the first bend losing ground. Hampered by a breaking runner leaving the final bend. Broke again early in the run home losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
DIEDRE FRANCO - lay inwards on the bends. Driver C Thornley advised the mare had been difficult to steer rounding the final bend.
Race 5   THE ANGLERS ARMS MOBILE PACE
SOFIA ROSE - over-raced middle stages. Weakened rounding the final bend.
DANCE WITH THE BOSS - paced roughly throughout the run home.
GLADYS GREENLAND - raced wide early.
SOCIAL DISTANCING - over-raced middle stages. Lay inwards striking a track marker rounding the final bend.
STEPHS BOY - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
LONNEKERS - paced roughly racing into the first bend when racing wide. Lay inwards when being shifted wider by an inside runner near the 500m with the gelding's hind leg making contact with that runner before breaking and losing all chance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
DESTINY DANCE - broke in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
COUNTRY GOLD - held up throughout the run home.
Race 6   THE KAIKANUI TAVERN (JUNIOR DRIVERS) PACE
MAJOR HENRY - broke at the start losing ground. Stewards investigated a possible breach of the Push Out Rule near the 1600m when MAJOR HENRY shifted outwards with ARCHIE racing wider on the track. After speaking with junior driver R Harrison (assisted by J Dunn) and viewing the replays it was established that several runners had been racing loosely and as the replays were inconclusive no further action was taken. Notwithstanding this Miss Harrison was reminded of her obligations when shifting ground.
RAKERO LIGHTNING - broke at the start losing ground. Weakened from the 600m. Stewards will follow up with trainer S Reid in the coming days.
FRANCO ELVIS - driver H Sail advised he was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
QUICKER THAN QUICK - raced inside a track marker rounding the final bend. Driver S Thornley was issued a warning.
GATECRASHER - broke at the start losing ground.
HI HOPES - lay outwards throughout the run home.
THE CONQUEROR - weakened rounding the final bend.
ARCHIE - raced wider on the track near the 1600m.
Race 7   CONGRATS 50 YEARS MARRIED GREG & ANNETTE WRIGHT MOBILE PACE
TWEEDY - held up rounding the final bend. Driver K Butt advised she had attempted to shift wider to obtain clear running however the filly had commenced to lay inwards causing her difficulty.
NICKEL AND DIME - raced wide early. Hung inwards through the middle stages.
ROCKOUTRAY - lay outwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a mobile start prior to resuming.
MY WINGMAN - held up final bend.
DAISY DIANA - held up throughout the run home.
Race 8   RESONATE HEALTH MOBILE PACE
ONELOVEONELIFE - over-raced middle stages.
BETTERWITHBLING - raced wide early.
THE MANDALORIAN - raced wide early.
VINRULES - over-raced middle stages. Weakened at the 1100m and was retired from the race. Driver J Dunn advised he believed the gelding had choked down. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
WOODLEA DIAMOND - raced three wide without cover from the 1300m.
Race 9   REMEMBERING BRIAN BORCOSKIE TROT
TRANSTASMAN BUBBLE - checked and broke rounding the first bend losing all chance.
POPNROCK - broke rounding the first bend checking a trailing runner losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
TESSAMAE - broke near the 1400m losing all chance.
LOVEYOU TO DA SKYE - broke near the 1500m losing ground. Broke again near the 850m losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
HIGH NOON - broke rounding the first bend losing ground.
Race 10   REMEMBERING ALEX "GRIZZ" WYLLIE MOBILE PACE
LUNA DOLCE - paced roughly before breaking and shifting inwards near the 100m hampering a trailing runner losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
ZARLINI - hampered by a weakening runner near the 600m.
BETTOR GO VINNIE - hampered by a weakening runner near the 600m.
ELUSIVE DREAMS - hampered by a weakening runner near the 600m. Held up early in the run home. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 100m.
GRAZIE - raced wide early. Shifted into the passing lane early in the run home. Driver K Butt was shown the replay of her drive early in the run home and reminded of her obligations to ensure the passing lane is available to trailing runners at all times. When questioned regarding the performance Miss Butt advised the filly had not been suited to racing in the parked position and had over-raced with the effort taking its toll over the concluding stages.
CRUNCH TIME - raced wide early.
WHO'S YOUR DRAGON - hampered by a weakening runner near the 600m.
MARYANNE GOLIGHTLY - broke early in the score up losing ground however was in position at the start. Weakened from the 600m. When questioned regarding the performance driver R Holmes advised the filly had over-raced in the score up and had worked hard in the early stages to obtain the lead. Mr Holmes added the filly had continued to over-race with the effort taking its toll over the concluding stages. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
