MASSIVE MERC - broke near the 600m losing considerable ground. Authorisation of the promoted 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation when in a break during the running. | |
TARRAGINDI - placed in restricted room momentarily near the 1100m when an outside runner lay inwards. Lay outwards early in the run home hampering an outside runner before breaking passing the 190m for a distance before settling. Stewards lodged a protest against 2nd placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the gelding had broken in excess of 50m inside the final 200m. After viewing the replays driver M Williamson did not contest the protest and TARRAGINDI was disqualified by the Stewards. | |
