FAITH IN MANCHESTER - when questioned regarding the performance Driver T Mitchell advised that he had not received a trail into the race as hoped, after the three wide line failed to progress racing down the back the final time, but was satisfied with the manner in which the mare ran on over the final stages. Mr Mitchell reported that he was unable to activate the sliding blinds due to the cord becoming entangled. | |
LORD POPINJAY - pre-race warmed. Raced up the track rounding the first turn after reaching the lead which enabled the trailing LOVEMEAGAIN to improve to its inside briefly entering the back straight the first time before improving to cross to the marker line near the 1600m. Over-raced for a distance middle stages. |

SASSY STAR - authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld after this mare shifted down into the passing lane over the final stages of the run home. After questioning Driver M McKendry and viewing the replays Stewards were satisfied that no unfair advantage had been gained over the 4th placed BARSUKOV and placings were duly authorised. Mr McKendry was warned to make a greater effort to prevent his drive shifting into the passing lane given similar circumstances in the future. Mr McKendry advised that he would be recommending a gear change to connections. | |
MAZEPPA - broke briefly at the start then was slow early losing considerable ground. Weakened in the run home. | |
SANS AU REVOIR - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Slow early losing ground. Driver H Orange reported that he had been unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled. | |
