MASSIVE MERC - lay outwards near the 1000m and shifted up the track resulting in trailing runners having to be steadied. Again lay outwards in the run home and shifted up the track forcing ODINA wider. A protest was lodged under Rule 869A(2) against 1st placing being awarded to MASSIVE MERC (A Clark) by driver B Hope (ODINA) placed 2nd, alleging interference in the run home when MASSIVE MERC shifted up the track. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from both drivers and Stewards the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the protest. Driver A Clark was issued a warning to ensure he makes a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home. Mr Clark advised he will be making gear changes prior to the gelding racing next. | |
