SZYBKA LANE - driver R Harrison reported the removable deafeners would not activate due to the cord becoming entangled. Stewards questioned Miss Harrison, who declined the assistance of a senior driver, regarding her decision to shift outwards from the trailing position rounding the final bend as opposed to waiting to access the passing lane. Miss Harrison explained she believed ALWAYS B THERE, which she was following, appeared to be under pressure and she was losing ground when the horses to her outside were improving, so she elected to shift ground outwards prior to the passing lane. After hearing her explanation, Stewards were satisfied that at the stage Miss Harrison shifted out her actions were not unreasonable in the circumstances, given the horses to her outside were improving and the leader ALWAYS B THERE appeared to be under pressure and took the matter no further.
