Race 1   EQUINE VETERINARY SERVICES TROT
VALYRIAN - hampered near the 1100m.
A REASON TO FIGHT - broke near the 1500m losing ground. Attempted to pull up near the 1100m hampering trailing runners. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation when in a break near the 1500m.
NATIVES BLAZIN SON - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
ALMIGHTY - hampered near the 600m and locked wheels with SILVESTER unbalancing driver K Butt and losing all chance.
TROUBLE PAT - hampered near the 600m.
SPANISH PRINCESS - hampered near the 600m.
SILVESTER - shied outwards near the 1400m. Hung inwards near the 650m striking track markers and broke hampering trailing runners shortly after and locked wheels with ALMIGHTY with driver K Butt being unbalanced in the sulky of ALMIGHTY. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Driver T Williams advised the gelding had objected to the track grit.
PHANTOM SPUR - broke briefly near the 2100m and again near the 1700m losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Became awkwardly positioned to the inside of HANK HILL near the 1100m after there was an easing of the pace. Despite this driver L Dobbs was issued a warning for the manner in which he drove in this incident. Hampered near the 600m.
JUST CHARLIE - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver N Burton advised he would be recommending gear changes prior to the horse racing next.
HANK HILL - slow over the early stages. Hampered near the 1100m. Trotted roughly for a distance passing the 600m. Again trotted roughly in the early stages of the run home.
THE LAST MCGUIRE - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
Race 2   GEORGE SHAND MEMORIAL PACE
NORMIE STEAD - weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner.
FULLA HOT EYRE - hung outwards throughout the run home.
SANS REPOS - hampered by a weakening runner final bend and held up early in the run home. Driver R Alfeld was questioned regarding the manner in which he drove over the concluding stages. After hearing from Mr Alfeld and taking into consideration the margin at the finish Stewards reminded him of his obligations not to leave his drives open to query in future.
HUGHES TWO ME - weakened final bend.
TERRORMYLOVE - began awkwardly.
BAUTISTA - over-raced early and middle stages.
DESTINY'S DREAM - trainer B Waldron was issued a warning for not having the correct colours available.
TAIKA - slow over the early stages. Broke near the 600m losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming. Trainer/driver G Shand advised the gelding had crossed fired and pulled the near fore shoe.
Race 3   KEVIN WILSON/BROWN & SHIPMAN 1969 LTD MOBILE PACE
ULTIMATE RUSH - raced four wide for a distance from the 1000m.
LONNEKERS - broke near the 800m losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
SWEET TARTAN - broke briefly near the 500m losing ground. Driver J Morrison advised the filly had struck a knee.
GIMMESOMELOVIN - weakened rounding the final bend.
Race 4   AORAKI FRAMES & TRUSS/TRANSWORX SOUTH ISLAND LTD PACE
HEAVEN - began awkwardly.
FOVEAUX GAMBLER - began awkwardly. Weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Tomlinson advised she was disappointed with the effort and was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
Race 5   TIMARU DENTAL CARE MOBILE TROT
TO HILL AND BACK - broke in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Weakened final bend.
MASSIVE MERC - raced wide from the 800m.
BARRYTOWN - the spreader broke during the running. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
GRANNY ROSE - raced wide early.
FEAR AND FAITH - trotted roughly in the early stages. Broke near the 850m losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly.
ASPIRATIONAL DREAM - out of position at the candy pole. Driver B Orange was issued a warning. Raced wide early.
T K MEGASTAR - held up early in the run home and was awkwardly placed close to the sulky of PEAKNMONKEY near the 200m having to be steadied.
Race 6   BROSNAN TRANSPORT LTD TIMARU NURSERY STAKES (MOBILE PACE)
LA CONCHA - over-raced middle stages.
POSEIDON - weakened final bend.
Race 7   SILVER FERN FARMS MOBILE PACE
IDEAL CHEVRON - locked wheels momentarily with EBURY STREET near the 200m.
BETTERTHANDIVA - raced wide from the 800m.
IVONA DADIC - lay inwards shortly after the start and paced roughly. Raced wide early.
EBURY STREET - held up early in the run home and when attempting a marginal run near the 200m locked wheels momentarily with IDEAL CHEVRON and then struck a track marker near the 50m. Junior driver H Sail (assisted by B Butt) was shown a replay and warned for the manner in which he drove when anticipating a run resulting in him locking wheels and striking a track marker.
PIONEER - late scratching at 4.53pm on Veterinary advice.
ENYA FRANCO - over-raced middle stages.
Race 8   TYRE GENERAL TIMARU SUMMER CUP (HANDICAP PACE)
WOODBINE ROCKS - broke at the start and shifted up the track hampering outside runners losing ground.
AUDACITY - hampered shortly after the start by a breaking runner.
LIVE ON LEGEND - broke at the start and shifted inwards hampering trailing runners losing ground.
BRYCE'S MEDDLE - hampered shortly after the start by a breaking runner.
COMMANDER BEN - broke briefly at the start losing ground. Over-raced middle stages.
LESTER - broke briefly at the start losing ground.
RAKERO ROCKET - driver G Smith advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
TANZANIA - hampered by a breaking runner at the start.
TRIPLE G - hampered by a breaking runner at the start.
Race 9   TIMARU CURRY CLUB HANDICAP TROT
There was a delay to the start when BROTHER LOVE and GRETTYMAC were fractious.
CODY BANNER - broke near the 200m losing its chance.
BROTHER LOVE - broke at the start losing ground. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts.
EDWARD LONGSHANKS - over-raced middle stages.
SODS LAW - unable to take up its rightful barrier position and was facing sideways and behind EDWARD LONGSHANKS as the start was effected losing its chance. Declared a non-runner by Stewards under Rule 213(1)(j) due to being denied a fair start.
GRETTYMAC - stood on the mark as the start was effected losing all chance and was retired from the race. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
WHO'S QUEEN - slow to begin. Broke racing into the first bend losing all chance and was retired from the race.
DESBOIS - raced wide early. Trotted roughly when weakening rounding the final bend and broke near the 200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have lost a front shoe with no other obvious abnormalities.
Race 10   LONE PINE BUILDING MOBILE PACE
OCEAN OF TEARS - late scratching at 4.45pm on Veterinary advice.
THREEBEERSDEEP - weakened final bend.
BUDDHA - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
