Race 1   D S ELECTRICAL HANDICAP TROT
The start was delayed approximately 2 minutes due to a power outage with the TAB.
MONARO MEG - over-raced middle stages.
BANGKOK BETTY - lay in near the 2150m contacting a track marker. Broke leaving the final turn losing all chance.
TINKERBELLE - permission was given for this runner to race in the Trainer's colours. Broke briefly at the start losing ground. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 250m.
SO MYSTIFYING - trotted roughly racing into the first turn losing considerable ground. Broke near the 250m hampering a trailing runner losing all chance.
Race 2   BRYANT-WALKER MOBILE PACE
RUTHERFORD - over-raced middle stages. Had difficulty obtaining clear running throughout the home straight before pacing roughly near the 30m.
SCOTT - lay out during the score up. Lay out again on straightening for the run home and shifted wider despite the efforts of Driver D Ferguson. Mr Ferguson was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
TRES BONNE FILLE - over-raced middle stages.
CHEVAL NOIR - raced greenly approaching and rounding the first turn losing ground. When questioned regarding the performance Driver W House advised the mare had raced greenly at various stages and would derive benefit from the run.
Race 3   MICHAEL HOUSE STABLES HANDICAP TROT
BOYZ INVASION - held up early final turn.
HENRIK LUNDQVIST - broke briefly racing into the first turn. Trotted roughly near the 1950m. Weakened from the 700m. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing performance.
HIGHVIEW ROCKN ROLL - trotted roughly near the 100m then broke approaching the 50m and failed to settle. Stewards lodged a protest against this runner's 2nd placing under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the mare had broken in excess of 50m inside the final 200m. Connections did not contest the protest and HIGHVIEW ROCKN ROLL was disqualified by the Stewards. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
KING OF DIAMONDS - broke shortly after the start losing ground.
SWEET OLIVIA - broke near the 700m losing all chance.
Race 4   ARNA DONNELLY STABLES MOBILE PACE
MIDFREW LUCRE - held up early final turn and then had difficulty obtaining clear running early and middle stages of the home straight.
HIT THE LIGHTS - raced wide early.
MIKE ROSS - briefly hampered near the 1050m.
BECKER - lost contact with the body of the field rounding the first turn. Weakened leaving the final turn.
ADJOURNMENT - had to be steadied off the back of SHOWTYM GIRL near the 1050m with a trailing runner being briefly hampered. Weakened leaving the final turn.
Race 5   CARTOWN MANAWATU CUP PRELUDE HANDICAP PACE
LORD DELMAR - broke at the start losing ground. Over-raced middle stages. Placed on the Unruly for future stands at the request of Trainer J Gommans.
STEALERS WHEEL - Trainer D Gale advised the gelding has had its off-side knee treated since last racing. Lay in contacting track markers near the 1200m and then again rounding the final turn.
IDOLOU - Driver L Hibell was issued with a $100 Minor Infringement for contacting track markers rounding the first turn.
LEO LINCOLN - held up final turn and then had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.
FREDASTAIRE - Driver J Abernethy reported that he had been unable to activate the deafeners due to the clip spreading.
GOTTA ELECT BILL - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
ROUGH AND READY - when questioned Driver C Hackett explained that she had dropped her right foot from the sulky rest approaching the 1050m to reposition the cord for activation.
Race 6   EQUIVETS NZ MOBILE PACE
CALL SECURITY - held up final turn and early in the run home.
BENJAMIN BUTTON - over-raced middle stages. Held up throughout the run home.
ONETANGI GIRL - Trainer J Abernethy was warned for presenting the mare without the notified anti-choke device which was affixed prior to the start. Underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination after contacting the birdcage fence and was cleared to start.
BENSON DUDE - paced roughly then broke briefly entering the first turn.
UNCLE DREW - pulled hard score up.
Race 7   OUTBACK TRADING MOBILE PACE
ONYX SHARD - raced wide early.
GOORAMBAT ART - over-raced when caught wide in the early stages before being taken forward to race outside the leader near the 1300m.
CAPTAIN KOBE - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Held up rounding the final turn and early in the run home.
LEWEY MAGUIRE - Co-Trainers S and A Telfer were issued with a $50 Minor Infringement for the late notification that the gelding would be racing with sliding blinds. Lay out at various stages.
PLAY THE ACE - pulled hard score up.
Race 8   POWER FARMING MOBILE PACE
BLUE CHIP LOU - held up early in the run home and paced roughly for several strides near the 150m.
STICKIFINGERS - over-raced middle stages.
LINCOLN LA MOOSE - lay out leaving the final turn. Driver P Ferguson reported he had not activated the deafeners due to having the field covered.
Race 9   MEMBERS MOBILE PACE
MATAI LIZZIE - raced wide early before pacing roughly for a distance passing the 1750m having to be steadied.
JETASI - held up throughout the run home.
