There was a delay to the start when the gear on HEARTBREAK HOTEL required attention.
GO HOME DENISE - lay inwards at various stages throughout. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
BRIGHTMAN - broke after 150m checking STAR INVASION losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
ROSARY - driver S Tomlinson advised the mare lay outwards throughout the run home and was unable to be fully driven out in consequence.
BONJOUR PARIS - raced wide early. Hung inwards and broke leaving the final bend hampering a trailing runner losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
STAR INVASION - checked and broke racing into the first bend losing considerable ground. Over-raced middle stages.
HEARTBREAK HOTEL - broke shortly after the start and raced fiercely causing driver S Ottley difficulty when being attempted to be corrected losing all chance and was retired from the race. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a standing start prior to resuming.
SHE'S GOT SASS - stood on the mark and refused to begin losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
DRAGONHILL - raced wide early. Hampered in the early stages by an inside runner. Hampered by a breaking runner leaving the final bend.
BILLY KIMBER - trotted roughly in the early stages before breaking near the 2100m losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
REINDEER TROUBLE - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
MAKE MY DAY - over-raced middle stages. Broke near the 200m losing all chance.

MIKI SKIPPER - lay outwards at various stages throughout causing driver J Dunn some difficulty.
CARRERA TRANQUILO - raced wide without cover from the 800m.
FRANKIE - lay inwards early in the run home.
INTERRORGATOR - paced roughly rounding the final bend. Held up early in the run home.
Race 3   KIWI SEED MOBILE PACE
AMBLESIDE DRIVE - raced wide from the 900m.
FLOOZY SUZY - trainer S Fensom was issued a warning for being late to notify the mare would be racing without blinds. Over-raced when racing wide in the early stages.
BREENY'S CONQUEROR - raced wide early.
MARIANA TRENCH - hung outwards and paced roughly rounding the final bend losing ground.
RACINGMISSGRACIE - broke when being shifted wider by an inside runner near the 300m losing all chance.
NILA MAREE - raced wide early. Shifted outwards leaving the final bend. Driver B Orange advised the filly had been hanging outwards throughout causing him some difficulty.
SWEET GLORY - shifted outwards near the 300m checking and hampering outside runners. Stewards questioned drivers A Lethaby (SWEET GLORY) and J Cox (RACINGMISSGRACIE) regarding this incident where it was established that runners to the inside had shifted outwards simultaneously to Mrs Lethaby shifting outwards for clear running resulting in her being dictated wider than anticipated. Mrs Lethaby further advised that her horse had become keen when presented with clear running which had contributed. After considering their explanations and viewing the replays Stewards were unable to apportion blame onto any one horse or driver and took the matter no further.
WILLOW VALLEY - hampered near the 300m when an inside runner shifted outwards.
Race 4   WATERFRONT BAR & GRILL MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared when RAZORS EDGE broke in the score up checking trailing runners. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver J Geddes elected to move to the unruly position for the restart where the gelding will remain for future mobile starts.
ITZ MAGICAL MEG - broke and shifted outwards as the start was effected making contact with the sulky of MELANDO CHIEF before checking BUDDY REIGN and BIG MAMA MORRIS losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts. Driver G O'Reilly advised the mare had cast the near fore shoe at the start.
RAZORS EDGE - raced wide without cover from the 800m.
MELANDO CHIEF - awkwardly placed close to ITZ MAGICAL MEG which broke and shifted out as the start was effected. Locked wheels with FORD RULE over the concluding stages and was forced outwards after the finish line making contact with the outside fence. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
APATCHOFGOLD - hampered by a breaking runner near the 550m.
SIR MONTY - hampered by a breaking runner near the 550m.
ITZ ALL FIRED UP - weakened rounding the final bend hampering trailing runners.
BUDDY REIGN - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
BIG MAMA MORRIS - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
FORD RULE - locked wheels with MELANDO CHIEF over the concluding stages.
IDEAL CHEVRON - broke near the 550m hampering trailing runners losing ground. Held up early in the run home. Shifted outwards near the 100m and then lay outwards despite the efforts of driver J Cox forcing FORD RULE wider which locked wheels with MELANDO CHIEF. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.

