Race 1   THE TYRE GENERAL MOBILE TROT
ZSAZSA BINX - weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Tomlinson advised she was disappointed with the effort and the mare had been making abnormal breathing noises during the running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high respiratory rate and slow recovery with blood tests recommended. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
WHAT THE BELL - broke near the 900m losing ground. Raced four wide from the 700m.
NOAH MAGNIFIC - broke at the start losing all chance and was retired from the race. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
GEORGE ELIOT - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Broke near the 1500m hampering a trailing runner losing ground. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation when in a break during the running. A post-race veterinary examination at the request of connections revealed lameness in the right front leg. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
GRETTYMAC - trotted roughly late in the run home.
PARIS PRINCE - raced wide early. Held up final bend.
SON OF PATRICK - out of position at the candy pole despite the efforts of driver W House. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
ASPIRATIONAL DREAM - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1500m.
DASHER - broke in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
Race 2   AVENUE BLOODSTOCK MOBILE PACE
DIDJASEEMIKI - raced wide early. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
THE MANDALORIAN - held up early in the run home.
EDICT - raced wide early. Driver T Williams admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he struck and punctured the sulky tyre of REVOLUTION near the 250m. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Williams' driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 7 December up to and including 12 December 2024 (2 days).
LOCHDARRAGH - hung outwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Raced wide early.
ROCKINGOOD - hung outwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Raced wide early. Jumped a shadow near the 1100m and broke losing ground. Trainer B Hill advised he would consider returning the horse to the trials prior to resuming.
REVOLUTION - over-raced early and middle stages. Driver C DeFilippi advised he sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 250m with the tyre coming off the rim over the concluding stages.
Race 3   EQUINE PRODUCTS (NZ) LTD MOBILE PACE
TABASCO - held up final bend.
KNOCKSHANBALLY - over-raced middle stages. Weakened leaving the final bend.
MIKI'S COURAGE - raced wide without cover from the 1300m. Hung inwards for a distance near the 700m.
BUDDHA - lay inwards for a distance passing the 1100m. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home. Driver R Close advised he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
COMMANDER JOE - over-raced middle stages. Held up final bend and throughout the run home.
SHEPHERDS DELIGHT - over-raced middle stages.
ITOJE - raced wide with cover from the 1300m. Lay inwards under pressure over the concluding stages despite the efforts of driver N Williamson.
Race 4   WOODLANDS 2025 YEARLING DRAFT MOBILE PACE
COURTNEY ROSE - paced roughly late in the score up.
CARDI B - raced wide without cover from the 1100m.
FERNLEIGH BLACKBIRD - raced wide early. Raced wide with cover from the 1100m. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Thornley advised he was disappointed and unable to provide any explanation. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
Race 5   GARRARDS NEW ZEALAND TROTTING DERBY (MOBILE TROT)
LOOK TO DA STARS - pre-race warmed.
KEAYANG ZAHARA - pre-race warmed.
PARAMOUNT KIWI - broke as the start was effected hampering a trailing runner losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
PRINCESS SADIE - trotted roughly rounding the final bend.
OLIVER - out of position at the start. Driver C DeFilippi defended a breach of Rule 858(1)(i) and (m) in that he was back from his allocated position at the candy pole and the start. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr DeFilippi the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the charge.
EDWARD LONGSHANKS - broke as the start was effected losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
A REASON TO FIGHT - broke in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Weakened final bend.
BRING ON THE MUSCLE - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
COUNTLESS QUESTIONS - back from the unruly position at the start. Over-raced middle stages. Weakened final bend.
Race 6   THE CHRISTIAN CULLEN (MOBILE PACE)
DON'T STOP DREAMING - driver B Orange reported he sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 250m.
PINSEEKER - held up throughout the run home.
