COPENHAGEN GIRL - broke at the start losing ground.
SEASIDE POND - paced roughly after 150m.
FLOOZY SUZY - weakened early in the run home.
MIRACLE MEMPHIS - broke at the start losing ground. Lay inwards over the concluding stages having to be corrected by driver W House.
RACINGMISSGRACIE - held up early in the run home.
ADELPHI STORM - shifted outwards when approaching the barrier strand prior to the start causing driver T Williams some difficulty. Weakened early in the run home.
STUNNA - lay outwards rounding the final bend.
Race 2   TURF HOTEL MOBILE PACE
BESIDE ME - driver C Dalgety reported he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
MANDALA - shifted inwards marginally early in the run home and locked sulky wheels with AMERICAN BLAZE with both sulkies remaining locked until after the finish line. Following the race, driver W House (AMERICAN BLAZE) placed 5th, lodged a protest against 4th placing being awarded to MANDALA (T Williams) alleging interference in the run home. After viewing replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and both drivers the Adjudicative Committee upheld the protest and relegated MANDALA to 5th placing with AMERICAN BLAZE promoted to 4th placing. After considering the matter Stewards elected to take no action against Mr Williams due to the minimal inwards movement of his horse.
AMERICAN BLAZE - locked sulky wheels with MANDALA early in the run home after that runner shifted inwards marginally with both sulkies remaining locked until after the finish line.
LIGHT ME UP - briefly hampered when an inside runner shifted outwards leaving the final bend. Driver B Orange's foot made contact with the hind leg of the gelding early in the run home when he activated the removable deafeners. After viewing the replays and speaking with Mr Orange it was established that his right foot had become entangled in the gaiting strap attached to the sulky causing him difficulty with the contact being accidental.
MISTY BLUE - paced roughly final bend when weakening.
MIKI SKIPPER - required the assistance of a Starting Attendant in the pre-race formation. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Lay outwards rounding the final bend and shifted up the track hampering a trailing runner.
DOVER TERRACE - broke early in the score up however was in position at the start. Weakened from the 900m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stood down to trial on one occasion to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.
Race 3   TOWN & COUNTRY VETS HANDICAP TROT
LOVER BOY - trotted roughly in the run home.
BILLY KIMBER - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. Placed on the Unruly for future standing starts at the request of connections.
NELLIE DOYLE - driver B Orange reported he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
VOLSTONE - broke at the start before switching to a pace losing all chance.
PLAYOFFS - broke after 150m losing all chance. A final warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Driver C McDowell was advised to start wider on the track when drawn Unruly.
NATIVES BLAZIN SON - broke passing the 250m and failed to settle. Stewards lodged a protest against 4th placing being awarded to the gelding under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging NATIVES BLAZIN SON had broken in excess of 50m inside the final 200m. After viewing the replays driver S Ottley did not contest the protest and NATIVES BLAZIN SON was disqualified by Stewards.
Race 4   PALMS MOTEL MOBILE PACE
SHANNON B - paced roughly passing the 1700m. Held up early in the run home.
ART'S MISCHIEF - weakened from the 400m.
CAPTAIN COOL - broke after 150m hampering outside runners losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Paced roughly final bend. Junior driver K Newman, who declined the assistance of a senior driver, admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Newman's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 19 January up to and including 24 January 2025 (2 days).
PUSHTHESKYAWAY - hampered by a breaking runner after 150m. Hung outwards and paced roughly passing the 1700m. Again hung outwards throughout the run home.
LASA - broke at the start losing ground. Broke again shortly after losing further ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Paced roughly racing into the first bend. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
MAJOR MONEYMAKER - hampered by a breaking runner after 150m. Weakened from the 500m.
ITSALLABOUTTHEMONEY - hampered by a breaking runner after 150m.
CARRERA BANDIDO - over-raced middle stages. Held up final bend. Stewards questioned driver C Dalgety regarding the tactics he adopted in the middle stages, in particular when handing up the lead to take a trail near the 1500m. Mr Dalgety advised the gelding had raced greenly and felt his best option was to restrain to obtain cover when challenged for the lead. Stewards noted Mr Dalgety's comments.
Race 5   CLUB WAIMEA PACE
MOONLITE BLOOD - held up early in the run home.
SULTAN OF SWING - connections reported the gelding would race without front shoes. Broke at the start losing ground. Weakened from the 600m and was retired from the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stood down to trial on one occasion to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.
