Stewards lodged a protest against this runner's 2nd placing firstly under Rule 869A(2) on the grounds of alleged interference to the 4th placed EYRE I WILL by virtue of that runner being obliged to race wide when unable to cross the breaking ITAINTNECESSARILYSO and secondly under Rule 870(2)(c) on the grounds that ITAINTNECESSARILYSO had gained an advantage over EYRE I WILL when failing to lose ground whilst in the break. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from all parties, the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the protest. | |

After viewing the replays Stewards were not sufficiently satisfied that this was the case with Mr Cameron then declining the opportunity to seek a ruling on the matter from the Adjudicative Committee. LORD POPINJAY - pre-race warmed. Commenced to over-race approaching the 800m after shifting KYVALLEY HOTSPUR wider on the track. Trotted roughly in the run home when weakening. When questioned regarding the performance Driver M White advised that over-racing in the middle stages had taken its toll. | |