RAKERO ROCKET - struck and punctured the sulky tyre of DON'T STOP DREAMING near the 250m. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until firstly driver B Orange (DON'T STOP DREAMING) placed 4th had viewed the replays and confirmed he did not wish to proceed with a protest and secondly Stewards were satisfied that given the margin at the finish there were no grounds for a protest to be lodged by Stewards. Driver G Smith admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly when shifting ground and striking the wheel of DON'T STOP DREAMING near the 250m. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Smith's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 17 December 2024 (4 days).
Race 7   BRAXTON FARRIERS 'WORTHY QUEEN' HANDICAP TROT
I DREAM OF JEANNIE - struck the final track marker prior to the passing lane. Driver S Thornley was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice.
MYSTIC MAX - began awkwardly. Weakened final bend.
MIGHTY LOGAN - broke at the start losing ground. Trotted roughly through the early and middle stages losing further ground. Weakened from the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities other than a loose near hind shoe.
ONE OVER ALL - broke at the start losing all chance.
OSCAR BONAVENA - pre-raced warmed.
Race 8   GARRARDS NEW ZEALAND PACING DERBY (MOBILE PACE)
RENEGADE - placed in restricted room momentarily by an outside runner shortly after the start. Over-raced middle stages. Checked and locked wheels with HES FROM HEAVEN near the 350m losing all chance.
VESSEM - driver J Cox admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Cox's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 8 December up to and including 17 December 2024 (5 days) and imposed a fine of $300.
BETTER KNUCKLE UP - hung inwards shortly after the start placing an inside runner in restricted room momentarily.
HADRON COLLIDER - held up early in the run home.
HARRISON JOHN - raced wide early. Shied and broke briefly passing the 1600m.
JEREMIAH - held up early in the run home.
CHASE A DREAM - out of position at the start. Driver B Orange was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice. Raced wide from the 1400m. Blundered shortly after the finish line and was immediately restrained by driver B Orange. Attended to by the on course Veterinarian before being transported from the track in the Horse Ambulance. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities with further assessment recommended to be undertaken in the coming days. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
HES FROM HEAVEN - out of position at the start. Driver G Sugars was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice. Lay outwards for a distance passing the 600m and then broke near the 350m and shifted outwards checking RENEGADE and IT'S TOUGH with RENEGADE and HES FROM HEAVEN locking wheels and losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the colt.
WE WALK BY FAITH - held up early in the run home.
IT'S TOUGH - raced four wide from the 900m. Checked by a breaking runner near the 350m.
BAZOOKA - had to steadied near the 1800m after a slight easing of the pace.
BUILT FOR GLORY - had to be steadied near the 1800m after a slight easing of the pace. Over-raced middle stages. Forced to race four wide near the 900m. Hampered near the 350m.
Race 9   AZAP ELECTRICAL MOBILE TROT
A false start was declared when MAJESTIC LOVE was slow to leave the pre-race formation and required assistance from a Starting Attendant and then was hindered in the score up and unable to take up its barrier position. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
SUNNY LOUIS - trotted roughly late in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the horse.
READY SET JET - held up middle stages of the run home.
STYX JEWEL - trotted roughly in the run home and was unable to be fully driven out.
MASTER CLASS - lay outwards early in the run home and was unable to utilise the passing lane despite the efforts of driver K Butt.
ROYAL DEL - raced wide early.
TU TANGATA - raced wide early.

TIMES LIKE THESE - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Over-raced middle stages.
BETTOR OFF - hung outwards and paced roughly late in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Paced roughly for a distance after the start. Attempted to pull up near the 900m resulting in an easing of the pace hampering trailing runners. Lay outwards rounding the final bend and then shifted ground outwards having to be straightened near the 150m.
LA CONCHA - hampered by an easing of the pace near the 900m.

ALWAYS ON SALE - fractious and slow to leave the pre-race formation and was out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver B Barclay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Raced fiercely passing the 1500m causing driver B Barclay considerable difficulty being awkwardly placed on the back of TOBY TOM B and broke briefly before being shifted wider on the track for safety reasons. A warning was also placed on the racing record of the gelding. Weakened final bend hampering trailing runners.
