Race 1   SUMMER OUTDOOR MOVIE SERIES, VOTE 4 YOUR PICK MOBILE PACE
MEDINA MAGIC - over-raced middle stages when leading.
SHEZA MERMAID - briefly locked stays with an inside runner near the 250m.
LOUIE V TONNE - commenced to over-race near the 600m when runners improved to its outside. Briefly locked stays with an outside runner near the 250m. Held up early final turn.
JACCKA OPA - raced wide early.
BENSON DUDE - held up throughout the home straight.
MEGYN KELLY - had to be steadied approaching the 150m when inside and outside horses shifted ground.
HEAVEN HIGH - raced wide early before being restrained to the rear. Driver J Darby was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. Mr Darby was also warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home in future.
MR WONDERFUL - removed from the unruly for future mobiles.
Race 2   BRECKON FARMS PARADE DAY 21ST JAN HANDICAP TROT
JASINOVA - locked wheels briefly with an outside runner near the 950m.
CONRAD H - lay in shortly after Driver N Balle activated the deafeners near the 950m and locked wheels briefly with an inside runner before breaking hampering a trailing runner losing considerable ground. Ms Balle was shown the replays and spoken to advisedly in relation to the manner in which she drove in this incident.
VERONICA JANE - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Had to be steadied off the back of JASINOVA passing the 1100m.
BARSUKOV - hampered by a breaking runner near the 950m then broke shortly after losing ground.
SON OF PATRICK - slow early losing considerable ground. Broke near the 150m losing its chance. Driver H Orange reported that the gelding had cast the off fore shoe during the running.
Race 3   MVS EQUINE SUPPORTING STANDARDBRED SALES PREP MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared after SHOWTYM GIRL broke in the score up hampering 2nd row runners before recovering its position. Starter D Blakemore advised that he had not been satisfied that a fair start would have been effected so elected to abort the score up. Stewards took no action against SHOWTYM GIRL other than to note the circumstances.
INNOCENT MAN - weakened final turn.
TYRON'S CONNOISSEUR - over-raced early and had to be steadied near the 1800m when there was an easing of the pace. Continued to over-race middle stages. Weakened final turn.
SPIRITED PEGGY - Driver M Ranger was spoken to in relation to the manner in which she eased the pace near the 1800m.
Race 4   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS MOBILE PACE
PROVISEUR - held up by a weakening runner rounding the final turn.
FABRICATE - weakened final turn. Trainer M House was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice after a middle carrier came adrift during the running.
SHIRLEY BASSEY - raced wide throughout and without cover from the 1000m. Driver K Coppins reported that she sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 550m.
LINCOLN LA MOOSE - raced wide with cover throughout. Driver M McKendry admitted a charge of careless driving after striking and puncturing the sulky tyre of SHIRLEY BASSEY near the 550m. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300.
SPIRIT OF WAIHEKE - raced wide early before being restrained to the rear.
STICKIFINGERS - raced wide early.
BARBAROSSA - over-raced middle stages.
MARGHERITA - had to be steadied off the back of BARBAROSSA near the 1100m. Broke approaching the 250m losing its chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
Race 5   HARAS DES TROTTEURS WAIKATO TROTTERS SUMMER CUP HCP TROT
YUROK - weakened near the 500m.
WINNERS TIME - lay in at various stages and in particular leaving the back straight the final time when hampered by a weakening runner.
DREAMS PAT - broke near the 850m when competing for a position in the running line with VIRGINIA CLOWERS and lost all chance. Stewards questioned Drivers D Balle (DREAMS PAT) and D Butcher (VIRGINIA CLOWERS) in relation to this incident and after viewing the replays and hearing the relative evidence blame could not be solely attributed to either driver or horse so no further action was deemed necessary.
IT AIN'T ME BABE - broke near the 1600m when there was a marginal easing of the pace and lost all chance.
VORONOV - Driver E Johnson reported that she had been unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
TAYLAD TO USE - lay in when attempting to improve three wide near the 900m. Lay in early in the run home when being shifted wider to secure clear running.
Race 6   IRT CAMBRIDGE FLYING STAKES GROUP 3 MOBILE TROT
CON GRAZIA LOVE - over-raced middle stages. Weakened final turn. Driver M McKendry admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip on one occasion free of the rein on the final turn. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr McKendry's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 27 January 2025 (3 days).
IRON LOVE - knuckled over late in the run home.
SHEZ BELLA - held up final turn.
KYVALLEY HOTSPUR - back from position over the latter stages of the score up. When questioned Driver T Mitchell stated that the entire had felt uneven in its gait in the middle stages of the score up so he had been reluctant to place this runner under pressure and had then been unable to fill its position when the mobile accelerated prior to dispatch. A warning was placed on the horse's barrier manners.
Race 7   TAB CAMBRIDGE PACERS FLYING STAKES MOBILE PACE
LITTLE SPIKE - held up early final turn.
REPUBLICAN PARTY - pre-race warmed.
Race 8   BETAVET WAIKATO PACERS SUMMER CUP HANDICAP PACE
THE SURFER - had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early and middle stages of the home straight.
RED RACKHAM - over-raced middle stages.
LADY OF THE LIGHT - raced four wide from the 550m.
INVISIBLE - broke for several strides at the start before galloping again shortly after losing all chance and was retired from the event. Stood down for standing starts pending a satisfactory trial.
Race 9   OFF THE TRACK FOOD AND BEV HANDICAP TROT
CAVIAR NOIRE - broke near the 150m losing its chance.
BUSY CANOODLING - lay out under pressure in the run home. Trainer S McMullan was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to affix the near hind bandage so as not to come adrift over the final stages.
HAYLEY MHOR - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. Stood down for standing starts pending a satisfactory trial.
SUNNY ROBINSON - underwent a veterinary examination prior to this event after having not raced for a considerable length of time and was cleared to start. Broke near the 1600m losing all chance.
ITBETTERBENOW - raced wide early. Broke passing the 200m losing its chance.
Top
