Race 1   STEW ASHWORTH - WISHING YOU ALL THE BEST HANDICAP TROT
REBEL CASTLETON - delayed the start after having become fractious. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Broke at the start losing considerable ground. Broke near the 600m losing all chance.
BUSY CANOODLING - broke passing the 1800m losing ground before settling. Authorisation of 2nd placing was withheld until the Stewards were satisfied the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation. Cast a bell boot near the 1200m.
LOVE ME SHARP - broke shortly after the start losing ground.
FIGHT FOR FREEDOM - broke briefly at the start. Broke near the 1300m losing all chance. Stood down to trial on one occasion to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming. The off fore bandage came adrift during the running. Trainer R Downey was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to affix the bandage so as not to come adrift.
PAT YATES - broke shortly after the start losing ground.
TRIFOLIUM - broke passing the 400m losing ground. Lay inwards contacting a track marker rounding the final bend.
Race 2   DUNSTAN SPEEDFEED SUMMER SERIES MOBILE PACE
LITTLE HOOFANANNY - hampered by a breaking runner entering the first bend. Hampered again by a breaking runner near the 300m.
ALWAYS B STUNNING - hampered by a breaking runner entering the first bend.
GOTTA GO MIKI - hampered by a breaking runner entering the first bend. Broke passing the 300m hampering a trailing runner losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly.
FRISCO BAY - hampered by a breaking runner entering the first bend.
LEWEY MAGUIRE - broke entering the first bend hampering outside and trailing runners but soon settled. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
Race 3   BRECKON FARMS JUVENILE CLASSIC MOBILE PACE
ABMAN - when questioned regarding the performance Driver D Butcher stated that he was satisfied with the gelding's performance given the calibre of the field.
ROY KENT - placed in restricted room briefly passing the 200m when runners either side shifted ground.
GREASED LIGHTNIN - lay inwards rounding the final bend having to be straightened.
KEVIN KLINE - over-raced middle stages. Contacted the sulky wheel of DEBBIE LINCOLN passing the 200m when insider runners shifted outwards.
CHEER THE CAPTAIN - shifted outwards on straightening for the run home placing outside runners in restricted room. After hearing from Driver J Dickie and viewing the replays Mr Dickie was warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the home straight in future.
DEBBIE LINCOLN - placed in restricted room near the 200m when a inside runner shifted outwards.
Race 4   ROGERS REUNION MOBILE PACE
SUGAR RAY LINCOLN - paced roughly approaching the 400m losing ground. Held up throughout the home straight when unable to secure clear running and paced roughly over the concluding stages.
IRON BRIGADE - raced in restricted room when rounding the final bend and contacted a track marker near the 250m. Paced roughly after contacting the final two track markers and racing inside the final track marker prior to the passing lane. Stewards were satisfied that no unfair advantage had been gained. Driver J Dickie admitted an associated charge under Rule 869(7A)(a). After viewing the replays and considering penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $150.
MAGICIAN - late scratching at 12.56pm on veterinary advice.
INVISIBLE - raced wide early. Lay inwards placing an inside runner in restricted room near the 250m.
ROUGH AND READY - raced four wide from the 650m before laying inwards entering the final bend.
LOUEZYANA - lay inwards contacting a track marker near the 1350m.
Race 5   DUNSTAN SPEEDFEED SUMMER SERIES HANDICAP TROT
A false start was declared at the first attempt when the 20m barrier failed to release. All barriers were hand held for the restart.
JASINOVA - broke shortly after the start hampering a trailing runner losing considerable ground. Broke again near the 2250m when trailing the field losing all chance.
FATHER BARRY - pre-race warmed. Broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
ITAINTNECESSARILYSO - broke shortly after the start losing ground before settling. Raced wide early.
BELLE NEIGE - steadied near the 350m resulting in an easing of the pace.
FEARLESS - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Steadied near the 350m when there was an easing of the pace.
CON GRAZIA LOVE - contacted the sulky wheel of FEARLESS near the 300m after there was an easing of the pace which resulted in the tyre being punctured and coming off the rim. A protest was lodged under Rule 869A(2) by connections of FEARLESS placed 4th against 3rd placing being awarded to CON GRAZIA LOVE (M McKendry) on the grounds of alleged interference in this incident. After hearing the relative evidence and viewing the replays the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the protest. Stewards took no action against Driver M McKendry in this incident due to the easing of the pace simultaneously to his move outwards.
