Due to a slight delay in the release of the handheld 30m barrier strand which did not clear the track Stewards withheld authorisation of placings until they had spoken with drivers who were drawn on the 30m mark who confirmed their chances had not been affected. Starter R Donnelly was shown the footage of the start and advised that he is to ensure the barriers are released simultaneously in future for all marks. | |
MANAKAU BLAZE - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Began awkwardly. | |

Mrs Tomlinson advised that she was having difficulty with her horse and when attempting to restrain the gelding was unable to maneuver the horse around GO HOME DENISE when runners were positioned to either side.
