Race 1   MIKE CLEGG MEMORIAL HANDICAP TROT
The start was delayed when the field was turned out of line due to several runners becoming fractious.
SCOOTS - Driver A Pyers was warned for dropping a foot from the sulky footrest on several occasions rounding the final bend.
ANASTASIA ASHLEY - broke at the start hampering a trailing runner losing ground. Weakened rounding the final bend.
IM SUPERFAST - lay in and trotted roughly for a stride passing the 800m which resulted in a marginal easing of the pace in the marker line.
CAVIAR NOIRE - broke racing off the crossing near the 1650m losing ground before settling.
BOSS JO - broke near the 750m after getting onto the back of TRIPPY TYRON when there was a marginal easing of the pace in the running line, checking trailing runners and lost all chance.
HENRIK LUNDQVIST - over-raced middle stages.
ALDEBARAN WHAT - broke after 200m losing considerable ground. Checked by breaking runners near the 750m losing considerable ground. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight with Driver R Close not activating the deafeners in consequence.
KC'S PRINCESS - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A final warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners.
TRIPPY TYRON - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Had to shift ground wider to obtain clear running early in the home straight.
FIGHT FOR FREEDOM - broke near the 750m losing ground.
MR MONTY - checked and broke near the 750m losing its chance.
WISH FOR FISH - broke near the 850m losing ground.
REWIRI HILL - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
ITBETTERBENOW - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Broke again near the 100m losing its chance. A final warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
Race 2   PALAMOUNTAINS/ROWAN FARMS MOBILE PACE
MOONLITE - lay out at various stages.
TINA ACE - shifted outwards near the 400m and then lay outwards checking an outside runner despite the efforts of Driver H Orange. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
RUTHERFORD - checked and broke near the 400m when being shifted wider by TINA ACE.
RAY SAUCE - out of position at the start. Driver G Martin was issued with a warning.
Race 3   FLEMING FAMILY TROT
CONRAD H - paced off the mark but was broken up shortly after to return to a trot losing ground. Authorisation of this runner's 2nd placing was withheld until Stewards had viewed the footage and were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
ALL MUSCLED UP - broke at the start losing all chance. Placed on the Unruly for future standing starts at the request of Trainer S Dickson.
EAGLE HANOVER - hampered by breaking runners shortly after the start.
PAT YATES - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners. Broke near the 250m losing its chance.
VERONICA JANE - unable to take up its position prior to the barrier being released and then reared as the start was effected checking an outside runner . Broke near the 1400m losing ground. Declared a non-runner under Rule 213(1)(j) on the grounds of being denied a fair start.
JACCKA BAYLIS - checked by an inside runner at the start and broke losing all chance. Declared a non-runner under Rule 213(1)(j) on the grounds of being denied a fair start.
PRESIDENT FLYNNTIN - unable to take up its position prior to the barrier being released and broke at the start losing ground before breaking again over the early stages losing all chance. Declared a non-runner under Rule 213(1)(j) on the grounds of being denied a fair start.
KING OF DIAMONDS - broke racing over the crossing near the 1650m losing all chance.
ROCK ON JAZZ - hampered by breaking runners shortly after the start losing ground. Cleared from the Unruly for future stands.
Race 4   ALLAN & COLIN GREAVES MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE
GOLDEN LINE- held up throughout the home straight when unable to secure clear racing room.
PUSHTHESKYAWAY - raced erratically when laying out near the 1300m hampering trailing runners. Continued to race erratically at various stages proving difficult for Driver R Close. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners. Shifted out near the 150m and then paced roughly before shifting out again passing the 100m. Authorisation of this runner's 4th placing was withheld until Driver P Ferguson (MIKI'S MOMENT - 5th placing) confirmed that his chances had not been affected.
BET ON POLLY - shifted in passing the 200m having to be corrected before weakening late in the run home.
IDEAL CRUNCH - broke approaching the 50m but soon settled. Authorisation of this runner's 2nd placing was withheld until Stewards had viewed the footage and were satisfied the filly had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation. Junior Driver K Denifostova was shown the replays and spoken to advisedly regarding the manner she drove over the concluding stages.
Race 5   SILVER FERN FARMS/CARRFIELDS LIVESTOCK MOBILE PACE
WHITFIELD - held up early in the run home and was then disappointed for a run passing the 100m and failed to secure clear racing room for the remainder of the final straight.
ONETANGI GIRL - Driver J Abernethy was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
CALL SECURITY - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1450m.
