Race 2 - TAB - NORTHERN METRO PACERS SERIES HEAT 1 MOBILE PACE
Co-Trainer R Dunn advised Stewards on 29 November that DOUBLE QUICK has recovered well since its last start and failed to handle racing right handed. Mr Dunn added the horse has been returned to their Canterbury stable to continue its current preparation.

Race 1   THE ALEX BAR & EATERY MOBILE PACE
MACK PACK - held up early final turn.
GOTTA GO MIKI - lay out racing down the back straight the final time.
TYSON - back from position at dispatch despite the efforts of Driver M McKendry. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Lay in near the 950m contacting track markers.
DEAR GOD - lay in rounding the turns and contacted track markers near the 950m. Weakened in the run home.
POTTER - unsuccessfully contested for the lead in the early stages.
DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER - over-raced briefly middle stages.
Race 2   BORDER FENCING SERVICES HANDICAP TROT
HEARTBREAK HOTEL - broke shortly after the start and raced over track markers losing ground. Broke near the 1750m losing further ground. Broke again near the 1200m losing its chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
HILLBILLY - held up final turn. Driver M McKendry was questioned regarding his apparent lack of vigour late in the run home. Mr McKendry stated that he was mindful that the two year old gelding which was having its 4th race day start had galloped rounding the final turn losing its chance at its previous start. As a result he had been reluctant to place this runner under additional pressure after having applied the whip on several occasions when improving in the passing lane inside the 100m. He further explained that he felt that HILLBILLY had been doing its best and would not have finished in a better position. After considering the matter and viewing the replays Mr McKendry's explanation was noted however he was reminded of his obligations to ensure that his runners are driven out to the end of the race where circumstances allow in the future.
VERONICA JANE - pre-race warmed. Fractious prior to the start. Broke near the 1750m losing ground. Broke again near the 1400m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
HELSINGOR - weakened final turn.
FIGHT FOR FREEDOM - broke near the 1700m losing ground. Broke again near the 300m losing its chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
LOTERIA - pre-race warmed.
ITBETTERBENOW - trotted roughly rounding the final turn and weakened in the run home.
Race 3   CHALLENGE GLOBAL LOGISTICS 2YO MOBILE PACE
BEACHBREAK - broke in the score up and was back from position at the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Over-raced down the back straight the final time.
BEAUDIENE HUNTER - Co-Trainers S & A Telfer were issued with a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for presenting the gelding to race with blinds that were not notified. Raced keenly middle stages.
TYRON'S CONNOISSEUR - broke early in the score up but was in position at the candy pole. Weakened in the run home.
MIKI FLYBYE - lay in and contacted a track marker approaching the 200m.
PRINCESS LISA - lay in near the 200m after having been shifted wider.
Race 4   NZ STAFF - NORTHERN METRO TROTTERS SERIES FINAL HCP TROT
BARSUKOV - broke and shifted out at the start hampering FIVE O'CLOCK GERRY losing considerable ground.
ARADNE - pre-race warmed.
ROMEO FOXTROT - held up rounding the final turn and early in the run home.
SANINARMBRO - Driver R Downey was warned for driving with his foot free of the footrest over the initial 350m.
BRAVEHEARTHIGHLANDER - shifted out on straightening for the run home.
FIVE O'CLOCK GERRY - hampered at the start. Had difficulty obtaining clear running early in the home straight.
ONE MORE MOMENT - lay out and shifted wider throughout the run home.
Race 5   BLUECHIP IT MOBILE PACE
COMMANDER LINCOLN - briefly steadied when placed in restricted room to the inside of WATCH YOUR BACK racing into the first turn.
MESSENGER BUOY - held up final turn.
ALWAYS B STUNNING - raced wide early and middle stages before crossing to the parked position near the 1500m.
BARBAROSSA - over-raced middle stages. Lay out near the 600m contacting and puncturing the sulky wheel of CONRAD H and then broke with the near hind hopple loop breaking losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners. Driver K Coppins (assisted by T Mitchell) was shown the replay and spoken to advisedly in relation to the manner in which she drove in the incident near the 600m. Ms Coppins advised that BARBAROSSA had been contacting its own sulky wheel with a hind leg causing it to over-race.
GLADYS GREENLAND - raced wide with cover early and middle stages. Obliged to remain wide without cover from the 1500m when laying in and was unable to secure the position outside the leader which was being held by ALWAYS B STUNNING. Weakened final turn.
CONRAD H - weakened in the run home after sustaining the punctured sulky tyre near the 600m.
Race 6   FRANKLIN TROTTERS COUNTRY CUP HANDICAP TROT
ROYAL ACTION - broke near the 850m hampering trailing runners losing ground. Weakened from the 500m.
FEARLESS - hampered by a breaking runner near the 850m.
SANS AU REVOIR - Driver R Downey dropped his whip near the 500m.
CASTANA - hampered by a breaking runner near the 850m.
TAYLAD TO USE - raced keenly before breaking near the 1500m losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
KIMKAR DASH - pre-raced warmed. Trainer D Balle advised that the mare would be racing without the front shoes. Slow early before mixing its gait entering the first turn and trailed the field throughout. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners
LORD POPINJAY - broke at the start losing ground. Commenced to over-race before being taken forward to race outside the leader near the 1700m. Continued to over-race middle stages. Weakened final turn.
Race 7   FRANKLIN PACERS COUNTRY CUP HANDICAP PACE
MIKI SHAN - over-raced middle stages.
CLAUDE - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
INVISIBLE - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
JOLIMONT - broke for several strides at the start.
VILLAGE REBEL - cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
Race 8   RODEWALD CONSULTING - NORTHERN METRO PACERS FINAL MOB PACE
MANTRA - slow early.
SECRETS ABOUND - over-raced middle stages. Weakened in the run home.
DOUBLE PARKED - had difficulty obtaining clear running throughout the home straight.
UPSTAGE - weakened in the run home.
WHAT A MINX - trainer S McCaffrey advised that the mare has scanned positive and would be racing in foal. Over-raced middle stages. Lay in when in restricted room dislodging the final track marker in the run home.
HEZASWEETIE - raced wide in the early stages before improving to the parked position near the 1500m.
Race 9   AUCKLAND CO-OP TAXIS 300-3000 MOBILE PACE
FRANCO SALAH - improved three wide approaching the bell but was then restrained back to the rear after it was apparent that the parked position that was being held by the over-racing MARY MAGDALENE was not available.
MARY MAGDALENE - over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to take cover. Raced fiercely middles stages. Broke checking a trailing runner rounding the final turn losing all chance. A warning was placed on the filly's racing manners.
THE RASCAL - paced roughly rounding the final turn. Checked by a breaking runner near the 250m. Continued to pace roughly throughout the run home.
