When questioned Driver T Mitchell advised that he had felt that the gelding had commenced to choke down so took this runner clear of the field for safety reasons. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormality. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners. | |

A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners. Authorisation of placings was withheld until Driver L Neal confirmed that this runner had not been denied a fair start. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the request of connections who were concerned that the horse may of been lame however no significant abnormality was detected. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days. | |

THE BIG LEBOWSKI - required assistance from an attendant in the pre-race formation. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. When questioned regarding the performance Driver Z Butcher stated that he had attempted to improve three wide approaching the 1400m but forward runners shifted out off the marker line in front of him. He further stated he then attempted to improve down the back straight the final time but had been unable to hold the back of LITTLE SPIKE and had raced wide thereafter. Mr Butcher also added that he had been more than satisfied with the performance given the 35m handicap and the manner in which the race had been run. |
