MR WONDERFUL - broke near the 1850m losing all chance when racing to the inside of IRISH WHISPERS which lay in. Junior Driver D Grundmann (assisted by J Abernethy) was shown the replays and warned for the manner in which he drove in this incident when failing to concede his position. | |
NAROBI - weakened final turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormality. | |
IRISH WHISPERS - lay out in the early and middle stages of the run home when attempting to use the passing lane. | |
LINCOLN LA MOOSE - the offside number detached during the middle stages and hung down. Weakened final turn. Co-Trainers R Green & N Delany were issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice after a middle carrier came adrift during the running. A post-race veterinary examination, which included an endoscopic procedure, revealed an irregularity with the epiglottis which requires further investigation. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days. | |

The start was further delayed when DRAGONSTONE again reared and went through the front barrier, however it was established there had been an issue with the 10m handicap horses which resulted in Starter D Blakemore not being satisfied that a fair start could be effected. TYSON - when questioned regarding the performance Driver Z Butcher stated that the colt had lay in prior to the dispatch and lost the opportunity to go forward from the favorable draw. Mr Butcher further stated that this runner had lay in again rounding the final turn and peaked on its run in what was its first race for a month. | |
MARY MAGDALENE - over-raced entering the back straight the first time when being restrained to take up a position on the marker line. Weakened in the run home. | |

ONYX SHARD - when questioned Driver Z Butcher could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed signs of a respiratory infection. Connections advised the mare will be examined by the stable's veterinarian and bloods taken in the coming days. Stewards will follow up the results. | |