JAHI - broke near the 1450m hampering trailing runners and locked sulky wheels with SHEZA MERMAID with Driver C Hackett being dislodged from the sulky. Ms Hackett was examined by St John Ambulance personnel and cleared to fulfil her remaining driving engagements. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
EDDIE OSEI - raced wide early.
SHEZA MERMAID - Trainer N Chilcott was warned for failing to have the correct colours available. Checked and locked wheels with a breaking runner near the 1400m losing all chance.
SHIRLEY BASSEY - checked near the 1400m losing considerable ground.
DIDJASHOUTTHEBAR - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1450m.
RAPID RESPONSE - over-raced near the 850m and was awkwardly placed on the back of WHITFIELD. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
PROVISEUR - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1450m.
RAKERO SCOTTY - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1450m.
Race 6   UHLENBERG HAULAGE/BAKER TILLY STAPLES RODWAY MOBILE PACE
STEALERS WHEEL - raced wide early.
CRACKER ROCK - shifted ground outwards near the 200m checking CAPTAIN ZENZI which broke with resultant interference to RUN MASON RUN which also broke with both these runners losing all chance. Driver D Butcher admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly in this incident. After viewing the replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Butcher's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 7 February up to and including 13 February 2025 (2 days). When questioned regarding the performance Mr Butcher stated that the gelding had got too far back in the running after going back from its wide barrier draw early.
PLAY THE ACE - broke as the start was effected losing ground. Placed on the Unruly for future mobile starts.
THEO - weakened in the run home.
THE NEXT BEST THING - raced wide early before crossing to the parked position near the 1250m.
Race 7   TARANAKI STEELFORMERS STRATFORD CUP HANDICAP PACE
A false start was declared at the first attempt when DENNIS DENUTO backed away interfering with 10m runners. Driver R Close elected to remain in his allotted position for the restart.
DENNIS DENUTO - displayed poor barrier manners again at the restart hampering BOUDICA. Placed on the Unruly for future standing starts.
SEASIDE ROSE - held up throughout the run home.
RED RACKHAM - broke at the start and shifted inwards locking wheels with an inside runner resulting in Driver J Abernethy being tipped from the sulky with resultant interference to VILLAGE REBEL with Driver S Abernethy also being tipped from the sulky. Both drivers were examined by St John Ambulance personnel and cleared to fulfil their remaining driving engagements.
IRON BRIGADE - crowded prior to the barriers being released and broke losing considerable ground. Declared a non-runner under Rule 213(1)(j) on the grounds of being denied a fair start.
LOUEZYANA - swung sideways prior to the barriers being released crowding an inside runner and broke briefly.
BOUDICA - hampered at the start. Held up in the early stages of the run home.
MHAI SURFER GIRL - pre-race warmed.
LE MAJOR - locked wheels with an outside runner shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Held up over the final stages.
VILLAGE REBEL - underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no apparent abnormalities.
Stewards extended some leniency in assessing horse penalties given the false start.
Race 8   HYGAIN REVELL DOUGLAS MEMORIAL SERIES HEAT 2 MOB PACE
ASK ME LAZARUS - weakened late in the run home.
AKATEA - Driver A Harrison reported that the bit had shifted during the running placing her at some disadvantage.
LEWEY MAGUIRE - over-raced middle stages.
Race 9   ALLAN MCCULLOUGH PAINTERS STRATFORD TROT HANDICAP TROT
A false start was declared at the first attempt when the front line barrier strand failed to release.
BEVRON - contacted by an outside runner shortly after the start and broke losing all chance.
ROMEO FOXTROT - broke at the start and shifted in marginally contacting an inside runner.
BROTHER LOVE - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Weakened from the 1000m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed symptoms of muscle tie up.
BOSS KENNY - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Raced wider on the track passing the 1200m after AMERICAN MUSCLE had shifted ground away from the marker line. It was established Driver T Cameron (AMERICAN MUSCLE) had commenced his outwards movement prior to BOSS KENNY reaching his sulky wheel with no further action deemed necessary. Broke again passing the 1000m losing all chance.
HIGH ENERGY - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
MANCHESTER IN TIME - weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
Race 10   ALABAR STUD MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared at the first attempt when TASI AHNAU broke in the score up checking trailing runners. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Driver W House elected to remain in his allotted barrier position for the restart.
OHOKA ACHILLES - Driver O Gillies was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
BENJAMIN BUTTON - broke briefly in the score up and was back from position at dispatch.
MAJOR MAJOR - back from position at dispatch. Lay out throughout the run home.
SAVARNA - weakened in the run home.
