LINCOLN LOVER - raced wide early before improving forward approaching the bell but was then obliged to continue racing three wide without cover for the remainder. | |
YANKEE FLYBYE - Driver A Poutama reported he sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 50m when contacted by ALLAMERICANPLAYER which had an outside runner shifting ground inwards contributing to the incident. Given the circumstances Stewards took the matter no further. |

BIG MIKI - permission was granted for the rein burr to be removed prior to the start after the filly failed to warm up favourably. Paced roughly rounding the final turn and lay in contacting several track markers. Broke near the 150m losing its chance. Stewards lodged a protest against this runner's 4th placing under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the filly had broken in excess of 50m inside the final 200m. Connections did not contest the protest and BIG MIKI was disqualified by Stewards. A warning was placed on the filly's racing manners. | |
LINCOLN LINDA - pulled hard in the score up. Continued to over-race early stages before being taken forward to lead near the 1000m. | |
SPIRIT OF TUPELO - when questioned Driver T Mitchell advised that he had elected to shift out off the leader's back near the 600m as he felt the filly would be best suited to being allowed to roll at that stage rather than have the race develop into a sprint home. |
