Trainer J Abernethy advised Stewards on 25 March that blood tests taken from MR WONDERFUL have come back clear and the entire will trial before resuming.

Race 1   NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS TICKETS ON SALE NOW HCP TROT
ANASTASIA ASHLEY - weakened leaving the final turn.
MONARO MEG - over-raced middle stages.
BOSS JO - slow early losing considerable ground. Trotted roughly near the 1300m when trailing the field. Broke passing the 800m losing all chance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
HENRIK LUNDQVIST - slow early. Broke briefly near the 1750m. Weakened in the run home.
Race 2   BETCHA MOBILE PACE
SHOWTYM GIRL - late scratching at 4.35pm on Veterinary advice.
MIDFREW LUCRE - Driver J Kriechbaumer was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
STICKIFINGERS - when questioned regarding the performance Trainer/Driver M House stated that the mare had over-raced during the early and middle stages and may not of been suited to racing without cover.
PROVISEUR - over-raced middle stages.
Race 3   LEWIS LAWYERS MOBILE PACE
RAGNAR LOTHBROK - Driver C Hackett reported that she did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
MONTE CRISTO - paced roughly rounding the final turn.
ALWAYS B MINE - paced roughly for several strides near the 900m.
TUAREG - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a mobile start prior to resuming. Broke near the 1800m and then again passing the 1300m losing its chance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the near fore pastern. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
Race 4   GAVELHOUSE.COM MOBILE TROT
EMILY BAY - held up briefly by a weakening runner near the 300m.
BOYZ INVASION - weakened from the 900m hampering a trailing runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormality. A warning was placed on the gelding's performance.
PRESIDENT FLYNNTIN - hampered by a weakening runner near the 800m.
BANGKOK BETTY - over-raced middle stages. Weakened final turn and lay in contacting track markers.
TINKERBELLE - raced wide early. Trotted roughly under pressure late in the run home.
TRIFOLIUM - pre-race warmed. Broke early in the score up but was in position at the candy pole.
Race 5   BETAVET BUILDAGUT MOBILE PACE
HIT THE LIGHTS - held up early in the run home.
ANNA - Trainer J Stephens was issued a warning for presenting this runner without the notified pacifier. Broke at the start and settled at the rear. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners. Broke near the 1800m when to the inside of HIT THE LIGHTS losing considerable ground. Stewards questioned drivers A Poutama (ANNA) and S Burley (HIT THE LIGHTS) in relation to this incident and it was established that Ms Burley had been clear to shift HIT THE LIGHTS down to the marker line but ANNA had failed to respond to being restrained to concede the position and then galloped. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming. Weakened in the run home.
ULTIMATE MACH - raced wide early before obtaining a position towards the rear in the running line.
Race 6   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS MOBILE TROT
ROCK ON JAZZ - slow early. Weakened rounding the final turn.
HIGHVIEW ROCKN ROLL - broke rounding the first turn losing considerable ground then settled in a pace losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
ULTIMATE MOMENT - raced wide early. Weakened rounding the final turn.
MAZEPPA - broke at the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Shifted out on straightening for the run home when Driver C Hackett activated the deafeners but was immediately corrected.
Race 7   NOC SLOTS BARRIER REVEAL 1ST APRIL MOBILE PACE.
MATAI LIZZIE - had to be restrained near the 950m when hampered by HERB. Driver W House was spoken to advisedly in relation to the manner in which he used his whip at this stage when attempting to improve to the inside of HERB to clear that runner.
GOORAMBAT ART - checked and lost ground when locking wheels with HERB for some distance near the 1050m.
DOCTOR TIM - Driver K Coppins was warned for using her whip free of the rein on one occasion in the run home.
IM NOT THE MAID - lay in passing the 200m.
HERB - shifted out passing the 1100m after the driving bit broke and locked wheels with GOORAMBAT ART for some distance and was then retired from the event with the assistance of the Clerk of the Course near the 600m. Authorisation of placings was briefly withheld until Stewards were satisfied that there was no provision to declare HERB a non runner and placings were duly authorised. Both HERB and Driver C Hackett were uninjured in this incident. The gear was inspected with Co-Trainers M Wallis & B Hackett found not to be at fault.
