Race 1   BROSNAN TRANSPORT LTD TROT
MONARO MEG - broke at the start losing ground. Weakened final bend.
SILVESTER - driver T Williams advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
TESSAMAE - paced at the start before being broken up by driver B Borcoskie losing ground. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 1600m. Broke again near the 350m losing all chance.
BRIGHTMAN - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1700m.
MA BELLE AMIE - lay inwards and trotted roughly rounding the first bend. Broke near the 1700m hampering trailing runners losing all chance.
PHANTOM SPUR - broke near the 1550m losing ground. Raced wide from the 900m. Broke again near the 400m losing ground before weakening.
JUST CHARLIE - trotted roughly near the 700m losing ground. Weakened over the concluding stages.
STAR INVASION - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Broke again near the 1600m hampering a trailing runner losing ground. Weakened leaving the final bend.
ROCKY IN PARADISE - raced wide early. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 1700m. Broke near the 900m losing all chance.

ROCKCENT - raced wide early.
SHOWGAR - late scratching at 12.15pm on Veterinary advice.
NEWBIEMAINS ARDEN - raced wide without cover for a considerable distance through the middle stages. Lay inwards at various stages throughout causing driver T Williams difficulty. Mr Williams advised he would be recommending gear changes prior to the mare racing next.
VISCOUNT BANNER - lay inwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
YOGI'S COLADA - raced wide early.
MOONSHINER - out of position at the start. Driver J Hay was issued a warning. Raced three wide with cover from the 1300m and without cover from the 800m.
MAJOR LINC - held up leaving the final bend.
SOLAR NEIGH - over-raced middle stages.
DIXIELAND DELIGHT - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver S Iremonger. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Held up early in the run home.
RACIE DALE - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
Race 3   FIRE & SAFETY TRAINING (FAST) PACE
TERRORMYLOVE - began awkwardly. Checked by a breaking runner near the 1100m. Driver O Thornley advised she was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord breaking. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
BLASTFROMTHEPAST - broke after 100m checking a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
GAMELY - fractious prior to the start and required assistance from a Starting Attendant. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Broke after 100m hampering an outside runner losing ground. Hampered by an easing of the pace rounding the first bend. Checked by a breaking runner near the 1100m.
HOWIE ROBYN - awkwardly placed close to the sulky of TROUBLESHOOTER which lay inwards racing into the first bend.
SANS REPOS - checked by a breaking runner near the 1100m.
ROYAL BELLE - hampered by an easing of the pace rounding the first bend. Checked by a breaking runner near the 1100m.
KASARANI - hampered by a breaking runner after 100m. Raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 2100m. Driver S Ottley advised she did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
CHAL VEE POWER - checked by a breaking runner after 100m. Over-raced middle stages.
TROUBLESHOOTER - lay inwards racing into the first bend and was awkwardly placed close to the sulky of HOWIE ROBYN causing an easing of the pace. Broke near the 1100m checking trailing runners losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
FULLA HOT EYRE - weakened from the 700m. When questioned regarding the performance driver C Dalgety advised he was disappointed with the effort and was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the near fore leg. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
TAIKA - broke leaving the final bend losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
Race 4   BROWN & SHIPMAN PACE
DESTINY'S DREAM - held up final bend.
KAIRAKI DELIGHT - held up leaving the final bend.
LONNEKERS - raced wide early. Lay inwards throughout the run home and was unable to be fully driven out. Trainer/driver R Cameron advised he would be making gear changes prior to the gelding racing next.
TAUMUTU LAD - raced wide early.
BELMONT VALOR - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Raced roughly at various stages throughout. Broke again rounding the final bend losing all chance. A warning was also placed on the racing record of the gelding.
Race 5   SOUTH CANTERBURY HYDRAULICS/CATERING SOUTH CANTY TROT
There was a delay to the start when the Starter was not satisfied with the manner in which the field was approaching the barrier with SPEEDING SPIRIT becoming fractious and charging through the barrier strand. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
MEANDAD - lay inwards in the run home.
PRINCE RANIER - weakened near the 700m.
TAKE AFTER ME - broke rounding the first bend losing all chance.
LINE A LOVE - trotted roughly shortly after the start losing ground.
SPEEDING SPIRIT - broke near the 1500m losing all chance.
DOWNTOWN ORLANDO - trainer A Lethaby was issued a warning for presenting the gelding to race with blinds which had not been notified. The hopple loop on the half hopples broke shortly after the start. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
Race 6   NIGHT'N DAY PARK TIMARU (JUNIOR DRIVERS) MOBILE PACE
MAJOR HAPPY - weakened final bend.
HEY TONIGHT - over-raced early stages. Weakened final bend.
GATECRASHER - over-raced middle stages.
COLIN MCBRIDE - weakened leaving the final bend.
BETTOR BE SHARP - over-raced middle stages.
Race 7   AORAKI FRAME & TRUSS/LASER ELECTRICAL TIMARU PACE
FERGALICIOUS - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
FESTUS HAGGEN - began awkwardly.
FRANCO MOTU - raced greenly and shifted outwards rounding the final bend despite the efforts of driver C Thornley.
TOPAZ - broke at the start losing ground.
JOSE QUIVERA - over-raced middle stages.
SPIRITED LOU - broke briefly at the start losing ground.
GENERAL REBECK - weakened leaving the final bend.
Following this race the track was upgraded to Good.
Race 8   MORRISONS SADDLERY & FEED (FILLIES & MARES) MOBILE PACE
SPIRITUAL BLISS - weakened final bend.
GEM N EM - late scratching at 3.00pm on Veterinary advice.
MY TEN GUITARS - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1200m.
DIDJASEEMIKI - attempted to jump a shadow near the 1200m hampering a trailing runner losing ground. Weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Ottley advised the mare had become keen after briefly breaking and may have choked down. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off fore heel.
Race 9   EQUINE VETERINARY SERVICES TROT
JASPRIT TROUBLE - broke leaving the final bend checking a trailing runner losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
CLYDE - began awkwardly.
BONNIE BAGRIE - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Broke again near the 1600m losing all chance.
DARK GHANA - weakened final bend.
LOTUS FRANCO - lay inwards near the 1200m striking track markers. Checked by a breaking runner leaving the final bend.
Race 10   TIMARU HRC RACING WEDNESDAY 2 APRIL MOBILE PACE
MILEY ACE - paced roughly at various stages throughout. Driver S Ottley advised the mare had been causing her steering difficulties.
FERNZ GOLDY - late scratching at 10.00am on Veterinary advice. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
THE HIGHLANDER - held up early and middle stages of the run home and lay outwards when attempting to shift into clear running.
ANN SOPHIE - paced roughly racing into the first bend.
KELTIC TIGER - over-raced early stages.
