RONDO TROUBLE - slow to begin. Hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend.
NATIVES BLAZIN SON - broke rounding the first bend hampering trailing runners losing ground.
B K MUMMA JAMIE - broke at the start losing ground. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts.
BONJOUR PARIS - raced wide early. Broke near the 1300m losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Driver J Dunn advised the gelding had hung throughout causing him difficulty.
HEARTBREAK HOTEL - broke shortly after the start and continued on in a break for a considerable distance causing driver S Ottley difficulty. Broke again leaving the final bend and continued on in a break. A warning was placed on the barrier and racing record of the gelding.
STAR INVASION - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
HANK HILL - paced for a short distance at the start. Raced wide early.

SWEET GLORY - lay in and struck a track marker rounding the first bend.
MAXI JAZZ - paced roughly shortly after the start. Broke racing into the first bend hampering a trailing runner losing ground. Broke again near the 700m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
UNICO TESSA - hampered rounding the first bend. Weakened leaving the final bend.
ONE OF THESE NIGHTS - raced greenly in the score up and was out of position at the candy pole despite the efforts of driver S Ottley. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Weakened leaving the final bend.

GAMELY - broke at the start losing ground.
LAY ON MACDUFF - broke briefly at the start. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
TIMES LIKE THESE - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
CRUISE DENARIO - weakened final bend.
ARTISTIC NUGGET - broke shortly after the start losing ground.
MIDSUMMER DREAMING - fractious prior to the start causing a delay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Held up early and middle stages of the run home. Lay inwards near the 200m having to be straightened by driver S Thornley.

Race 4   FIONA STUART MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE
ONELOVEONELIFE - hampered by a weakening runner leaving the final bend. Held up early in the run home.
INTERPOL - lay in rounding the first bend striking several track markers. Held up early in the run home.
BONO BROWN - weakened leaving the final bend hampering a trailing runner.
ALMIGHTY CLEVER - raced wide without cover from the 900m.
Race 5   JOHN MORRISON, KEN McRAE & DAVE McHUGH TROT
DEM BONES DEM BONES - lay inwards and struck a track marker near the 1700m.
LA DAMA - weakened from the 600m before being checked and breaking near the 500m when an outside runner hung inwards losing all chance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare had suffered an atrial fibrillation. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance including the results of an ECG prior to completing one satisfactory trial before resuming.
RACEY KRUSA - held up early in the run home.
MODE - placed in restricted room near the 600m. Hung inwards near the 500m checking inside runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare. Driver R Close reported the mare had hung inwards throughout causing him difficulty.
TRANSTASMAN BUBBLE - raced wide without cover from the 900m. Lay inwards placing an inside runner in restricted room momentarily near the 600m.
LIVING THE MOMENT - broke racing into the first bend losing ground. Checked and broke near the 500m losing all chance.
BAFFLED - broke after 150m losing all chance.
Race 6   ARXADA NZ LTD/REVELL DOUGLAS MEMORIAL PACE
TO RI RUBY - broke briefly at the start. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
THE HIGHLANDER - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Junior driver S Hill (assisted by R May) was issued a warning for using his whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
BLUE ROCK DANCER - broke shortly after the start losing ground.
SOPHIA BROMAC - hampered by a breaking runner near the 300m. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home. Stewards questioned Junior driver J Dunn (assisted by S Tomlinson) regarding the manner he drove between the 500m and the 400m of particular concern was his decision not to shift ground outwards when clearance existed prior to being covered by outside runners. Mr. Dunn advised that runners had improved rapidly with his mare causing him some difficulty at this point. He further added that shortly after he was hampered by a breaking runner and had this not occurred a run would have been available . After hearing from all parties and viewing the replays, Stewards advised Mr. Dunn not to leave his drives open to query in future when assessing this Stewards took into account Mr. Dunn's inexperience.
HUGO - paced roughly in the early stages losing ground. Broke briefly near the 300m hampering a trailing runner losing ground.
Race 7   GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND HORORATA CUP (HCP PACE)
MAJOR HIPSTER - broke and shifted outwards at the start hampering an outside runner losing ground. Weakened from the 600m. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Hill advised the gelding had over-raced and been striking a knee. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
BUCKSKIN -hampered by a breaking runner at the start.
KISS THE GIRLS - broke at the start and shifted outwards losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. The near side number came adrift during the running.
TEDS LEGACY - broke at the start losing ground.
HOMEBUSH LAD - hampered shortly after the start by a breaking runner. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
WILD WILLOW - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Broke again at the 1400m losing all chance. When questioned regarding the performance driver R May was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the left foreleg. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
BRYCE'S MEDDLE - driver J Dunn was issued a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
Following this race the track was downgraded to Dead.
Race 8   THE HAMISH SCOTT & KIM LAWSON MOBILE PACE
ANYTIME AT ALL - raced wide without cover from the 800m.
TIMES ARE A CHANGIN - weakened at the 500m.
IZACHEAPEE - required assistance from a Starting Attendant in the pre-race formation. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
EVIDENTLY - raced wide early stages.
Race 9   NUFARM NZ LTD TROT
DARK GHANA - broke near the 250m losing ground hampering a trailing runner. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the run home.
OPAWA PEAK - trotted roughly rounding the final bend.
MARTHA STUART - late scratching at 4.05pm due to downgrade in track conditions.
ROYAL ROCK - raced wide early.
DIEDRE FRANCO - broke after 100m losing considerable ground. Weakened final bend and broke again near the 100m.
BRIAN BEATT - hampered by a breaking runner near the 200m.
Race 10   BAYER NZ LTD MOBILE PACE
KOWHAI NUGGET - connections advised the gelding has had a knee treated since last racing. Paced roughly shortly after the start.
JUST ASK PADDY - hung inwards rounding the final bend and throughout the run home. When questioned regarding the performance driver G Thornley advised the race had not been run to suit after being unable to receive a covered run into the race. Miss Thornley added the gelding had hung inwards on occasions and she would be recommending further gear changes.
