Race 1   CINDERELLA'S JANDALS FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
KAIRAKI VEGAS - raced greenly and weakened near the 300m hampering a trailing runner. When questioned regarding the performance driver T Williams advised the filly had worked hard in the early stages to maintain the lead with the effort taking its toll.
TWO JULES - driver R Anderson reported he sustained a punctured sulky tyre racing into the first bend with the tyre coming off the rim in the run home.
PARTNERS IN WINE - over-raced middle stages.
BETTOR FEAR ME - lay inwards near the 200m and then was briefly hampered when an inside runner shifted outwards at the 180m.
JENA - connections advised the mare would be racing in foal. Raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 1000m.
TIPSTAR - raced wide without cover from the 900m.
SEASIDE FANTASY - broke late in the score up losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Held up early in the run home. Shifted outwards near the 180m briefly hampering an outside runner. Driver J Morrison was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
SHE'S A MAJOR ACT - hampered by a weakening runner near the 300m. Held up throughout the run home. Stewards questioned Junior driver S Hill (assisted by R May) regarding his decision to shift outwards instead of waiting to utilise the passing lane near the 250m. Mr Hill explained that he elected to shift outwards early in the run home as a result of KAIRAKI VEGAS which he had been trailing commencing to race greenly and weaken. Mr Hill added that he felt his best option was to shift outwards to follow JENA which was travelling well instead of waiting for the passing lane and being held up. After considering his explanation and viewing the replays, Stewards were satisfied his actions were not unreasonable in the circumstances and took the matter no further.
DISNEY DENARIO - briefly crowded an inside runner after 250m. Junior driver D Dolan was spoken to advisedly. Struck the sulky wheel of TWO JULES racing into the first bend which punctured. Mrs Dolan admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that she drove carelessly when allowing her runner to strike the wheel of TWO JULES. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250. Lay inwards and raced inside a track marker at the 300m. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the filly had not gained any advantage when racing inside a track marker.
GOOD TIME BETTY - broke in the score up however was in position at the start. Had to be steadied when placed in restricted room after 250m when a runner to the outside shifted inwards.
LUNA DOLCE - broke near the 400m losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
Race 2   WATTSLEA FARMS PACE
CHRISTIAN BALE - broke after 100m hampering trailing runners losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Weakened early in the run home.
MOONSHINER - hampered by a breaking runner after 100m.
SANS REPOS - crowded at the start. Hampered by a breaking runner after 100m.
CHLOE'S DASH - weakened from the 600m. When questioned regarding the performance trainer B Negus advised he was very disappointed with the effort and would be considering the mare's racing future. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
CHAL VEE POWER - broke at the start losing ground.
CHEVAL NOIR - broke after 150m losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
SMOOTH SCOOB - Raced without the removable deafeners after warming up unfavourably. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination after having blood present in the mouth area which revealed a small abrasion to the tongue. Driver R Anderson admitted a breach of Rule 868(3) in that he failed to drive the mare out to the end of the race when having a reasonable chance of finishing 4th. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Anderson's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 26 January 2025 (3 days).
TAIKA - broke at the start losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a standing start prior to resuming.
ULTIMATUM - lay inwards in the run home.
Race 3   TREKKING AFTER RACING MOBILE PACE
The start was delayed due to STATE TROOPER requiring farrier attention.
TAKETHEPLUNGE - broke in the score up losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
ROCKINGOOD - lay inwards near the 50m placing THE MANDALORIAN in restricted room. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until driver R Holmes (THE MANDALORIAN) placed 4th, had reviewed the replays of the run home and confirmed his chances of finishing ahead of ROCKINGOOD had not been affected. Driver R May advised he would be recommending gear changes prior to ROCKINGOOD racing next.
YALDHURST FOLLY - broke in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
COURTNEY FORCE - hampered rounding the final bend.
RACIE DALE - paced roughly final bend hampering a trailing runner. Lay inwards near the 350m striking track markers.
THE MANDALORIAN - placed in restricted room near the 50m when ROCKINGOOD lay inwards.
Race 4   POPLAR FLAT FARM/RED PARK FARM FILLIES & MARES MOBILE TROT
CRAZY N LOVE - crowded and struck track markers racing into the first bend.
TINKERBELLE - weakened leaving the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Ottley advised she was disappointed and was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
LOVE WALKED IN - pre-race warmed. Awkwardly placed inside PENELOPE HALL and T K MEGASTAR near the 150m and in consequence raced over several track markers having to be restrained. Again held up near the 50m and as a result broke losing ground. Stewards will speak to driver B Hope regarding the manner he drove near the 150m in the coming days.
JORDAN ANNE - had to be steadied racing into the first bend when placed in restricted room by an outside runner.
T K MEGASTAR - shifted inwards racing into the first bend placing inside runners in restricted room. Driver R Holmes was issued a warning. Lay inwards near the 250m and shifted into the passing lane despite the efforts of Mr Holmes.
LOTUS FRANCO - held final bend and early in the run home. Lay inwards over the concluding stages.
Race 5   SCENIC HOTEL GROUP JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE
MY TEN GUITARS - raced three wide without cover from the 700m.
SHARD DE ARCH - held up early in the run home.
BONNIE'S GIRL - raced wide early. When questioned regarding the performance driver O Thornley advised she was very disappointed and was unable to provide any explanation. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
KASARANI - driver K Newman's foot slipped momentarily from the sulky footrest early in the run home when activating gear accidentally coming into contact with the the mare's hind leg. When questioned regarding the performance Mr Newman advised he was disappointed and was unable to provide any explanation. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
Race 6   MORRISON MITSUBISHI ASHBURTON MOBILE PACE
RAKERO LIGHTNING - raced wide early.
BELMONT VALOR - over-raced middle stages.
Race 7   PHILLIPS FAMILY HANDICAP PACE
FERGALICIOUS - held up early in the run home.
NOT OVER - hung outwards early in the run home and was unable to utilise the passing lane and continued to lay out for a distance when attempting to obtain clear racing room.
KELTIC TIGER - lay outwards early in the run home.
SARGENT BEST - weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver M Williamson advised he was very disappointed and was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
HEAVEN - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home and lay inwards.
BIGGLES - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
JUSTA TERRA - broke at the start losing ground.
WARLOCH - raced wide from the 900m.
JACK TAR - raced wide early.
Race 8   MIKE GREER HOMES MOBILE TROT
PEAKNMONKEY - broke in the score up however was in position at the start. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.
CROWN THE MOMENT - lay inwards and struck a track marker rounding the first bend. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
GOLD NUGGET - held up early in the run home. Broke near the 100m before briefly switching to a pace before breaking again losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
RACHMANINOV - raced wide early.
OLIVER - raced wide without cover from the 900m.
Race 9   FIONA STUART MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE
HANOI FRANCO - late scratching at 9.00am on Veterinary advice.
ONELOVEONELIFE - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Trainer M Purvis was issued a warning for presenting the gelding to race without the notified anti choke device.
IZACHEAPEE - late scratching at 9.00am on Veterinary advice.
FERNZ GOLDY - the required veterinary clearance was supplied.
LILAC LUXURY - broke in the score up losing considerable ground. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts.
KIRKMAN - held up early in the run home driver T Chmiel advised he didn't activate the sliding blinds in consequence.
KRYSTAL DELIGHT - connections advised the mare has been served.
WESTAR MOLLY - lay inwards early stages of the run home.