SIGNAL HILL - held up leaving the final bend and early in the run home.
BAFFLED - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 500m.
NIGHT LIFE - broke near the 200m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
BELLA LINDENNY - broke after 100m losing all chance.
STRIKE IT LUCKY - raced wide early. Weakened leaving the final bend.
SOLEMN SON - raced wide early. Raced wide without cover from the 700m.

TEDDY THE TERROR - broke at the start hampering a trailing runner losing ground.
DOCTOR TIM - raced inside the final track marker prior to the passing lane. Driver W House was issued a warning.
FAREWELL SPIT - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
MAJOR PERFORMER - connections advised the mare would be racing without front shoes.
EBURY STREET - hampered by a breaking runner at the start.
Race 8   SEDDON SHIELDS 2025 MARLBOROUGH TROTTERS CUP (HCP TROT)
NELLIE DOYLE - shifted outwards leaving the final bend and struck the sulky wheel of MM SUNSHINE near the 300m which punctured and broke crowding an outside runner and losing ground. Driver B Orange admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly in this incident and after viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300.
MM SUNSHINE - driver R Holmes reported he sustained a punctured sulky tyre leaving the final bend.
MAVIS JONES - broke near the 2600m losing all chance.
WHO'S QUEEN - pre-race warmed. Broke racing into the first bend losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
MASTERLY - crowded near the 300m and broke briefly losing ground.
Race 9   KAM TRANSPORT MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared when JUST FOXIN shifted outwards in the score up making contact with DON JUAN which broke. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver T Williams elected to remain in his allocated barrier position for the restart. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a mobile start prior to resuming.
MASTERLOU - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.
SARASOTA SUNSET - broke briefly shortly after the start hampering a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Held up early in the run home.
STANLEY'S RULE - held up until late in the run home.
SCARLETT'S LEGACY - struck the final track marker prior to the passing lane. Driver R May was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice.
MIKI'S COURAGE - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Raced wide early.
RADHA - raced wide early.
FREDASTAIRE - held up final bend and early in the run home.
JUST ASK PADDY - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Held up final bend and lay inwards and raced greenly in the run home.
Race 10   DONEGAL HOUSE 2025 MARLBOROUGH PACERS CUP (HCP PACE)
A false start was declared when EVANGALIST backed away just prior to the start hampering trailing runners.
A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Sent to the unruly position by the Starter for the restart where the mare will remain for future standing starts.
KISS THE GIRLS - broke at the start losing ground. Weakened final bend.
TEDS LEGACY - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
EVANGALIST - began awkwardly losing ground.
TEMPO WARRIOR - over-raced middle stages. Held up final bend.
BETTERTHANCASH - weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
SIDESHOW BRUCE - broke at the start losing ground.
PICCADILLY PETE - shifted outwards shortly after the start and contacted WILD WILLOW which broke briefly. Stewards opened and adjourned an enquiry into this matter.
WILD WILLOW - checked by an inside runner at the start and broke briefly.

RENALDO - paced roughly in the early stages. Checked by a breaking runner rounding the final bend.
DANCE WITH THE BOSS - raced four wide early.
COLIN MCBRIDE - struck a knee and broke rounding the final bend checking an outside runner losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
DESTINY'S DREAM - raced wide from the 1300m.
ESTER LUCY - raced wide early.

Race 12   THANKS TO THE VOLUNTEERS TROT
WHAT THE BELL - trotted roughly before breaking inside the final 50m and failed to settle. Stewards lodged a protest against 2nd placing being awarded under Rule 870(2)(c) alleging the gelding failed to lose ground when in a break. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and driver S Ottley the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the protest.
BULLIT TRAIN - pre-race warmed. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages. Connections advised the gelding sustained a punctured sulky tyre during the running. Junior driver C Dalgety admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly when shifting ground near the 250m and contacted RACEY KRUSA resulting in his tyre puncturing. The hearing was adjourned by the Adjudicative Committee until Friday 24 January 2025.
MONARCH PRINCE - underwent a veterinary examination prior to the start and declared a late scratching on Veterinary advice due to showing signs of lameness in the near fore leg. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
GINAS MAJESTY - over-raced middle stages. Raced wide from the 800m.
SPECIAL EFFECTS - broke at the start checking a trailing runner losing ground. Broke again near the 1900m losing considerable ground. Broke on a further occasion near the 450m losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
BRIAN BEATT - broke at the start losing ground.