MAGIC DASH - fractious prior to the restart.
Race 6   MAGNESS BENROW SIRES STAKES FILLIES & MARES CLASSIC MOB PACE
KOURTNEY KARDASH - weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner.
AKATEA - Co-Trainer S Telfer was warned for being late to notify the filly would be racing with blinds instead of the notified sliding blinds. Hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
MR KAPLAN - Co-Trainer N Purdon was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for presenting the mare without the notified removable deafeners. Lay inwards contacting a track marker rounding the final bend.
SEACLUSION - refused to follow the mobile in the early stages of the score up and took no part. Declared a non runner by Stewards under Rule 213(1)(e) for unsatisfactory barrier manners. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a mobile start prior to resuming.
Race 7   PETER BRECKON MEMORIAL NATIONAL TROT FFA MOBILE TROT
The start was delayed when FAITH IN MANCHESTER required attention to its gear in the initial stages of the score up.
VIRGINIA CLOWERS - broke near the 250m losing all chance.
OSCAR BONAVENA - pre-race warmed. Broke late in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the entire. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied that OSCAR BONAVENA had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
MUSCLE MOUNTAIN - approval was given for this runner to race in trainer J Dickie's colours. Driver B Hope was issued a warning for crossing his reins late in the run home to perform a celebratory gesture.
FAITH IN MANCHESTER - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Lay inwards contacting track markers near the 2300m.
AMERICAN MUSCLE - trotted roughly and was back from position throughout the score up. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
DREAM OF YOU - broke passing the 300m losing all chance.
Race 8   WOODLANDS STUD - TAB NORTHERN METRO FINAL MOBILE PACE
WALTZING WITH MIKI - over-raced middle stages. Held up rounding the final bend and over the final 50m.
TWISTA - raced four wide from the 600m.
THE SURFER - lay inwards rounding the bends. Had difficulty obtaining clear running throughout the home straight with Driver D Butcher not activating the removable deafeners in consequence.
ULTIMATE RACY GIRL - held up early stages of the run home.
Race 9   TRILLIAN TRUST AUCKLAND TROTTING CUP (STAND PACE)
The start was briefly delayed due to the shadow roll on REPUBLICAN PARTY requiring replacement.
MIKI SHAN - crowded by an outside runner and paced roughly entering the first bend. Stewards questioned drivers M McKendry (MIKI SHAN) and G Sugars (BETTER ECLIPSE) in relation to this incident. After hearing from both drivers and viewing the replays Stewards were unable to solely attribute blame to either driver or horse and took the matter no further.
JOLIMONT - back from position when the barriers were released then broke at the start losing ground.
BETTER ECLIPSE - lay inwards entering the first bend crowding an inside runner.
VILLAGE REBEL - weakened leaving the final bend.
MERLIN - raced wide early stages. Over-raced and lay outwards near the 1300m becoming awkwardly placed on the back of VILLAGE REBEL and contacted the wheel. Raced wide from the 600m.
LADY OF THE LIGHT - raced wide early. Weakened final bend.
DON'T STOP DREAMING - held up final bend.
THE BIG LEBOWSKI - Trainer R Green was warned for presenting the gelding to race with fixed deafeners instead of the notified removable deafeners.
Race 10   LONESTAR ALEX PARK - TAB NORTHERN METRO FINAL HCP TROT
A false start was declared at the first attempt when the front barrier failed to clear EYRE I WILL which was fractious prior to the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
EYRE I WILL - lay outwards for a distance passing the 1800m.
ROMEO FOXTROT - broke at the start losing all chance.
A TROPHY WIFE - held up rounding the final bend and early stages of the run home.
SANINARMBRO - lay inwards contacting a track marker approaching the 250m.
REGAL GIRL - Stewards investigated a possible breach of the Push Out Rule when this runner raced wider after SUNSET HILL shifted away from the marker line near the 1150m. It was established that Driver T Macfarlane (SUNSET HILL) had commenced his outward movement prior to REGAL GIRL reaching its sulky wheel and no further action was deemed necessary.
