Co-Trainer L Neal advised Stewards on 3 January that ROYAL ACTION had scanned positive after being served and would be retired from racing.
Race 10 - SLOTS ON SALE FOR NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS HANDICAP TROT
Driver G Martin admitted a charge under 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly shortly after the start when shifting inwards when not sufficiently clear causing interference to HELSINGOR (F Schumacher). After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Martin's driver's licence from the completion of racing on 03 January 2025 upto and including 17 January 2025 (2 days).

Trainer M Gibbs advised Stewards on 03 January that blood tests taken from BET ON POLLY had shown no irregularity and that he could only attribute the disappointing performance to the mare not handling the track conditions.

Race 1   SEE YOU BACK HERE RACING ON THE 9TH JANUARY TROT
BOSS JO - held up throughout the home straight.
LIGHT O LOVE - Driver E Johnson reported that the cord on the removable deafeners became detached after being activated.
SKEE PRINCESS - lay in contacting a track marker near the 300m. Tended to shift out under pressure over the final stages.
HENRIK LUNDQVIST - weakened from the 700m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing performance.
SAMS THE MAN - broke near the 750m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
KC'S PRINCESS - trotted roughly over the early stages losing ground and trailed the field throughout.
Race 2   SUMMER OUTDOOR MOVIE SERIES AT THE RACEWAY MOBILE PACE
TYRON'S CONNOISSEUR - broke in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier manners.
TINA ACE - weakened leaving the final turn.
SPIRITED PEGGY - raced wide early before being restrained to the rear.
PASS CODE - weakened in the run home.
AUNTY ROSE - reared on leaving the pre-race formation and was slow to score up but was in position at the candy pole. Weakened rounding the final turn. When questioned regarding the performance Co-Trainer/Driver L Hollis advised that he could only attribute the disappointing performance to the filly having to sprint hard to catch the field in the score up.
NEW YORK HUSTLER - slow early. Weakened in the run home.
Race 3   HIRE A VENUE AT CAMBRIDGE RACEWAY MOBILE PACE
MARY MAGDALENE - over-raced middle stages.
ONYX SHARD - late scratching at 9.09am on veterinary advice.
VINCENTS GIRL - the near side hopple connecting strap broke on the final turn. This gear was inspected and found to have been in satisfactory condition. It was noted that the ear plugs were not fitted prior to the commencement of the score up although the removable hood was intact. When questioned Trainer N Chilcott advised that she had been unable to fit the ear plugs under the removable hood after the mare become fractious.
JOES ROCK - paced roughly late in the run home. Authorisation of this runner's 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied that the mare had not broken gait in this incident.
WICKED WANDA - connections advised the mare would be racing in season. Paced roughly near the 1300m after Driver J Stormont activated the hopple shorteners. Over-raced middle stages.
Race 4   OFF THE TRACK FOOD AND BEV HEAT 1 MOBILE PACE
CLOUDING OVER - Driver J Cole was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
PROVISEUR - held up briefly final turn.
EYES TO HEAVEN - approval was given for this mare to race without the near side number after it broke in the preliminary. Contacted track markers rounding the final turn. Driver N Chilcott was issued a warning. Ms Chilcott was also warned for speaking to another driver entering the first turn.
BENJAMIN BUTTON - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
BETTOR REACTION - permission was granted for this runner to come to the mobile early. Broke early in the score up losing ground and was back from position at dispatch. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts. Raced four and five wide from the 750m. Lay in throughout the run home causing Driver M White some difficulty.
MESSENGER BUOY - Driver L Hibell was warned for using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
WATCH YOUR BACK - over-raced early before shifting away from the marker line rounding the first turn. Continued to over-race for a distance when outside the leader.
DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER - raced four wide from the 600m. Lay in rounding the final turn.
Race 5   HAPPY 91st BIRTHDAY CHARLIE HUNTER HEAT 1 HANDICAP TROT
ARADNE - pre-race warmed. Broke rounding the first turn checking a trailing runner losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
BARSUKOV - checked by a breaking runner rounding the first turn and broke losing considerable ground.
DREAMS PAT - shifted out throughout the run home. Driver D Balle was warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home. Mr Balle reported that he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
WINNERS TIME - broke at the start losing ground. Lay in rounding the turns. Weakened in the run home.
Race 6   GARRARDS HORSE AND HOUND HEAT 2 MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared when the boring pole on DOMINUS came adrift during the score up. Trainer P Miller was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to affix the gear so as not to come adrift.
MAJOR MAJOR - hampered passing the 1700m. Lay out throughout the run home.
DOMINUS - paced roughly rounding the final turn.
IRISH WHISPERS - raced wide early and middle stages.
BETA PREPARE - paced roughly passing the 1700m when leading after appearing to jump hampering trailing runners. Driver S Abernethy was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion early in the run home.
AYE AYE CAPTAIN - raced wide early.
BARBAROSSA - hampered passing the 1700m.
ALWAYS B CHARLIE - held up early stages of the run home.
Race 7   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS MOBILE PACE
IRON BRIGADE - held up throughout the run home with Driver J Dickie not activating the deafeners as a result.
LE MAJOR - over-raced middle stages. Driver J Stormont was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
Race 8   TOTE BURGER OPEN WED, THUR, FRI HEAT 2 TROT
KISS MY PIXEL - Driver G Martin was warned for contacting track markers near the 200m.
HELSINGOR - weakened in the run home.
RUN FOREST RUN - raced wide early.
SONSOFTHEMERCH - raced wide early. Broke near the 1750m losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
Race 9   NZMCA PARKING ON SITE MOBILE PACE
TENNESSEEGHOSTPEPPER - commenced to improve near the 600m but was pushed four and five wide before being taken down to the inside and contacted several track markers when in restricted room to the inside of the weakening CRANACHAN near the 300m. Driver M McKendry was warned for using his whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
CRANACHAN - paced roughly shortly after the start. Raced wide early before crossing to the parked position near the 1500m. Weakened from the 400m placing an inside runner in restricted room near the 300m.
