SINAI SERMON then commenced to lay inwards near the 1200m when attempting to cross the pace-making FLYING BIRD and consequently despite his efforts he had been unable to improve to that position. Mr Dalgety added that when he became aware that FLYING BIRD was under pressure near the 600m he felt his best option was to improve forward again in an attempt to cross to the marker line. Mr Douglas added he had been able to gain some respite for a distance until the 600m however once placed under pressure the mare had failed to respond to his urgings and commenced to weaken.
