KINGAROY - broke at the start losing all chance.
JUST RICKY - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend.
WATERLOO STATION - hung inwards over the concluding stages.
NATIVES BLAZIN SON - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
MASSIVE CARNEGIE - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Broke again at the 1700m losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer/driver B Butt.
ROGUE HERO - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend.
PHANTOM SPUR - raced wide from the 900m. Broke rounding the final bend hampering trailing runners losing all chance.
JUST CHARLIE - broke rounding the first bend hampering trailing runners losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Connections advised they would be making gear changes prior to the gelding racing next.
LADY TIFFANY - broke rounding the final bend losing all chance.
RUTHLESS EMMA - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the final bend.
MADAM PATSY - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the final bend.
Following this race the track was upgraded to Good.
Race 2   A TEAM CONSTRUCTION MOBILE PACE
FLYAWAY - lay inwards when weakening in the run home.
STAR MAGIC - improved wide from the 600m. When questioned regarding the performance driver H Sail advised the race had not been run to suit after drawing wide and having to go back after the start and considering this he was not disappointed.
HIT THE LIGHTS - late scratching at 9.00am. Trainer M House was issued a $200 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to scratch by the required time.
SWEET DREAMS - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
Race 3   FRONTROW FARMS FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
KAIRAKI VEGAS - hampered over the concluding stages by LUNA DOLCE which shifted inwards just prior to the finish.
NEWBIEMAINS ARDEN - broke racing into the first bend hampering trailing runners losing ground.
DANCING GLENIS - broke near the 600m hampering trailing runners losing ground. Driver S Tomlinson advised the mare had been striking a knee. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
SHARED SECRET - raced wide early.
TIPSTAR - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Again hampered by a breaking runner near the 600m.
EPIPHANY - over-raced when racing wide in the early stages. Continued to over-race middle stages. Lay outwards rounding the final bend when Junior driver M Holbrough activated gear. Miss Holbrough was spoken to for the manner in which she drove when activating gear.
LUNA DOLCE - raced greenly and shifted inwards just prior to the finish line hampering an inside runner. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until driver J Dunn (KAIRAKI VEGAS) placed 2nd, confirmed his chances of finishing ahead of LUNA DOLCE had not been affected.
GIRL'S NIGHT OUT - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Again hampered by a breaking runner near the 600m.
Race 4   CCAS SECOND WIND MOBILE PACE
AUNTIE DEB - held up early in the run home.
WATCHING BRIEF - when questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver J Morrison advised he was disappointed with the effort and would be making gear changes prior to the mare racing next.
FOVEAUX GAMBLER - weakened final bend.
THE BETTOR MAJOR - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
A GIRL NAMED VINNY - over-raced middle stages. Lay inwards over the concluding stages.
KRYSTAL DELIGHT - raced wide early.
MY FRIEND LOUIE - raced wide early and middle stages.
JAZZY STYX - trainer M House was issued a warning for failing to have the correct colours available.
Race 5   STEPHEN PARKINSON ORTHOPAEDIC MOBILE TROT
CRAZY N LOVE - broke at the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Broke again rounding the first bend losing all chance.
FORGIVENESS - trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
WHO'S QUEEN - pre-race warmed.
Race 6   CHICKEN'S LAWNS & GARDENS 'HARNESS 5000' MOBILE PACE
LOCHDARRAGH - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
ROCKOUTRAY - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home and had to shift ground outwards near the 50m to obtain clear running. Cleared from the unruly for future mobile starts.
SAM SNEAD - broke in the score up losing ground. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a mobile start prior to resuming. Broke again near the 1300m losing all chance.
LOCHDARRAGH - connections advised Stewards on 26 February the gelding has received treatment from a chiropractor for a soreness issue since last racing.
Race 7   GALLAGHER INSURANCE ASHBURTON CUP (HCP PACE)
WOODBINE ROCKS - broke briefly at the start. Over-raced middle stages. Weakened leaving the final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
FITZTHEBILL - weakened final bend.
DANCE TILL DAWN - broke briefly at the start. A post-race veterinary examination at the request of connections revealed a small abrasion on the left knee which was treated.
WINNYZBACK - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
AUDACITY - weakened at the 500m. When questioned regarding the performance driver R Cameron advised the gelding had to work too hard through the middle stages with the effort taking its toll. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery.
WISH ME LUCK - when questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange was unable to provide any tangible explanation. A post-race veterinary and endoscopic examination at the request of connections revealed mucous in the trachea. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
Race 8   ALLENTON PHARMACY FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
DELIGHTFUL PEG - raced wide without cover from the 700m.
MYTHICAL - raced wide early and middle stages. Paced roughly in the run home having to be steadied near the 100m.
STICKIFINGERS - held up early in the run home.
SHAKIRA - shied and broke after 150m and shifted inwards making contact with the wheel of BONNIE'S GIRL losing ground. Weakened in the run home.
DON'T TELL JENNY - broke early in the score up and settled before breaking again late in the score up losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a mobile start prior to resuming.
CLASSIE LINC - over-raced middle stages. Driver S Tomlinson advised the mare had hung outwards on several occasions particularly throughout the run home and she was unable to activate the sliding blinds in consequence.
Race 9   CHELSEA PROPERTIES & PARKING MOBILE TROT
HIGH NOON - broke briefly in the score up hampering a trailing runner and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
KERRALLY - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
GOLD NUGGET - broke shortly after the start hampering a trailing runner losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
PRINCE RANIER - broke at the 200m losing all chance. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Dunn advised the gelding had attempted to pace on several occasions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
LOVE WALKED IN - hampered in the score up and was out of position at the start.
PLAYOFFS - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
ONE MHOR FOR HEATHER - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
Driver P Nairn (HIGH NOON) was issued a warning for using his whip free of the rein on one occasion in the run home.
Race 10   JOHN MORRISON RACING / GROUNDWORK SERVICES MOBILE PACE
BETTERTHANDIVA - weakened final bend.
TOUCH N GO - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver T Williams. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Raced wide with cover from the 1600m and then without cover from the 1100m.
FERGALICIOUS - raced wide early and middle stages.
BETTERWITHBLING - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
WOODLEA DIAMOND - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts.
