COSMIC ANGEL - hampered by a breaking runner near the 50m and broke and was lapped on by TRIPPY TYRON. After viewing the replays driver P Ferguson advised Stewards the interference had not affected him finishing in a better position. Stewards exercised their discretion under Rule 870(5) and chose not to relegate the mare behind TRIPPY TYRON. | |
COOL PHELAN - hampered by a breaking runner near the 50m. | |
KING OF DIAMONDS - shied approaching the winning post hampering outside runners then broke and continued on in a gallop across the finish line. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Stewards lodged a protest against 1st placing being awarded to the gelding after it was lapped on by SON OF PATRICK at the finish. After viewing the replays the connections did not contest the protest and KING OF DIAMONDS was relegated to 2nd placing by the Stewards. | |
HIGHVIEW ROCKN ROLL - broke near the 300m losing all chance. | |
SON OF PATRICK - finished 2nd but promoted to 1st placing after KING OF DIAMONDS broke over the concluding stages and was in a gallop across the finish line and lapped on. | |
QUERCUS RUBRA - broke near the 1900m losing considerable ground. Switched into a pace near the crossing then had to be broken up by driver M Hay. |

BET ON POLLY - a post-race veterinary examination at the request of connections revealed no abnormalities. Trainer M Gibbs advised he will have blood tests conducted on the mare in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results. | |
MISS WOODVILLE - over-raced on occasions throughout. | |
TRES BONNE FILLE - over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to take cover and shifted out rounding the first bend. Paced roughly near the 1500m then continued to over-race during the middle stages. Briefly contacted the stays of MEGYN KELLY passing the 150m. | |
MEGYN KELLY - improved wide from the 1200m to sit outside the leader. Lay inwards passing the 900m. Paced roughly rounding the final bend and throughout the run home briefly contacting the stays of TRES BONNE FILLE passing the 150m. Cleared from the unruly. |

BET ON STEPH - required assistance of a Starter's Assistant to lead the horse up in the pre-race formation after the mare was fractious. Paced roughly in the score up and broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. | |
THE ELITE ATHLETE - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home. | |
CALL SECURITY - lay inwards near the 100m hampering BAILEYS PITCH. Driver D Ferguson was warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home in future. | |
BAILEYS PITCH - Held up early in the run home. Placed in restricted room near the 100m when CALL SECURITY shifted inwards. | |