BONDI LUSTRE - connections reported the mare would be racing in foal. Weakened in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance driver T Williams advised the mare was unsuited to racing parked.
Race 6   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS MOBILE PACE
BONO BROWN - over-raced middle stages. Hung outwards rounding the final bend.
MELANDO CHIEF - hung outwards through the early and middle stages causing driver T Walsh considerable difficulty. Weakened final bend.
HI HOPES - over-raced middle stages.
LETS GET TROPICAL - weakened rounding the final bend.
BUDDY REIGN - held up final bend.
SOPHIA BROMAC - connections reported the mare has been served since last racing. Driver J Dunn advised he did not activate the sliding blinds due to having the field covered.
Race 7   TYRE GENERAL TROT
A false start was declared when THE RIVER BOY refused to take up its position and KNOWING ME charged the barrier strand. THE RIVER BOY was sent to the Unruly position for the restart where the gelding will remain for future standing starts. A warning was placed on the barrier record of KNOWING ME.
OUR PEGASUS PEARL - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the final bend.
BULLIT TRAIN - pre-race warmed. Trotted roughly in the early stages. Again trotted roughly in the run home.
HERE COMES JANE - broke rounding the final bend hampering a trailing runner losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
THE RIVER BOY - over-raced in the early stages.
NIGHT LIFE - broke at the start losing all chance.
ZSAZSA BINX - connections reported the mare has had its hocks treated since last racing.
KNOWING ME - driver P Davis reported he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
ALDEBARAN CRYSTAL - connections reported the mare would be racing in season. Trotted roughly at various stages throughout. Weakened from the 300m. Driver J Dunn reported he did not activate the removable deafeners due to the mare trotting roughly.
RANDEL HUSTON P - broke at the start losing ground. Over-raced middle stages. Broke rounding the final bend losing all chance.
Race 8   HOANI JACK CUP MOBILE PACE
AMALFI - over-raced middle stages.
STANLEY'S RULE - when questioned regarding the performance driver B Butt advised that in his opinion the gelding is better suited to racing on grass tracks.
SKY ROCKET - over-raced middle stages.
CLONAKILTY - lay out approaching the 200m and shifted up the track briefly hampering an outside runner. When questioned regarding the performance driver K Butt advised she was disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation.
ALWAYS B YOU - briefly hampered near the 200m when an inside runner shifted out.
Race 9   NELSON PINE INDUSTRIES NELSON CUP (HANDICAP PACE)
SIDESHOW BRUCE - broke at the start and shifted outwards briefly hampering a trailing runner losing ground.
BRYCE'S MEDDLE - briefly hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Weakened rounding the final bend.
BUILT FOR GLORY - broke at the start losing ground. Held up early and middle stages of the run home. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the entire had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
WHO'S DELIGHT - weakened in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Dunn advised the gelding had peaked on its run after starting from a 30m handicap first up from a spell, adding he expected the horse to derive considerable benefit from the race.
RAKERO ROCKET - over-raced middle stages.
Race 10   JACKS BEHRNS / JOE HILL TRIBUTE HANDICAP TROT
THE PRESENT MAKER - pre-race warmed. Held up early in the run home. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages and was unable to be fully driven out by driver W House.
WHAT THE BELL - began awkwardly. Hampered by a breaking runner rounding the final bend.
SPECIAL EFFECTS - broke rounding the final bend hampering trailing runners losing all chance. A final warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
GRETTYMAC - over-raced middle stages. Driver K Butt was warned for being late to arrive at the start area.
BROTHER LOVE - over-raced middle stages.
REGAL SIERRA - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Placed on the Unruly for future standing starts at the request of connections. Hampered by a breaking runner rounding the final bend. Held up early in the run home.

Driver C Dalgety reported the gelding had hung inwards throughout causing him difficulty and he was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding in the coming days.
MILLWOOD GODDESS - hampered by a weakening runner rounding the final bend.
MELODY BANNER - paced roughly for a distance passing the 1500m. Shifted up the track near the 200m briefly hampering an outside runner. Driver T Williams reported the mare had lay out at various stages and he would be recommending gear changes.
SARASOTA SUNSET - connections reported the mare would be racing in season. Hampered by a weakening runner rounding the final bend. Driver T Walsh was warned for using his whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
RADHA - raced wide early. Lay inwards early in the run home before being briefly hampered near the 200m.
