Race 1   IRT & TAB UNSUNG HEROES RACE NIGHT MOBILE TROT
ITAINTNECESSARILYSO - broke at the start losing all chance and was retired from the event. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
REGAL GIRL - raced wide early.
JOHNNY WHO - raced wide from the 950m.
SWEET OLIVIA - raced wide early. Lay in rounding the bends. Weakened in the run home. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. When questioned regarding the performance Driver T Mitchell stated the mare had trotted roughly throughout. Connections advised that they will be considering giving SWEET OLIVIA a short spell.
Race 2   THE NGAIRE GORDON MOBILE PACE
LIKE A LADY - weakened final bend.
AMAZING CAPTAIN - lay in under pressure on several occasions in the run home having to be straightened by driver J Dickie.
CUPIDS ARROW - broke near the 1400m but soon settled. Broke approaching the 1250m but again settled quickly. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
Race 3   THE VAL HART MOBILE TROT
SO MYSTIFYING - lay in near the 800m contacting track markers. Trotted roughly then broke near the 400m. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
FIGHT FOR FREEDOM - broke entering the first bend losing all chance.
LIL WHIP - pre-race warmed. Raced wide early and middles stages. Weakened in the run home.
PARADISE ALI - weakened in the run home.
FATHER BARRY - pre-race warmed. Raced wide early.
AND REMEMBER ME - over-raced middle stages. Broke near the 300m and failed to settle.
VISCOUNT MACKENDON - broke briefly early in the score up but was in position at the candy pole.
DOLLY P - over-raced middle stages. Raced wide from the 1050m. Weakened final bend.
Race 4   THE STEW ASHWORTH MOBILE PACE
THE JOLLY ROGER - lay out under pressure over the concluding stages.
STEEL LEDGER - lay in rounding the bends and lost ground on the final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. A warning was placed the mare's performance.
BENJAMIN BUTTON - lay in contacting track markers with one being dislodged approaching the 1200m. Held up leaving final bend.
DEAR GOD - pulled hard score up and was back from position at dispatch. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier manners. Lost contact with the body of the field over the early stages.
MANTRA - lay in contacting track markers approaching the 1200m.
Race 5   THE TONY GRAYLING - NORTHERN METRO TROTTERS FINAL MOB TROT
BANGKOK BETTY - weakened in the run home.
FIVE O'CLOCK GERRY - raced wide early before being eased towards the rear. Raced four wide from the 600m.
BELLE NEIGE - raced wide early and middle stages before crossing to the parked position near the 850m.
ONE MORE MOMENT - shifted out in the run home. Driver J Stormont was warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the home straight in future.
BOLT FOR THE HILL - broke early in the score up but was in position prior to the candy pole. Raced wide early before eased to the rear.
TAYLAD TO USE - broke passing the 1400m losing ground before settling. Lay in on the bend near the 900m. Weakened final bend.
Race 6   THE LYNETTE BURTON - NORTHERN METRO PACERS FINAL MOB PACE
MCKENDRICK - lay in final bend contacting track markers.
INVISIBLE - raced wide early.
DAWSON - when questioned regarding the performance of a favoured runner driver T Herlihy advised that after drawing wide the gelding was always following on a hot tempo losing ground on the first bend and he was not disappointed with the run.
SEACLUSION - broke near the 1400m after successfully contesting for a position on the back of HOORAY HENRY losing ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days. Stewards questioned drivers J Stormont (SEACLUSION) and T Herlihy (DAWSON) regarding this incident. Mr Stormont advised that his mare had paced roughly at stages throughout the event including shortly after this incident causing the horse to break briefly. After hearing from drivers and viewing the films Stewards were in agreeance that it was a racing incident with no further action deemed necessary.
Race 7   THE JAY ABERNETHY MOBILE TROT
LORD POPINJAY - retired from the event near the 500m. Driver M White reported that he sustained a flat tyre to the near side shortly after the start after the gelding had struck its own wheel.
COURMAYEUR - broke near the 900m losing its chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
AMERICAN MUSCLE - raced wide early. Broke near the 1250m losing ground.
IRON LOVE - raced wide early. Stewards lodged a protest against this runner's 4th placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulations alleging the gelding had switched to a pace in excess of 50m inside the final 200m. After viewing the films and hearing evidence from all parties IRON LOVE was disqualified by the Adjudicative Committee.
MATTY A - raced wide early.
DREAM OF YOU - pre-race warmed.
Race 8   THE ANDREA MCKEOWN MOBILE PACE
The start of this race was delayed by five minutes at the request of the TAB due to the protest in the previous race.
ALWAYS B STUNNING - Driver P Ferguson was questioned in relation to the removable deafeners not being in place prior to the commencement of the score up. Mr Ferguson advised that he removed the deafeners for the mare to show early speed and to capitilise on the inside draw.
Race 9   THE PAT GUBB MOBILE PACE
CLAUDE - held up by a weakening runner final bend. Weakened in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance Driver C Hackett reported that the gelding had been unable to make up ground after being held up due to the fast closing sectionals.
WICKED WANDA - weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. When questioned regarding the performance Driver J Stormont reported the mare had worked well leading into the event after having recovered from a viral respiratory infection however had disappointed when asked for an effort. Stewards will follow up with connections in coming days.
LADY OF THE LIGHT - raced wide early.
Race 10   THANK YOU TO ALL THE UNSUNG HEROES MOBILE PACE
BEACHBREAK - paced roughly under pressure passing the 100m and had to be steadied losing momentum.
CRUMSY - raced wide early.
