Stewards lodged a protest against 4th placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation in that the gelding was not in the correct gait for more than 50m inside the final 200m. Connections did not contest the protest and WHATS UP THE HILL was disqualified by Stewards. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners. | |

Driver M Purdon admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly by allowing his runner to shift inwards near the 1400m when not sufficiently clear causing interference to LITTLE SPIKE which broke losing all chance. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Purdon's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 4 April up to and including 22 April 2025 (4 days). | |

DUCHESS MEGXIT - when questioned regarding the performance Driver T Herlihy stated he was satisfied with the run given the class of the field and the tempo throughout in what was the mare's first race for three weeks. | |
MERLIN - pre-race warmed. Driver Z Butcher was questioned in relation to an incident near the 1100m where KANGO was able to shift away from the marker line. Mr Butcher stated that Driver D Butcher (KANGO) had been clear to commence the shift with MERLIN then improving to be outside that runner's wheel before he was able to steady the entire back down into the running line. Mr Butcher also advised that the off side shortener pin had released prematurely prior to him activating the remaining shortener pin near the 1000m. |
