Race 6 - SANTANA MINERALS LTD MOBILE PACE
Trainer B Waldron defended a charge under Rule 864(1)(2)(a) and the Approved Gear Regulations alleging that FRANCO CHAPLIN raced in unapproved gear due to the nose flap protruding past the horse's nose. After viewing replays and hearing evidence from Stewards, Judge B Young and Mr Waldron the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and following penalty submissions imposed a fine of $450.

SONNY JIM - lay inwards final bend striking a track marker.
MASS DISRUPTION - slow to begin.
MAJESTIC DAUGHTER - broke passing the 1100m losing ground. Broke again near the 700m losing all chance. Stood down to trial on one occasion to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.
ISOBEL - trotted roughly early stages.
DONT LOOK KOBE - broke leaving the final bend losing all chance.
WHISPERING MAJESTIC - raced wide early. Lay outwards throughout the run home.
MAJESTIC CHALLEN - fractious prior to the start. Broke near the 1000m losing all chance.

Race 2   McNULTY'S TRANSPORT MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared when COURTNEY FORCE shifted outwards in the score up checking a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Driver R Close elected to remain in his allocated barrier position for the restart. Placed on the Unruly for future mobile starts.
MATAI LIZZIE - paced roughly in the early stages. Held up early in the run home.
VINCHETTO - lay outwards in the run home.
HILLARY - lay inwards throughout the run home.
TOP POCKET CHANCE - broke racing into the first bend losing ground.
COURTNEY FORCE - when spoken to regarding the improved performance connections advised the mare had been racing recently without luck and is best suited when saved for one run as was the case today.
CRUISING FONTANA - fractious prior to the restart and was sent to the Unruly position by the Starter. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
REIVER - the boring pole was removed prior to the restart. Paced roughly near the 1400m.
LA BAMBA - paced roughly at various stages throughout.
Race 3   WOOING TREE VINEYARD / BP WORKSHOP CROMWELL MOBILE PACE
FRANCO TIM - briefly crowded near the 700m and raced inside a track marker.
HAROLD HANOVER - weakened leaving the final bend. Lay inwards near the 700m briefly crowding an inside runner.
SUMMIT ULTRA - raced wide early.
MATAI HARRY - raced wide early. Held up middle stages of the run home.
POUNAMU - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
MIKI'S BEAUTY - raced wide from the 1000m.
HAVARTI ARDEN - raced three wide with cover from the 1000m.
Race 4   SHANNON FARM MOBILE PACE
MIGHTY MIKI - paced roughly in the early stages. Over-raced middle stages. Severely checked by a breaking runner near the 500m losing all chance.
GATI - broke near the 500m and faltered severely checking trailing runners and was retired from the race. The mare was immediately attended to by the on-course veterinarian and found to have fractured the near hind cannon bone being humanely euthanised before being removed from the track in the Horse Ambulance.
BEYOND DOUBT - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
BLUE BOY - severely checked by a breaking runner near the 500m losing all chance.
NANA'S LITTLE TERROR - lay inwards early in the run home and was unable to be shifted wider on the track despite the efforts of driver R Close. Paced roughly near the 150m.
ABULL - broke near the 100m and failed to settle. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
AVA DALE - paced roughly near the 200m.

BISMARCK DU PLESSIS - lay outwards throughout the run home.
FRANCO CHAPLIN - lay outwards and paced roughly racing into the first bend. Weakened leaving the final bend.
PENNY WEIGHT - broke racing into the first bend briefly hampering a trailing runner losing ground. Held up middle stages of the run home.
THE ORANGE ROUGHY - raced wide early. Briefly hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
SHE'S A JEWEL - raced wide from the 800m.
ULTIMATE WEAPON - raced wide final bend.
LIGHT ME UP - over-raced middle stages.
MIDNIGHT BABE - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.

Race 6   NIGHT 'N DAY CROMWELL TROT
SON OF THE CLEANER - broke racing into the first bend and continued on in a break for a considerable distance before being retired from the race by driver B Orange. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
SUPERFAST GORSEY - made contact with the sulky wheel of NUBLIAH CHAMAY when shifting inwards into the passing lane near the 300m and trotted roughly. Driver G Thornley was issued with a warning.
BURNING LOVE - raced greenly passing the 200m hampering a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
PYRAMID ROSE - broke leaving the final bend losing all chance.
FLORENCE THE MACHINE - slow in the early stages. Hung inwards final bend when weakening contacting and dislodging a track marker.
HENNESSY - broke after 150m losing all chance.
SWITCH ON - held up early and middle stages of the run home. Hampered passing the 200m.
Race 7   HYGAIN - REVELL DOUGLAS MEMORIAL SERIES MOBILE PACE
ELLIE FRANCO - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Over-raced middle stages.
DECEPTIVE LEE - raced wide early.
QUINN - out of position at the start. Stewards spoke with driver M Holbrough regarding this who advised the gelding was over-racing in the score up so she elected to keep back to avoid making contact with the mobile barrier. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Held up final bend and early stages of the run home. Miss Holbrough reported the hopple shorteners failed to release despite her efforts due to the cord becoming entangled. Miss Holbrough was warned for using her whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
HAZER - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. Placed on the Unruly for future mobile starts. Driver G Goodman advised that the gelding had been striking its sulky wheels.
Race 8   SANGSTER ELECTRICAL FRUIT BOWL (HANDICAP PACE)
The start was delayed due to INSARCHATWIST becoming fractious in the pre-race formation and getting the sulky shaft over its hind quarters.
A false start was declared when INSARCHATWIST swung outwards just prior to the barriers being released checking an outside runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Sent to the Unruly for the restart where INSARCHATWIST will remain for future standing starts.
ALWAYS ON SALE - backed away and swung sideways as the barriers were released checking a trailing runner and was retired from the race by driver E Barron. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
EBURY STREET - held up by a weakening runner final bend.
TABASCO - broke at the start losing ground.
HACKSAW RIDGE - held up until late in the run home.
BOBBIES ROCK - weakened final bend hampering trailing runners.
TEMPO WARRIOR - held up by a weakening runner final bend.
STILL ROCKIN - raced wide from the 900m. Lay inwards rounding the final bend.
PINSEEKER - checked when ALWAYS ON SALE swung sideways as the start was effected losing all chance and was retired from the race by driver J Cox. Authorisation of placings were withheld until Stewards spoke with Mr Cox in relation to the start. After viewing the replays and hearing from Mr Cox, Stewards declared PINSEEKER a non-runner acting under Rule 213(1)(j) due to being denied a fair start.
Race 9   ANDERSON PARK MOTEL HANDICAP TROT
PRACTICAL MAGIC - trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
AVEROSS MAJESTY - hampered by a breaking runner passing the 200m.
ONE TWO MENNY - tangled away. Broke near the 200m hampering a trailing runner losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
MAJESTIC LOVE - fractious prior to the start.
DOMINATION'S CALL - tangled away.
EUROKASH - weakened early in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance driver M Williamson advised the gelding may not have backed up from its first day run. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Race 10   SANTANA MINERALS MOBILE PACE
MATAURA B B - over-raced early and middle stages. Choked down passing the 700m and was retired from the race by driver R Close. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
TACT TEENA - over-raced early stages.
FALCONS WATCH - weakened final bend.
JANAKA'S DELIGHT - raced wide from the 800m. Weakened final bend.
