LEVI - weakened final bend.
BRAVEHEARTHIGHLANDER - raced wide early and middle stages before crossing to the parked position near the 1200m. Lay out throughout the run home.
ITAINTNECESSARILYSO - broke at the start losing all chance.
Race 2   TAB - NORTHERN METRO PACERS SERIES HEAT 1 MOBILE PACE
MAJOR TOMMY - when questioned regarding the performance driver Z Butcher advised the gelding was up in grade from its last start and was unsuited to racing parked through the early and middle stages.
MCKENDRICK - lay outwards in the run home.
DOUBLE QUICK - raced wide early before being restrained towards the rear. Paced roughly at various stages throughout. Weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery with blood tests being recommended. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
WHAT A MINX - over-raced middle stages. Lay inwards final bend and in the run home.
Race 3   CLASSIQUE LANDSCAPERS TROT
The start was delayed 2 minutes due to holding for New Plymouth gallops which were running late.
ALDEBARAN WHAT - broke near the 1800m losing all chance.
PAT YATES - crowded at the start and broke shortly after losing ground.
VERONICA JANE - fractious prior to the start. Broke near the 1400m losing considerable ground. Broke again near the 950m losing all chance.
HEARTBREAK HOTEL - fractious prior to the start. Broke shortly after the start losing ground. Broke briefly near the 1100m. Broke again near the 350m when being shifted wider on the track by an inside runner. A final warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
CHEMICAL DREAMS - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Broke again rounding the first bend losing all chance.
BUSY CANOODLING - trainer S McMullan was issued with a warning for presenting the mare to race without the notified fixed deafeners.
HAYLEY MHOR - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
LOTERIA - trainer S Kilgour was issued a warning for being late to notify the filly would be racing without a pacifier. Pre-race warmed. Trotted roughly early stages. Lay inwards final bend contacting track markers. Lay outwards in the run home.
Race 4   BRUCE HADLEY - SOUTH OF THE BOMBAYS MOBILE PACE
PROVISEUR - over-raced middle stages. Lay inwards near the 1450m and 1250m contacting track markers. Weakened leaving the final bend.
BET WEST - contacted a track marker when leading near the 1250m. Driver C Hackett was issued with a warning. Placed in restricted room by an outside runner near the 250m and briefly locked wheels. Miss Hackett was also issued with a warning for using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
SHEZA MERMAID - raced wide early and middle stages. Lay inwards near the 250m placing an inside runner in restricted room and briefly locked wheels.
CYREN SHARD - raced wide final bend.
DELIGHTFUL CHIC - raced wide final bend.
MAJOR MAJOR - paced roughly for a distance passing the 900m losing ground. Paced roughly again final bend.
SPIRIT OF WAIHEKE - held up final bend and early in the run home.
MAJOR BREAK - over-raced early and middle stages. Weakened in the run home.
Race 5   TAB - NORTHERN METRO TROTTERS SERIES HEAT 2 HCP TROT
STONE COLD - broke at the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Lay inwards near the 1250m contacting a track marker. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer J Teaz.
A TROPHY WIFE - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
VISCOUNT MACKENDON - raced four wide from the 700m.
FIVE O'CLOCK GERRY - broke at the start losing ground.
ROYAL ACTION - held up early and middle stages of the run home. Driver L Neal was issued with a warning for contacting and racing over a track marker near the 100m when anticipating a run.
ONE MORE MOMENT - driver J Stormont had difficulty activating the removable deafeners early in the run home.
BELLE NEIGE - began awkwardly.
FEARLESS - held up early and middle stages of the run home. Driver S Wigg was issued with a warning for using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
Race 6   BIRD & BARROW FLYING MOBILE PACE
YOU LITTLE BEAUTY - checked by a breaking runner entering the first bend and broke for several strides losing ground.
THE JOLLY ROGER - broke entering the first bend checking trailing runners and lost ground. Broke again passing the 400m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off fore pastern which was treated.
SEACLUSION - required assistance from a Starting Attendant in the pre-race formation with a warning being placed on the barrier record of the mare.
SOONER THE BETTOR - driver C Hackett advised that she did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
VILLAGE REBEL - checked by a breaking runner entering the first bend losing ground.
FERNLEIGH CASH - checked by a breaking runner entering the first bend losing ground. Over-raced early and middle stages.
Race 7   TPW HANDICAP TROT
The start was initially delayed when VORONOV required assistance from a Starting Attendant in the pre-race formation with the field then being turned out of line after several runners became fractious. A warning was placed on the barrier record of VORONOV.
A false start was declared after the front barrier strand failed to clear TAYLAD TO USE.
TAYLAD TO USE - broke shortly after the start but soon settled.
CASTANA - broke at the start losing ground.
HALBERG - raced greenly passing the 2000m and shifted up the track.
CON GRAZIA LOVE - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
PANTANI - trotted roughly early in the run home.
IT AIN'T ME BABE - raced wide early.
VORONOV - raced wide through the middle stages before being restrained to the rear near the 600m. Weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
SHEZ BELLA - broke passing the 300m losing all chance.
DREAM OF YOU - driver D Balle was warned for the manner in which he drove passing the 1400m when shifting ground.
Race 8   TAB - NORTHERN METRO PACERS SERIES HEAT 2 MOBILE PACE
LEWEY MAGUIRE - weakened leaving the final bend hampering a trailing runner.
DOUBLE PARKED - unsuccessfully contested for the early lead. Held up final bend and early in the run home.
SECRETS ABOUND - lay inwards near the 300m contacting a track marker. Hampered by a weakening runner leaving the final bend. Again lay inwards over the concluding stages and raced over the final track marker despite the efforts of Driver A Poutama.
FRANCO SANTANA - back from position at dispatch. Driver T Herlihy was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice. When questioned regarding the performance Mr Herlihy advised the gelding had been unsuited to the tempo of the race and had hung inwards when attempting to improve wide on the final bend resulting in the horse losing ground.
Race 9   GROVE MITRE 10 MOBILE PACE
The start was delayed 2 minutes due to the sulky of BEACHBREAK having to be replaced after sustaining a punctured sulky tyre in the preliminary.
KEVIN KLINE - hampered by a slight easing of the pace near the 1000m.
EYELINER - broke entering the first bend hampering a trailing runner losing its chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off fore leg which was treated.
TUAREG - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Hampered by a slight easing of the pace near the 1000m.
NEW YORK HUSTLER - hampered by a slight easing of the pace near the 1000m. Weakened rounding the final bend.
BEACHBREAK - hampered by a breaking runner entering the first bend. Raced greenly near the 1000m resulting in a slight easing of the pace which hampered trailing runners.
LOVEABLE ROGUE - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver T Mitchell. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts.
Race 10   LINCOLN FARMS 2YO FILLIES MOBILE PACE
PRINCESS LISA - over-raced when being restrained to surrender the lead rounding the first bend. Hampered and broke near the 950m when over-racing losing considerable ground. Weakened in the run home.
PRINCESS GRACY - broke near the 500m checking a trailing runner but soon settled. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly.
GIFTED BRIGADE - over-raced early stages when wide on the track. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 850m. Checked by a breaking runner near the 450m and broke losing its chance.
DEBBIE LINCOLN - pre-race warmed.
TWISTED SISTER - raced wide early stages. Raced greenly passing the 950m resulting in a trailing runner being hampered.
