LOTUS FRANCO - lay outwards when attempting to take the passing lane early in the run home.
WEE WESTY - broke near the 1400m checking a trailing runner losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation during the middle stages.
BACARDI DOLL - checked by a breaking runner near the 1400m. Weakened final bend.
KOWHAI SUNBURST - lay inwards in the run home having to be corrected by driver S Ottley.
Race 2   BEHRNS FAMILY MOBILE PACE
RACIE DALE - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Hung inwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
WOODLEA DIAMOND - raced wide early.
HEAVEN FORBID - refused to score up and took no part in the race. Declared a non-runner by Stewards under Rule 213(1)(e) due to unsatisfactory manners prior to the start. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a mobile start prior to resuming.
Race 3   KEITH WOOLLEY FENCING MOBILE PACE
SEASIDE FANTASY - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Held up early in the run home.
VARENNA FRANCO - paced roughly shortly after the start. Raced greenly at various stages throughout. Lay inwards and paced roughly in the run home.
NEWBIEMAINS ARDEN - lay inwards in the run home having to be corrected by driver T Williams.
PUSHTHESKYAWAY - hung outwards over the concluding stages.
SHOWGAR - paced roughly rounding the final bend.
Race 4   NORTH CANTERBURY TROTTING TROT
IDEAL INVASION - trainer J Clementson was issued a warning for presenting the gelding to race without the notified pacifier. Broke after 200m hampering a trailing runner losing ground. Weakened from the 800m. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
FIVE MONKEYS - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Weakened final bend.
MM SUNSHINE - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer/driver R Holmes advised that after gaining the lead early in the race the horse had been suited by being able to dictate terms in front.
BLINK N BONES - hampered by a breaking runner after 200m.
ROYAL GRACE - held up early in the run home.
Race 5   MORRISON'S SADDLERY MOBILE PACE
KATHERINE - contacted a track marker leaving the final bend before breaking hampering a trailing runner and losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare. Driver J Young-Grant was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for contacting a track marker.
MOLLY BELWIN - hampered by a breaking runner early in the run home.
CLASSIE LINC - over-raced early and middle stages. Driver S Tomlinson was issued a warning for trailing too closely during the running.
Race 6   KAIAPOI WMC RACING SECTION MOBILE PACE
TOPAZ - lay inwards middle stages.
VINCENT REACTRESS - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend.
DOUBLE QUICK - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend. Over-raced middle stages. Driver J Dunn advised he did not activate the hopple shorteners due to the mare pacing roughly.
DON'T TELL JENNY - broke near the 1700m checking trailing runners losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare. Had to be steadied near the 1250m after a slight easing of the pace.
BONNIE'S GIRL - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend.
CAUGHT THE EYE - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend. Driver T Williams advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
Race 7   COUNTRY FEASTS HANDICAP PACE
FERGALICIOUS - broke at the start losing ground.
HANOI FRANCO - tangled at the start. Weakened leaving the final bend.
THE HIGHLANDER - over-raced middle stages. Held up final bend.
KNOCKSHANBALLY - raced four wide from the 600m.
ELITE STYX - over-raced middle stages.
GOORAMBAT ART - broke near the 2050m losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
FLYAWAY - raced wide early. Hung inwards final bend and struck a track marker when weakening hampering a trailing runner.
HEAVEN - raced wide early. Hampered by a weakening runner final bend. Held up leaving the final bend and struck the final track marker prior to the passing lane. Driver G O'Reilly was issued a warning.
Race 8   BERLINGTON BERTIE MOBILE PACE
HILDA MAUD - hung outwards rounding the final bend and in the run home and shifted up the track despite the efforts of driver J Dunn. Mr Dunn advised the mare had locked on one rein throughout causing him difficulty. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
BONO BROWN - held up by a weakening runner leaving the final bend. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
FAST ACE - raced wide early. Weakened leaving the final bend hampering a trailing runner.
KING ARTHUR - over-raced middle stages.
Race 9   BALCAIRN STOCKFOODS HANDICAP TROT
THE BLOSS - driver R Harrison was issued a warning for speaking to another driver during the running. Shifted into the passing lane in the run home when leading. Miss Harrison was also issued a warning to ensure she leaves full access to the passing lane for trailing runners.
DESBOIS - weakened from the 900m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
ROCK LOBSTER - broke at the start losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a standing start prior to resuming.
THE ROYAL GAMBLE - trotted roughly rounding the final bend before breaking near the 400m losing all chance.
REGAL SIERRA - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Held up early in the run home. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
HELLOVEAMOMENT - contacted a track marker near the 1100m. Driver S Ottley was issued a warning.
SUNNY LOUIS - raced wide without cover from the 750m.
ROYAL DEL - driver C DeFilippi was issued a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
WHO'S QUEEN - slow in the early stages losing considerable ground. Broke rounding the final bend when trailing the field.
Race 10   RANGIORA HRC CONGRATULATES SAM OTTLEY MOBILE PACE
HES SANTAS EXCUSE - weakened early in the run home. Driver S Thornley reported the gelding may be feeling the effects of recent racing.
SOCIAL DISTANCING - contacted the sulky wheel of HES SANTAS EXCUSE leaving the final bend. Driver R Close was issued a warning.
ACENTO - raced wide early.
WHOSDREAMINGNOW - weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Ottley advised the gelding had travelled lethargically throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
CAPTAIN KOBE - held up early in the run home.
FLYING FOR ME - driver B Orange's foot slipped from the sulky footrest early in the run home when activating gear.
