Race 1   JD SOUNESS LTD FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
MATAI LIZZIE - lay outwards leaving the final bend.
A BEAUTY - fractious and reared in the pre-race circle requiring the assistance of starting personnel. Hung inwards and paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Weakened leaving the final bend.
SWEET SUE - lay inwards and paced roughly in the run home.
BALTIC STAR - driver R Gutsell was warned for using his whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
BUBBLE ME - driver K Green was warned for using her whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
Race 2   MALLOCH McCLEAN MOBILE PACE
HE'S ROBYN - paced roughly and lost ground through the early stages. Placed on the Unruly for future mobile starts at the request of co-trainer R Wilson.
ROCK N ROLL DON - weakened final bend and locked wheels with ANGUS FINN near the 300m losing all chance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
FLASHBYTHESEASIDE - broke in the score up however was in position at the start.
HOGIE - weakened leaving the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Cox advised the gelding had worked hard through the middle stages to obtain the parked position with the effort taking its toll.
MACANDREW MARKUP - raced wide early. Driver H Douglas was advised to make a greater effort to leave the passing lane free for trailing runners in future.
ANGUS FINN - locked wheels with the weakening ROCK N ROLL DON near the 300m losing all chance. Driver S Kelly reported he had sustained a punctured sulky tyre. Stewards questioned drivers S Kelly (ANGUS FINN) and N Williamson (COLD PURSUIT) which was racing to his outside, regarding this incident. After considering the explanation of both drivers Mr Kelly was issued a charge under Rule 869(3)(b), which he defended, alleging that he drove carelessly when taking a run where insufficient room existed. After viewing replays and hearing evidence from all parties the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and suspended Mr Kelly's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 22 November 2024 (2 days).
Race 3   CAPTAIN CRUNCH AT ALABAR MOBILE PACE
FIRST LIGHT - driver M Hurrell was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
ON THE WING - raced wide early.
TOMCAT - when questioned regarding the performance driver D Anderson advised the gelding had got too far back in the running and had difficulty making ground due to the fast closing sectionals.
Race 4   HERBERTS TRANSPORT MOBILE PACE
BREENY'S ROCK N ROLL - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
RAKNRUIN - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Over-raced early and middle stages. Held up in the run home with driver B Barclay reporting he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence. Stewards questioned Mr Barclay regarding the tactics he adopted, in particular his decision to shift inwards near the 300m resulting in his runner being held up for clear racing room. Mr Barclay explained that when he attempted to shift wider rounding the final bend the filly had locked on the outside rein causing him difficulty, adding he was reluctant to persist due to the filly breaking in similar circumstances in previous starts. Stewards noted Mr Barclay's comments.
SUPERFAST - lay outwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Held up throughout the run home with driver O Kite reporting he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
SHERWOOD MAGGIE - raced wide early.
NO PERFECT PRINCESS - lay out rounding the final bend. Held up throughout the run home.
GEMS DELIGHT - broke racing into the first bend hampering outside runners. Stood down to trial on one occasion to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming. Held up over the concluding stages.
Race 5   RURAL LIVESTOCK MOBILE PACE
MONTAGE - over-raced middle stages. Held up early in the run home. Blundered near the 100m after striking a knee, checking trailing runners and losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Driver T Nally advised he would be recommending gear changes. Mr Nally also reported the gelding had cast a shoe during the running.
VAN LIBERTY - paced roughly in the middle stages of the run home.
ROBYNS ART - checked by an inside runner near the 100m.
MAGIC SIGN - held up early in the run home.
RAMBLIN ROVER - weakened early in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Barclay advised that he was disappointed with the effort despite the gelding working hard in the early stages to obtain the lead.
ALWAYS B THERE - raced wide early.
AIRWAVES - held up early in the run home.
ROBYNS HUSTLER - checked by an inside runner near the 100m.
LORTON VALE - broke in the score up however was in position at the start. Weakened leaving the final bend.
Race 6   FRANKS MOTORCYCLES & 4 SPARES GOLD CHIP FINAL (HCP TROT)
AROHA - driver B Barclay reported he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
BROTHER JOHNSON - broke at the start losing all chance.
FATHER ON DOWN - hampered by a weakening runner final bend and was then held up in the early stages of the run home.
MADISON'S MOON - hampered by a weakening runner final bend. Lay inwards throughout the run home and was unable to be fully driven out.
PHISHING - connections reported the mare would be racing in season. Struck track markers when weakening rounding the final bend. Driver T Robertson was issued with a warning.
IRISH SUN - hung outwards in the early stages losing ground. Weakened from the 600m.
TOP OF THE HILL - raced wide early. Hampered by a weakening runner final bend and was then held up in the early stages of the run home.
PRACTICAL MAGIC - trotted roughly in the run home and was unable to be fully driven out.
JUSTINE JACCKA - weakened leaving the final bend hampering trailing runners.
KYLE LOCH - driver A Kyle was warned for using his whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
STYRAX - raced wide early. Again raced wide from the 950m.
HENNESSY - broke near the 900m losing all chance.
Race 7   PERFECT STING AT MACCA LODGE MOBILE PACE
GINERVA - paced roughly and broke passing the 1300m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly.
FERNCO NEL - held up early in the run home. Driver K Larsen was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
BIG VINNIE - raced greenly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
BY CHANCE - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. Raced wide from the 800m. Following the race driver M Hurrell advised Stewards he believed he had been denied a fair start when unable to take up his correct Unruly barrier position due to HERE'S JOHNY being in his position. Stewards requested a ruling from the Adjudicative Committee and after viewing replays and hearing from Mr Hurrell and Stewards, BY CHANCE was declared a non-runner acting under Rule 213(1)(j) due to being denied a fair start.
HERE'S JOHNY - driver P Hunter defended a charge under Rule 859(2) alleging that he started from the incorrect barrier position. After viewing replays and hearing evidence from Mr Hunter and Stewards the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and following submissions on penalty imposed a fine of $400.
Race 8   SIX PACK AT MACCA LODGE HANDICAP TROT
DANCING GLENIS - held up early in the run home.
BILL BOOTIT - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. Placed on the Unruly for future standing starts. Returned to the birdcage with blood present in one nostril. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had bled. Stood down for the mandatory period of 30 days with connections advised a veterinary clearance including the results of an endoscopic examination prior to completing a satisfactory trial would be required prior to BILL BOOTIT resuming racing.
BURNING LOVE - connections advised the mare has been served since last racing. Broke after 150m losing ground. Broke again rounding the final bend losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
ABADABADO - held up final bend.
HIDDEN TALENT - driver N Williamson reported he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
DEL'S CREATION - broke at the start losing ground. Trotted roughly in the run home.
Race 9   MATAI FARM MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared when CAPTAIN STARLIGHT broke in the score up checking a second line runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver R McIlwrick elected to start from the Unruly position for the restart where CAPTAIN STARLIGHT will remain for future mobile starts.
SMART I AM - weakened from the 900m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be showing signs of muscle tie-up.
MUCHACHO - hung outwards when weakening final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Williamson advised the gelding had been striking a knee and was racing up in grade. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
LIFE OF ART - when questioned regarding the improved performance connections advised that the gelding had been striking its knee at the previous start as reported and they had made corrective gear changes for today's race.
JUDAQUE - paced roughly late in the score up. Hampered by a weakening runner for a distance passing the 900m.
Race 10   CAMERON CONTRACTING LTD MOBILE PACE
FRANCO HUNTINGTON - driver S Walkinshaw was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
NO ADDED SUGAR - trainer T Dewe was warned for late notification the gelding would race with sliding blinds. Weakened final bend.
