Stewards questioned Junior driver J Dunn (assisted by S Tomlinson) regarding the manner he drove between the 500m and the 400m of particular concern was his decision not to shift ground outwards when clearance existed prior to being covered by outside runners. Mr. Dunn advised that runners had improved rapidly with his mare causing him some difficulty at this point. He further added that shortly after he was hampered by a breaking runner and had this not occurred a run would have been available . After hearing from all parties and viewing the replays, Stewards advised Mr. Dunn not to leave his drives open to query in future when assessing this Stewards took into account Mr. Dunn's inexperience. | |

When questioned regarding the performance driver G Thornley advised the race had not been run to suit after being unable to receive a covered run into the race. Miss Thornley added the gelding had hung inwards on occasions and she would be recommending further gear changes. |
