Connections advised Stewards on 15 December that INQUIZITIVE MAN has been treated for a virus since last racing.
Race 8 - GOLD BAND TAXIS MOBILE PACE
Junior driver R Harrison (SIR MONTY) assisted by G Smith, admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that she drove carelessly early in the run home when striking the sulky wheel of MILLIES SENSATION which punctured. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Miss Harrison's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 15 December up to and including 22 December 2024 (2 days).

Race 1   ROAD METALS/KEITH WOOLLEY FENCING TROT
B K MUMMA JAMIE - broke briefly at the start and trotted roughly in the early stages losing ground.
TESSAMAE - broke at the start losing ground. Over-raced middle stages and was hampered by a slight easing of the pace near the 1200m.
KERRALLY - broke near the 150m losing its chance.
ALMIGHTY - when questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver K Butt advised the filly may be feeling the effects of recent travel to the Wingatui meeting.
RUTHLESS EMMA - slow to begin.
WHAT THE DRAGON - broke near the 1500m losing all chance.
HANK HILL - broke near the 350m losing all chance.
Race 2   MORRIS & MARGARET VERMEULEN MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE
AMBLESIDE DRIVE - over-raced middle stages. Held up over the concluding stages.
ECHAPPE - broke over the concluding stages losing ground.
RAKERO LIGHTNING - raced wide early.
FREEDOMS BEAUTY - over-raced middle stages. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home. Driver K Butt advised she did not activate the removable deafeners as a result.
WILLOW VALLEY - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Trailed the field and raced uncompetitively throughout. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the filly.
Race 3   PETER BAGRIE MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE
COSMIC STAR - raced wide early.
QUICKER THAN QUICK - raced three wide from the 600m. Lay inwards and paced roughly leaving the final bend.
MAJOR MONEYMAKER - raced wide early. Weakened final bend.
THE MANTIS - raced greenly leaving the final bend and lay outwards in the run home. Driver J Morrison advised he would be recommending gear changes prior to the gelding racing next.
LONNEKERS - shied outwards racing over the crossing near the 1600m.
STATE TROOPER - raced wide early.
DOVER TERRACE - weakened final bend.
REVOLUTION - over-raced and was awkwardly placed close to the sulky of GIRLSHAVTIME near the 1000m and paced roughly losing ground. Weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Butt advised the gelding may have choked down and he would be recommending gear changes prior to resuming.
GREETS - raced wide early.
Race 4   KAIAPOI CLUB / MORRISONS SADDLERY MOBILE PACE
BIG MAMA MORRIS - weakened final bend hampering trailing runners. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Tomlinson advised she was disappointed with the effort and was unable to provide any explanation.
BAILEYS BAY - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts. Held up early in the run home.
DULCINEA - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
HEY TONIGHT - raced wide early.
ANN SOPHIE - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
EDDIE JAMES - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
Race 5   JACK BEHRNS MEMORIAL TROT
SCHOEMAKER - fractious prior to the start requiring assistance from a Starting Attendant. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
DIAMOND HARBOUR - raced wide early.
ONE MHOR FOR HEATHER - fractious prior to the start requiring assistance from a Starting Attendant. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
STEELINTHEHEEL - broke near the 1300m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
KISS ME KATE - held up leaving the final bend.
HIGH NOON - held up early in the run home.
Race 6   COUNTRY FEASTS MOBILE PACE
MOET SHARD - held up early in the run home.
FRANCO TIM - raced wide early. Held up throughout the run home. Driver G Thornley advised she did not activate the removable deafeners as a result.
TO RI RUBY - raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 1300m.
OCEAN BREEZE - a post-race veterinary and endoscopic examination at the request of connections revealed a displaced palate. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
NOT OVER - raced wide early until reaching the parked position at the 800m. Driver C Dalgety advised a hopple shortener cord became entangled after being activated.
SANTANNA MACH - the two minute breast plate clip broke during the running. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
IZACHEAPEE - over-raced early stages.
Race 7   NEW WORLD RANGIORA SUMMER CUP (HANDICAP PACE)
TANZANIA - held up early in the run home.
KISS THE GIRLS - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the middle stages of the run home.
BUCKSKIN - when questioned regarding the performance driver K Butt advised the gelding had been pacing roughly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
BOUDICA - raced wide from the 900m.
EVANGALIST - slow to begin. Raced wide from the 900m.
HERE'S HERBIE - raced wide from the 1000m. Weakened final bend. Driver C DeFilippi advised he was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
AUDACITY - raced wide middle stages.
Race 8   PETER SMITH MEMORIAL HANDICAP PACE
STYLE COUNCIL - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
PICCADILLY PETE - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Raced wider on the track near the 1800m when RUBY'S A DELIGHT shifted outwards.
JUST HOLLA - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Lay inwards near the 1700m striking several track markers. Over-raced middle stages.
HEAVEN - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
GENERAL REBECK - broke shortly after the start and shifted inwards checking inside runners losing ground. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts. Over-raced early stages. Weakened final bend.
FRANCO MESSI - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
PURE COURAGE - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
DONE ROCKN - lay inwards leaving the final bend striking a track marker.
RUBY'S A DELIGHT - shifted outwards near the 1800m with PICCADILLY PETE racing wider on the track. Stewards investigated a possible breach of the Push Out Rule where it was established RUBY'S A DELIGHT had commenced to shift outwards prior to PICCADILLY PETE reaching its wheel and took the matter no further. Had to be steadied near the 1600m when crowded after PICCADILLY PETE shifted inwards. Stewards questioned drivers W House (RUBY'S A DELIGHT) and S Ottley (PICCADILLY PETE) regarding this incident and after viewing replays and considering their explanation, Stewards warned Miss Ottley for the manner in which she drove at this stage of the race.
Race 9   NORTH CANTERBURY TROTTING HANDICAP TROT
REGAL SIERRA - held up leaving the final bend.
IDEAL INVASION - broke entering the first bend losing ground. Weakened final bend.
EDWARD LONGSHANKS - broke briefly near the 200m and attempted to pace having to be restrained by driver T Williams.
TE RAPA - pre-race warmed.
MAVIS JONES - pre-race warmed. Held up early in the run home.
ROCK LOBSTER - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
Race 10   BALCAIRN STOCKFOODS MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared when BRYSON DECHAMBEAU broke in the score up checking trailing runners. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver C Dalgety elected to remain in his allocated barrier position for the restart.
BRYSON DECHAMBEAU - over-raced early stages. The boring pole detached late in the run home. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
DANCE WITH THE BOSS - broke early in the score up at the first attempt at a start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
BIGGLES - raced wide from the 600m.
SKY ROCKET - paced roughly over the concluding stages.
KOTARE KELSO - lay outwards in the middle stages of the run home having to be corrected by driver B Butt.
