Race 1   BLENHEIM TOYOTA PASSING LANE HANDICAP TROT
Due to a slight delay in the release of the handheld 30m barrier strand which did not clear the track Stewards withheld authorisation of placings until they had spoken with drivers who were drawn on the 30m mark who confirmed their chances had not been affected. Starter R Donnelly was shown the footage of the start and advised that he is to ensure the barriers are released simultaneously in future for all marks.
MANAKAU BLAZE - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Began awkwardly.
BRIGHTMAN - broke passing the 1250m losing ground. Again broke near the 450m losing all chance.
BONJOUR PARIS - broke after 100m losing ground. Again broke passing the 600m losing all chance.
GO HOME DENISE - broke passing the 220m losing ground. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
VOLSTONE - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
BILLY KIMBER - broke racing into the first bend losing ground. Trotted roughly in the early stages of the run home and then when being heavily restrained near the 150m contacted the sulky of GO HOME DENISE. Stewards questioned driver A Tomlinson in relation to the manner she drove near the 150m. Mrs Tomlinson advised that she was having difficulty with her horse and when attempting to restrain the gelding was unable to maneuver the horse around GO HOME DENISE when runners were positioned to either side. Mrs Tomlinson added that she would be making gear changes prior to BILLY KIMBER racing next. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
STAR INVASION - weakened final bend.
DRAGONHILL - paced near the 2100m having to be restrained by its driver, hampering a trailing runner and losing all chance. Driver R Holmes was reminded of his obligation to ensure he shifts his horses wider on the track when in an incorrect gait.
HEARTBREAK HOTEL - broke briefly shortly after the start. Broke again racing into the first bend losing all chance. A final warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
BELLA LINDENNY - hampered near the 2100m. Lay outwards over the concluding stages.
REINDEER TROUBLE - hung inwards at various stages during the running.
MAKE MY DAY - weakened rounding the final bend.
Race 2   GROVE TAVERN MOBILE PACE
BREENY'S CONQUEROR - paced roughly as the start was effected hampering a trailing runner.
FRANKIE - raced wide early.
PACIFIC THUNDER - over-raced in the early stages.
LUCKY MONEY - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Raced in an uncompetitive manner from the 1600m losing contact with the body of the field. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. A warning was also placed on the racing performance of the mare.
COSMIC STAR - hampered at the start. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
Race 3   EVENT RENT MARLBOROUGH MOBILE PACE
NILA MAREE - held up throughout the run home.
FLOOZY SUZY - over-raced early and middle stages. Weakened final bend.
TWO TICKS - placed in restricted room momentarily racing into the first bend. Raced wide early.
VESTA - raced wide early until reaching the parked position near the 1000m.
MAGISTRATE - lay inwards racing into the first bend placing inside runners in restricted room momentarily.
SHANNON B - raced wide early. Paced roughly in the early stages of the run home having to be restrained by driver W House. Trainer M House advised he would be making gear changes to the mares hopples.
AMBLESIDE DRIVE - placed in restricted room momentarily racing into the first bend and contacted track markers.
CARRERA TRANQUILO - required the assistance of Starting personnel at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Raced three wide without cover from the 800m.
Race 4   OSGRO SEED SERVICES MOBILE PACE
BIG MAMA MORRIS - hampered by a weakening runner final bend and then held up early stages of the run home.
HOPE FOR LOVE - checked shortly after the start and broke briefly then over-raced when racing wide for a distance until reaching the parked position near the 1000m. Weakened final bend hampering trailing runners.
RAZORS EDGE - hung inwards abruptly shortly after the start checking an inside runner which broke briefly in consequence. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
IVONA DADIC - paced roughly shortly after the start having to be steadied. Raced wide early until reaching the parked position near the 800m.
FORD RULE - raced three wide without cover from the 800m.
IDEAL CHEVRON - slow early stages.
Race 5   ISABEL WINES TROT
STRIKE IT LUCKY - hampered by a breaking runner at the start losing ground.
HIGH NOON - broke at the start hampering trailing runners losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
POPNROCK - broke near the 200m losing ground.
SOLEMN SON - broke shortly after the start hampering a trailing runner. A final warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Lay inwards and struck a track marker near the 1000m.
ZSAZSA BINX - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
NIGHT LIFE - hung inwards early stages of the run home then broke near the 120m losing all chance.
SIGNAL HILL - hampered by a breaking runner at the start losing ground. Broke when negotiating the crossing near the 550m losing all chance.
KERRALLY - hampered by a breaking runner at the start then locked wheels with an outside runner shortly after, losing ground. Hampered again by a breaking runner racing into the first bend losing further ground.
GEENA'S GIFT - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start and broke, locking wheels with an inside runner losing all chance.

Race 6   HAPPY 60TH BIRTHDAY MIKE RANGI MOBILE PACE
GEM N EM - held up early stages of the run home.
COURAGE REACTOR - raced wide early. Held up early stages of the run home.
HA'PENNY - raced wide early.

TO RI RUBY - held up early stages of the run home.
SAMVASA - raced wide without cover from the 950m.
HIT THE LIGHTS - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Driver W House reported he would be recommending gear changes.
Race 7   SPEIGHTS HANDICAP PACE
The start was delayed when several runners became fractious.
TEDDY THE TERROR - held up rounding the final bend and then lay inwards in the early stages of the run home and became awkwardly placed close to the outside of MAJOR PERFORMER.
MIKRA WAVE - fractious prior to the start causing a delay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Broke at the start hampering a trailing runner.
FRANCENT - broke shortly after the start hampering a trailing runner.
FAREWELL SPIT - held up rounding the final bend.
DOCTOR TIM - broke at the start hampering trailing runners losing ground.
BALLYGAR - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after rearing and making heavy contact with the sulky of STYLE COUNCIL and was cleared to start. Over-raced and had to be steadied for a distance near the 1100m losing ground.
STYLE COUNCIL - fractious prior to the start causing a delay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Broke briefly at the start. Over-raced when in the parked position through the middle stages.
SOPHIA BROMAC - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Cleared from the Unruly for future standing starts.

NELLIE DOYLE - trotted roughly over the concluding stages.

WHO'S QUEEN - broke when negotiating the crossing near the 2200m losing ground. Broke again rounding the final bend when hanging inwards losing all chance.

MIDNIGHT BABE - driver T Bamford was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion rounding the final bend.
AMAZING TOM - broke rounding the final bend when weakening and shifted outwards hampering outside runners losing all chance.
STANLEY'S RULE - held up rounding the final bend.
DON JUAN - raced wide throughout.
JUST FOXIN - broke in the score up checking an outside runner resulting in a false start being declared. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Held up early stages of the run home.
TOKYO ROSE - driver S Ottley reported she did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
JUST ASK PADDY - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the final bend.
DESTINY DANCE - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the final bend. Lay inwards near the 100m having to be straightened.

The start was delayed when Starter R Donnelly was not satisfied with the way the field addressed the barrier.

SIDESHOW BRUCE - broke at the start losing ground. Placed on the Unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer R Stuart.

A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Connections advised they will be making adjustments to the shadow roll for the second day.

DIDJABRINGTHEBUBBLES - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Placed on the Unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer J Howe.
BULLIT TRAIN - pre-race warmed. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
BLINK N BONES - held up early stages of the run home.
SPECIAL EFFECTS - trotted roughly over the early stages. Broke racing into the first bend losing ground. Broke again rounding the final bend losing all chance.
